PART-3
Sharp at 2030 hours there was a car outside the guest house blowing horn repeatedly. Captain Shekhawat and Captain Huda came out. Naina Singh stepped down from her car. For once, both the men found themselves enchanted by the beauty of the immensely dazzling lady standing in front of them. Naina was wearing a short fitted backless dress in black with a scooping cowl neck. Her beautiful waist length jet black hair was curled and her shimmering make-up enhanced her charisma.
"Shall we?" She asked. Her charm was so mesmerizing that even her voice sounded seductive. Both of them found themselves at the loss of words. They just could not take their eyes off her. They were completely spellbound. Realizing the condition of the two men, she bent a little to reach for the horn and blew it again. The sudden disrupting howl of the horn was more than enough to wake them up from their captivated state. They both tried to behave normal but it proved to be slightly more difficult than what they assumed it to be. They needed a little more time to restore their control on their senses.
"What happened Gentlemen?" She chuckled.
"Nothing Captain Singh. Just give me 2 minutes. I'll lock the door." Captain Rajveer made a grave attempt to sound normal and attained a little success.
"Ditto." Captain Huda was too enthralled to speak more than that.
"Alright."
In two minutes, three of them left for the dinner. Captain Naina Singh drove them and it took about 45 minutes to reach there. None of them spoke even a single word on the way. Both Captain Huda and Captain Rajveer were feeling embarrassed at their reactions and that made Captain Naina also feel a bit uncomfortable.
They ordered the food. For the initial 15 minutes here was absolute silence. No one of them said anything. Finally Naina broke the silence.
"Ahem...Ahem. Waise aap dono mein se kisi ko yeh nahin lagta ki hum yahan dinner pe nahin kisi ke funeral pe baithe hain."
"Actually I kind of agree with you." Rajveer said. Both of them looked at Captain Huda.
"What? Please don't stare at me like that, because I beg to differ."
"Really?" Naina was amused at that answer.
"Yeah. You see funeral mein na itna delicious food hota hai na hi itni beautiful company."
"Oh my god! Are you trying to flirt with me Captain?"
"Well, off duty I do try that with pretty ladies at times."
"That's interesting. So what's your success rate?"
"How much according to you should that be?"
"I think I will be able to tell you that after the dinner is over. By then I am sure I'll be more familiar with that."
"By the way I really hope you don't mind that."
"Oh not at all Captain. Some healthy flirting is just fine."
"And what about you Captain Rajveer? Kya aap bhi occasionally ladies ke saath apna luck try karte hain?"
"Actually no. I know I am too bad at flirting."
"That's great. It means no competition for me tonight from you. Beware Captain Singh."
"Sure. And Captain please call me Naina."
"With pleasure. By the way, it's Huda."
"Okay Huda."
They turned to Rajveer who was quiet.
"Well my friends call me Raj and both of you can call me that."
"Great then. By the way I hope you both liked the food. Captain Huda...err...sorry...I mean Huda I think liked it what about you Raj?"
"Food and company both are great."
"Oh how sweet!"
"Waise while dining out with ladies I think company matters more than food. But tonight I got lucky in both."
"Alright Huda... Keep that going... I am keeping your scores."
"Okay but I am expecting some leniency there."
"Hmmm.... I think I can allow that. So your perfume gets you plus one. It's really nice."
"By the way Raj, Huda apparently isn't in a mood to discuss his love life......"
"That's because I am busy trying to make one tonight." He cut her in between.
She laughed.
"Okay so another plus 1 for you."
She turned to Rajveer again.
"Yeah... so I was asking you, any girlfriends. I hope you don't mind me asking you that."
"No that's okay. Well yes I do have one. What about you? Are you single or seeing someone."
"Well I think I'll reserve my answer for some other day. I have absolutely no intentions of putting a break on Huda's attempts."
"Does that mean yes?" Huda was curious.
"Ho bhi sakta hai. You never know. But anyways you may carry on."
"Merci. But anyways your girlfriend thing really intrigues me. I mean you sound too serious and no-nonsense types."
"That I am, but how does the two things connect. No matter what types you are, you are always supposed to have a personal life. Isn't it?"
"Correct. So who took the first step... you or her?"
"Her."
"And what does she look like?" Naina asked him.
"Well for me she is the world's most beautiful girl." His eye lit up as he said that.
"That's really sweet." Naina said.
The evening passed swiftly with such conversations and it didn't take them too long to mix up. By the time they returned they looked like old friends who have met after long. Naina dropped them back to the guest house and as she was about to leave Huda stopped her.
"You had to tell me my scores."
"Oh yes.... I forgot. Hmmm....so all I can say is sorry."
"Sorry?" He was taken aback.
"Yeah, sorry. All your efforts have gone down the drain."
"And why so?"
"Because flirting ka basic rule hai pamper the lady. Aur uska sabse aasan yet important tareeka hai....Flattery. But I think I didn't come across any special compliment meant for me. So sorry."
"Well that was because no word could actually describe your beauty. You were looking way beyond any compliment."
"Sorry again. You came with it a bit too late. Goodnight."
"If you are leaving, I think the good part of this night is over. But anyways you have a Goodnight. See you tomorrow."
Naina laughed and planted a peck on his cheek.
"Now that was something nice." She then turned to Rajveer. "Goodnight Raj."
"Goodnight."
