PART-6
3 DAYS LATER.
"Wasn't Major Rastogi supposed to return from his leave yesterday?" Rajveer asked Naina.
"Yes." She answered.
Major Rastogi hasn't returned from his leave and there was no message from him either.
"Is there any way we can, may be, contact him?" Huda asked.
"I am afraid.... No. He hadn't told any of us anything about his plans. None of us know where he went for this short vacation. But I really wonder why he isn't back. He should have returned by now in any case."
"Why do everything here has to complicate the whole matter all the more?" Huda sounded disappointed.
"You think we should wait for him?" He asked Rajveer.
"I won't suggest you that. We should not waste any more time."
"Fine then. We will continue with our investigation and Naina you try to contact major Rastogi."
"Okay."
She was upset over the way things were happening. Not even a single thing was in place. She tried to contact Major Rastogi in every possible manner. She left messages for him wherever she thought is a possibility of his presence. She took out his personal file to contact his family. But nothing helped. His cell phone was constantly out of reach. Another 2 days passed by.
******
He woke up with the noise of constant banging on his door. He looked at his watch. It was half past 2. He was surprised to have a visitor at this hour and that too someone too impatient. The door was being banged so hardly as if the visitor was ready to break the door if it didn't open immediately.
"Coming." He answered, but the knocking didn't stop. He rushed to open the door and was amused to see the late night guest and her condition.
"Naina? Tum is waqt yahan kya kar rahi ho woh bhi is haalat mein?" He was quite taken aback.
She stood there in her night gown minus her robe, her hair unkempt. Beads of sweat covered her forehead while she looked aghast. She was breathing hard. It looked like she has come there running that too barefoot.
"Is everything okay?" He asked as he saw that she cannot get a grip over herself.
She shook her head. She pointed towards her cell phone. It had broken down into pieces.
"What happened with your phone? And Naina... Okay you come on in first. Uske baad baat karte hain. He took her hand and pulled her in. As she moved a moan escaped her lips. She was limping. He looked down and found out bloodstains on her gown around her knees.
"You are hurt!" He took her inside and made her sit on the couch.
"You wait I'll get the first aid kit."
As he turned she held his hands and stopped him. He looked back.
"Major Rastogi called up."
"What? What did he say? Where is he?"
"He himself doesn't know. He said that he was abducted by some people the day he was supposed to leave Simla from his flat. He doesn't know who kidnapped him and why or where is he kept. He just managed to make a call somehow. I was just coming to you while the call was connected but I tripped over something. I fell down and my mobile broke down."
"Did you see the number he called from?"
"It was a local mobile. He must be within the borders of Simla. But he sounded very weak. He had a problem speaking and it sounded like he was in a bad shape."
Huda looked worried but not more than her. She was close to tears.
"Naina you don't worry. We will find him out. We will do something. You just calm down. You wait here and I'll just be back."
He returned in a few minutes with a glass of water and first aid kit. He gave her water but she couldn't drink much. He opened the box and Naina shifted the gown upwards baring the wound on her knees. He gently cleaned it and bandaged. It wasn't too bad but due to its position on knees it hurt her more. In a little while she calmed down.
"Should I get you some wine?"
"No thanks. I am feeling much better now."
"It's a matter of couple of hours now, if you don't have any problem, I would suggest you to stay back here."
"Thanks." She gave him a faint smile and accepted his suggestion.
"What will you be doing now?" She asked him.
"We'll discuss it later with Rajveer before deciding on any POA. Till then you just relax and try to take a nap."
Her legs refused to support her to get up and walk inside the room. She lied down on the sofa and passed out in a few minutes. Huda stayed back and sat on the sofa just next to hers. He was lost in his thoughts. He turned to her after a while to find her in a deep slumber. A smile came on his face to see her sleeping peacefully. He thought of getting some rest himself but he could not take his eyes off her.
She was looking beautiful. Now only he noticed her wonderful curves showing up from the thin material of her beige colored calf length night gown. The gown had further shifted upwards baring a little of her toned thighs and those noodle strapped deep neckline flaunted her irresistible cleavage. Her lovely tresses were all pulled together on her one shoulder falling down from the sofa almost touching the ground. There were traces of dried tears on her cheeks and a turquoise ring on her finger was the only jewelry that she was wearing but that very well complimented her complexion. She looked immensely beautiful.
Huda got up and sat down on his knees next to the sofa. His face was too close to hers. He kept on staring at her adoring her beauty. He finally felt his control over his senses loosening a bit and he immediately got up. He brought a sheet from his room and covered her from that. He looked at her again. This time he could see innocence on her face. That was something that added to her charms. There was just one thing he wanted to do now, to protect that innocence. He believed every word that she has told him so far. He didn't need her to give him any proof to second his opinion about her.... he was sure he'll find them himself very soon.
