Part:7

Shabd and Mahi returned from Mauritius trip. Shabd didn't force her anymore and Mahi enjoyed the conferences. Shabd introduced her as his wife and trainee.

Mahi got used to Shabd's pampering now. Whenever he tries to touch her or makes her to sit next to him, she feels comfortable and not getting annoyed. They became good friends, they go out for watching movies, chat for hours on any topic, teases each other, comments on dresses of any person male or female.

Shabd makes funny comments to irritate Mahi; like when he sees a woman wearing shorts or skirts and if he likes her legs he comments "Hmm nice legs!! Wo skirt kuch aur upar kara diya toh bhi achi lagti hogi."
Mahi slaps him playfully and says "Mein batakey aajaao? Sari ya long pants bhi acha lagega uski long legs par. Kuch long plingth kanjeevaram sari, big border saris khub jamega uski upar"

Shabd hits his forehead "Tum aur tumhari saris. Dekho Mahi! Agar tum agey yeh sari ki designing karna chahti toh mera company mein mut join karna, okay?"
Mahi laughs at his irritation "Kyon nahin? Aapka toh indo-western business hai aur mein saris bhi introduce karwadoongi. Dekhtey rahiye main kaisi halchal lekey aaoongi saris mein."

Shabd sighs and holds his head with two hands as if he is getting mad and Mahi bursts into laughter.
But Shabd couldn't change her in addressing him "aap" to "tum".

She says she likes it that way and he says 'I hate it'. She laughs he grins. Both fight on the topic and Mahi wins all the time as he likes to see her happy.
Now he could share his feelings about some intense scenes between the hero heroines too. He comments how much close the heroine and hero could go in love scenes and Mahi always protest his opinion. He loves to argue with Mahi as he could get more of her smile, talk and time.

Now Mahi demands him to do her projects when he gets home late "Aap ghar kyon late aye they? I was waiting for you since 7. Abb samajhye ki yeh aapka punishment hai." He likes her demanding and ordering him.
Raaji and Veena tried many methods to change Mahi's treatment towards Shabd but she always changes the topic. Soni arranged a grand party on her son's first birthday.

Mahi got ready in parrot green chiffon sari with kanta work and matching jewelry. She braided her hair and put a rose on side. Shabd sighed "Yeh kya 70's ki style mein taiyyar huva hai? Why don't you wear some classy dress?"

Mahi irritated "Aap humesha mere sari ki peecha padey rahta hai. Main kahin disco pey jaa rahi hoon kya? Aaj mera bhatija ka birthday hai wo bhi ghar mein. Mein theek hoon."

Shabd muttered under breath "I didn't like it all" Mahi heard him "If you don't like me you need not come with me. I'll go with Dayi Maa." She walked past him and asked DM to follow her. Shabd came running to her "Don't I even have a right to comment on you? After all you are my wife."

Mahi angrily turns and keeps hands on waist "Toh, I have to live as per your wishes? Meri marzi aur meri make-up. Main aisey hi aaoongi."

DM watches them adoringly with a big cheer on her face by holding her hand near mouth. She loves to see Shabd and Mahi fighting for fun. But this time the matter went a little serious, she thought.

Both are serious until they reached Soni's party. All Khuranas and Malhotras warmly received Sareen family.
"Aaj meri Mahi ki muh kyon utri huyi hai?" Raaji held Mahi's chin seeing her serious face. Veena came to her "Itni khubsurat chehray mein ek hassen mushkurahat lagey toh Wah wah kya baat hogi".

"Agar who mushkurahat hogi toh humara Shabd bhai yahan tak aaney deta hai kya? Kahin sunsaan jagah par nahin lejaata apni laadli ko?" Jyoti also started chiding Mahi.

Mahi gave a sharp look at Shabd who is lovingly staring at her. She understood Shabd made her angry till now to see her reaction. She smiled in her mind and continued the same anger on her face and moved away from there. Raaji, Veena, Soni and Jyoti laughed loudly giving side glances to Shabd. Jeet and Veer punched his sides playfully and took him inside.

Mahi forgot everything and became normal in no time when she saw the kids around her. Shabd involved in everyplace wherever Mahi spent her time. But Mahi avoided eye contact and speech contact. On the way back Mahi slept in DM's lap and Shabd couldn't speak to her.
Morning at breakfast Shabd saw Mahi in still lost mood. She gestured DM about her mood and DM shrugged. He coughed twice and settled his throat several times but Mahi didn't distract from whatever she is doing. She is waiting for the breakfast and DM is busy in the kitchen in pouring the badam kheer in glasses. She is observing the couple by giving side glances.

She adores the couple as they are reminding Sareen and Gouri in their earlier days. She remembered them and smiled "Sareen toh Gouri jaaney ke baad hasna hi bhul gaya tha. Kitna pyar karta tha ussey. Shabd toh bilkul apna papa pey hi gaya hai. Wahi pyar bhara mann, haseen chehra, wahi patience. Mahi bada soubhagya wali hai"
"DM! lagta hai raat ka khana sabko bahut spicey laga tha." He gave side glance to Mahi and she turned her face as she understood he meant about her. DM tried to hide her smile and served the kheer. Mahi fastly drank the kheer and got up from chair.

"Dayi Maa! Mein chali. Kal spicey hi nahin aur bhi kuch jaada laga hai kissi ko." Shabd burst into laugh and stopped Mahi by grabbing her wrist. "Wait, I'll drop you."

"Koyi jaroorat nahin, mein jaa sakti hoon." Mahi stopped but showed attitude. Shabd put on shoes "mein bhi ussi taraf jaa raha hoon. I'll drop you." Mahi bid bye to DM and followed him. Mahi is still angry and turned her face away from Shabd. Shabd smiled himself and concentrated on driving. Mahi got down at the college without bidding bye.

"Bye nahin kahogi? Shabd continued when Mahi stood with fallen face, "Tumhey pamper karney ki mouka do Mahi! Tab main batoongi tum kitna khubsurat ho." Mahi startled and looked into his eyes. His eyes are staring at her with naughty and passionate expression. Mahi's face flushed blood out and bit lower lip. Shabd lifted her chin with his forefinger and Mahi threw his hand "Chal hutiye" and ran away into the college.

Part: 8

Mahi finished her 2nd year exams successfully and entered into 3rd year of college. She started having industrial excursions. She visited different fabric manufacturing companies and clothing companies. She is so excited and kept dreaming about her future.


Shabd is having many tours now and couldn't concentrate on Mahi's studies. Mahi put more efforts on her studies now as she felt left alone without Shabd's supervision or assistance in her studies. She stopped going to parties, movies, even to her maayka. Mohini requested her many times to spend time with them as Shabd is out of town but Mahi softly refused on excuse of her studies. Raaji and Soni became busy with their own routines.


Mahi finished her half year exams and relaxing in her couch reading a fashion magazine sipping tea.

She got up to see when the phone rang. "Hai, MahiRani! How are you? How did you do your exams?" Shabd enquired with great affection.

Shabd started calling her 'MahiRani' for last few months as their intimacy developed a little closer. Mahi is excited "Shabd! Aap? When will you be back? I'm missing you." Mahi bit tongue after realizing what she just said.


Shabd is also shocked with excitement "Mahi! Phirsey kaho"


Mahi pouted her lips "I was having so many doubts about my projects. You helped me out every time. I tried your cell couple of times. But you didn't even respond." She covered herself and blamed him.

Shabd laughed at other end thinking "Yeh Mahi bhi kabhi confess kudh nahin karegi, mujhey hi kuch karna padega;" and he apologized "Sorry, MahiRani! I was totally busy and couldn't reply. I just realized you might have finished with your exams and felt like enquiring you."


"Thanks, Atleast you remembered now" Mahi taunted him.


"MahiRani! Gussa mat hojaao. Tumhara yeh deewana par reham karo"


Mahi chuckled "Kiyajayega agar aap abjhi ki abhi yahan tasveer rakhey toh."


"Okay rakhdiya" Mahi dropped her jaw for his sudden appearance.

Shabd winked at her "So, You missed me and you say coz of your projects!!" he looked at her with naughty expressions.

Mahi blushed and bit her lower lip. He took advantage of the situation and walked close to her. She startled and took steps backward and stopped when she has no way to escape as she hit the wall.

Shabd laughed and pinched her nose "My darling MahiRani! I love you. I love your excuses. Jab yeh excuses khatam hongey na tab bataoonga miss karna kya hota hai."' He caressed her cheeks making her chuckle and blush.
"Iss kushi mein ek movie par chaley?"


Mahi shook her head sideways "Nahin long drive par chalengey, movie mein hum don kya baat karengey bus movie dekhtey rahengey."


Shabd dropped her jaw after hearing her and looked at her unbelievingly. He rolled his tongue as he is noticing some development in Mahi's affection towards him. "So, she really missed me!! great change!!" he thought happily in his mind.


Mahi again bit her tongue in mind and searched for words "Mera matlab hai ki, you want to spend time with me so, we can talk here or drive par..wo..actually … I'm okay with movie, if you really want…to.." She mumbled.

Shabd smiled as he understood her "Chalo, drive per hi chaltey hai, I too want to share something about my trip. It's useful for your studies and career."


Mahi relieved and shook her head and went to get ready. Shabd took her on long drive and they talked only about the business and her studies. Mahi relieved completely and thanked Shabd for saving her from temptations.

Part: 9

Mahi is busy with her projects and now she learnt to expose herself independently. Shabd also became busy and leaving Mahi for herself alone.

Mahi didn't neglect any of his work and Shabd never forgot to update his work related news. They still fight on small topics and go to Dayi Maa for solutions.

One day Mahi finished her college early and went to her parent's house. Raaji and Soni also came there to spend time with each other along with parents. They surprised for sudden visit of Mahi and teased her "Shabd ko chod kar tum akeli kaisi ayi hai, Mahi?" Mahi pouted her lips "Mammiji! Dekhiye nay eh donon kaisey sata rahey hai?"

Mohini supported them "Wo theeky keh rehay hai. Tum yahan ana hi band kar diya. Jab bhi poochoon kuch na kuch excuse deti ho. Abb kaisi hum yaad aagayi?" Raaji chided her.

"Bus di! Shabd toh aaj kal bahut tours kar raha hai aur mera bhi mann kar rahi thi aap sabse milney aur bachon sey khelney ki." Mahi defended herself.

"Abb aur ek saal rehgaya apni khud ki bachon sey khelney ke liye" Nani massi joined in teasing Mahi.

"Chalo, mein toh yahan aana pura band hi kardoongi agar aap mujhey chidna band nahin karey toh" she stumped her feet and sat beside Brij. He smiled and caressed her head. "Padhayi kaisey chal raha hai, Mahi beti?"

"theek chalraha hai papaji!" They both talked about her studies for a while. Mahi forgot herself and immersed in explaining about her ambitions and future plans and her future work with Shabd.

Brij told Mohini in the bed how much Mahi is involved in her studies. "yeh padhayi karkey abb shabd ke saat dena chahti hai. Wo donon ek dooserey ko samjhey iskey alawa humey bhi kya chahiye!!" he praised both Mahi and Shabd about their determination.

Mahi couldn't sleep thinking about Shabd and her sisters' teases. Abb ek saal padhayi theek thaak chaley, aur meri khwaayishey puri hojaay." She again strengthened her decision.

Two months after One day, when Mahi returned home from her college she found a beautiful woman talking closely to Shabd. She wondered as Shabd never brought his friends or colleagues home especially women. Mahi smiled at the lady and Shabd introduced them to each other.

"Mahi! She is my childhood friend, Suhani Jain. She is a professor in Fashion Technology in International Academy of Design and Technology, Chicago. She came here to teach our employees some technical expertise. She will be here for two years. She bought an apartment which will be available in two months. Meanwhile she will stay with us for atleast two months."

Suhani shook her hand with Mahi and Mahi reciprocated. Mahi got freshen up and helped Dayi Maa and the chef to arrange the dinner table.

Suhani is very friendly and talked about many subjects about the latest technology in Fashion industry. Mahi liked her way of explanation and gathered a lot of matter about her studies and her future plans.

Mahi left to her room after dinner while Shabd and Suhani spent more time in study room and later in guest room where Suhani is going to stay for next two months.

Mahi, somehow felt discomfort about Suhani and her friendliness with Shabd. She couldn't concentrate much on her studies that night. She closed her books and lay on the bed early than usual time. "Yeh kya insecure feel kar rahi hoon? Wo toh Shabd ki dost hai. And she will stay only two months. Phir kyon mera mann discomfort feel kar rahi hai?"

Shabd noticed frown on Mahi's face while he is lying on the bed. He caressed her temples to make her comfortable. Mahi opened her eyes and saw him and closed her eyes with a smile. She felt comfortable with his pampering.

Morning Mahi set everything ready for Shabd as usual and left for college alone as Shabd is busy with Suhani. That night at dinner Suhani took initiative and helped Mahi and Dayi Maa despite of their warnings.

"Mein yahan do mahina rehni wali hoon aur agar mujhey kuch bhi kaam nahin kardiya toh main moti ho jaaoongi. Shabd bhi office mein kuch bhi kaam karney nahin deta hai. Sab log itna pamper karey toh mujhey jaaney ka mann bhi nahin karega." Suhani told pleadingly.

Mahi felt jealous at Suhani's statements "Yeh kyon ussey paper karey? Yeh toh sirf dost haina?" She tried to suppress her jealous and behave normal.

Suhani cut jokes at Shabd and talked about Shabd as how he was in his school. Shabd warned her not to reveal everything and Suhani jovially laughed at his fear.

Mahi and Dayi Maa exchanged their looks at their intimacy. Second night Mahi disturbed with her studies and sleeps. Shabd spent more time with Suhani as they both shared more time about their childhood memories. He came to bed early morning and without disturbing Mahi he slept in the couch.

Mahi got up late next morning as she had disturbed sleep last night. By the time she got ready Shabd and Suhani already got ready at breakfast table.

Mahi apologized but Shabd warned her, "Suhani helped, Mahi! Don't worry. One day if you miss my work nothing is going to fall wrong." Mahi thanked Suhani and Suhani smiled "It's my pleasure Mahi! After all this is my friend's house."

Mahi came late from college as she had extra project and Shabd and Suhani finished their dinner early as they had to work on some project. Mahi slept without eating as unusual and Dayi Maa felt something wrong is going in Mahi's mind.

Next morning Mahi got up late again but with mild headache. She tried to skip her breakfast and Dayi Maa held her "Mahi! Kya horaha hai?" Mahi tried to hide her feelings and get away. But Dayi Maa stopped her "Kahin tum Suhani aur Shabd ko lekey pareshan toh nahin?" Mai startled for her direct enquiry and shook her head sideways.

Dayi Maa smiled at her "Wo donon sirf dost hai. Iskey siwa un donon ke beech kuch bhi nahin hai. Tumhara dimaak per jore mat daalo aur padhayi per dhyan do. Ab tak itna determination laga kar pad rahi ho. ab wo adhura mat rukney do."

Mahi smiled and shook head as she relieved from Dayi Maa's counseling. She again resumed her interest on studies and continued with more enthusiasm.
