Aalekh stopped his car before a peppy place, located amidst a lonely surrounding. He stepped up to the office but found no one there. As he came out, a beautiful girl in white salwaar kameez welcomed him!!

"Welcome to Aashiyana Captain!! Bahut din baad aaye aap??"

"What is this noise all about??"

"Paas me jo orphanage hai, vahan kisi ka B'Day tha. Orphanage ka renovation chal raha hai to mother ne kaha yahan celebrate kar lenge. Aur vaise bhi, maine socha ki yahan jo log rehte hain, unhe bhi ek party ki sakht zarurat hai"

"Kisi patient ko is qaid se chutti mili??"

"Yahan log qaid me nahi, apni marzi ke maalik banker rehte hain Captain!!"

"Mai vo….."

"Naina ke baare me jaan na chahte hain na aap?"

Aalekh lowered his eyes.

"Usne abhi tak kuch nahi kaha Captain!!! Uski khamoshi barkaraar hai!!"

"Then why don't you do something??" Aalekh retaliated angrily.

"Kyunki jabtak mujhe uski khamoshi ki wajah ka pata nahi chalega mai kaise kuch kar sakti hun???"

"Rehab Sciences me koi to tareeka hoga!!!"

"Tareeka hai, Naina ko provoke karna hoga, aur vo ho sakta hai jab use vo haadsa yaad dilaya jaaye jiski wajah se uski ye haalat hai!!"

Aalekh preferred to stay quiet.

"Theek hai!!! Aap mujhe nahi bata sakte to aap khud Naina se baat keejiye!!"

"Ms. Sahay I can't do that!!"

"The name is Nandini!!"

They exchanged looks and Aalekh didn't know how to convince her.

"Nandini mai…….mai Naina se…..Naina ne….."

He remained silent for a while.

"Kahan hai vo?? I want to meet her!!"

"Vo apne room me he hai….aap jaa ke mil leejiye!!"

Aalekh went inside. Naina was lost in her thoughts, as always. She had been like this for over two years now. Aalekh knew how, but he didn't know why!! Somewhere, something pinched him when he saw her like this. He hated it……but cared for her a lot. He went up to her.

"Naina…."

She was too lost to even react to his call.

"Naina…."

He tried again as he kept his hand on her shoulder. She stood up with a hopeful smile but the familiar frown caged her as she saw he was not the one she expected.

"Kya hua?? Smile naa….Tum neeche party me nahi gayi???"

Naina turned back, adjusting her dupatta.

"Naina kuch bolo….please!!! Tumhari khamoshi aur nahi bardasht hoti mujhse!!!"

But Naina's silence was far stronger than his plea. She didn't utter a word. A tear trickled down her eyes but she managed to hide it from him.

"Naina please kuch bolo!!! Tumhaare khamosh rehne se Navin ya Raj vapas nahi aa jayenge, haan Navin jahan bhi hoga, tumhe is haalat me dekh kar bahut dukhi hoga."

Naina's quietude was intact, but her eyes, closed. Aalekh didn't know how to come down to that, but Nandini's words were repeatedly hitting him. He wanted to agitate her to words, but the words that he had to say for that, were difficult for him too. He turned back, but couldn't go. He turned towards Naina again.

"Apni zindagi ki saath khilvaad karna band karo Naina!! Tum apne bhai ko to kho he chuki ho, mujhe nahi lagta ki ab Raj bhi kabhi vapas aayega. Us din ke baad se kisi ko uski koi khabar nahi hai. Mai tumhe apni zindagi barbaad nahi karne doonga!!"

Naina turned to him. She didn't say anything but her face conveyed strong defiance to his words. Aalekh understood that and stepped out. Nandini tried to stop him to talk but he rushed-off.

"Captain is tarah kyun chale gaye?? Naina se kya baat hui hogi?? I think I should check on her once!!" Thought Nandini.

She paced up the steps to reach out to Naina's room and was dumbstruck to see the condition. All the things in her room were scattered and she was lying unconscious on the floor.

"Nainaaaa!!!!!" She yelled as she rushed towards her.

It was the first time since Naina was admitted to Aashiyana or say she started living here that she had behaved like that. Everyone around had known her as someone who is subdued to quietude for years. Nandini, though was worried about Naina's health, was happy that she finally expressed herself somehow.

"She's fine Nandini. It's just that she has turned a bit vigorous today which affected her mind" Explained Dr. Shalini, Chief Medical Consultant at Aashiyana.

"Thanks Shalu!! I was so worried!!" Exclaimed Nandini.

"Uski health par to koi asar…..??" Aalekh questioned. Nandini informed him about the same that very instant due to which he returned.

"Don't worry Captain, she's fine!!" Saying this, Dr. Shalini left.

"So, you did it!!" Nandini smiled.

"Did what??"

"Do you realize what it means?? Naina has finally been able to express herself after so long!! Maybe a bit vigorously but she did…….this is a positive indication for sure."

"You mean she may….."

"You're right!! She may……" She stopped to pin down his rising hopes. "How about a cup of coffee??"

"Not possible!! I need to go….kal subah 0500 hours par drill coordinate karni hai, I must hit the bed as soon as possible."

"Ya sure…"

The clock had surpassed midnight but there was no sign of sleep in Captain Ritu Mishra's eyes. She was constantly racing her mind in and out of those articles which she clicked in her cell. Her heart somewhere indicated a connection between Rajveer-Navin Mission and Naina's Missing report. Her confusion steadily took a backseat and with her concentration following an exponential increase, things started becoming somewhat clear.

"Naina aise kaise gayab ho gayi??? And at the same time, the media spots a mystery woman with Raj……strange…..ho sakta hai ye sab connected ho!!"

Her thought process was suddenly disrupted by Aalekh's entrance.

"Hi!!"

"Tum?? Mujhe laga tum mujhse baat he nahi karoge ab!!"

"Vo kyun?? KMA me tumhara swaagat mai he to karunga!!"

"Look Aalekh is waqt mai……."

Realizing that Aalekh might reveal something seeing those newspaper clippings, she stepped aside deliberately so that his sight catches the prey.

"……vaise tum chale kahan gaye the??" She said as she slid sidewards.

"KMA, aur kahan?? I had a lecture there…"

"Ek physiatrist ke saamne jhooth bol rahe ho?? Interesting!!!"

"I think I should leave!!" He said as he felt uncomfortable.

"How is Naina related to Rajveer Aalekh?" She threw that googly to stop him.

"Kaun Naina…..mai….mai kisi Naina ko nahi jaanta!!"

"Really!! Navin ki behen Naina ko bhi nahi??"

That had hit him hard!! He forced himself foreward.

"Aalekh please stop!! Mujhe sach batao Aalekh……Naina aur Raj kaise related hain??? What made the media publish this??" She said while pointing towards the news article.

"Ye tumhe kahan se mila??"

"Army Library provides everything!!"

"I give up Ritu!! Haan, jitna maine tumhe bataya tha, mai us se kuch zyaada jaanta hun, par mai Raj se kiya hua vada nahi tod sakta!!"

"Aalekh batao to sahi!!! Shaayad us clue ki madad se hum Raj ko dhoondh paayein, use is tarah bhaagte-chupte zindagi guzaarne se aazaad kar paayein!!"

"Ritu why don't you understand Naina kuch nahi kahegi vo tabhe se khamosh hai jabse uske saamne…………." He stopped as he realized what his agitation gave way to.

Ritu stepped towards him and was stunned by his words.
