One evening before final semester Shabd informed Mahi to visit his company to familiarize with the surroundings. "Raj bhi aa sakta hai?' she excitedly asked. Shabd surprisingly looked at her. Mahi searched for words and covered herself "Mera matlab hai ki hum sab, kin logon ney internship ke liye apply kiya tha wo sab."
Shabd smiled and nodded his head "haan, wo sab ko Inform karo. This Sunday you all can come. Car ready rakhney ko kehta hoon aur tum le aasakti ho."
Mahi is jumped with excitement and ran to Shabd and hugged and kissed on his cheeks "Thanks, Shabd! You are awesome. Mein abhi sab ko batati hoon."
Shabd laughed for her excitement and caressed his cheeks and noticed she didn't even realize what she was doing. Mahi ran to the phone and called Raj and other friends. She spoke with Raj for half an hour and explained and planned what they do there and what information they really should look into.
Shabd silently observed her "does she like Raj? Is this just friendship or more than that? Why is she so excited to talk to him? And she is very particular about him? He is coming tomorrow; anyway, let me see how he is."
Mahi spent two hours on the phone and lay on the bed. Her face is still glowing out of the excitement and her eyes are dreaming about the visit. Shabd checked his e-mails, and other office work and slept late. Mahi already in deep sleep by the time he lay on the bed. He caressed her forehead and temples as usual and kissed her forehead and slept.
Sunday, Mahi got ready with special care in white Organza with multi colored border and a paint of female figurine on the pallu and with matching light pearl set. She picked all her friends and headed to Shabd's company.
Suhani received all of them and took into conference room for warm-up. She arranged for some condiments for them and she explained what they are going to see and what they have to particularly observe.
All students are excited at the textile models, texture varieties, and computer technology on designing, everything about latest technology. Mahi is totally into the subject and took big notes.
After two hours of touring, all students were taken into canteen for lunch arranged by Shad on occasion of their first tour. All students including Raj praised Mahi. "We all are so lucky to have you in our college as our classmate. You are lucky to have such a good husband. He is so caring and loving. He cares so much about you and your studies. He must be the first person we saw who could allow his wife to study after marriage."
Mahi is totally flat with those comments and felt proud about Shabd. "Such much I'm so lucky to have him in my life and as my husband."
Shabd came after the lunch to introduce himself with all students. He took special interest in Raj, a young student who is ambitious like Mahi. Shabd thought they both have similar interests and thoughts about their future projects. They are equally talented and ambitious. No wonder Mahi is fascinated by him. He promised all of them for helping in completing their internship successfully.
Mahi explained everything from start to end to Dayi Maa till Shabd came for dinner. Shabd teased her "lagta hai abb next year end tak humey issi ki excitement sunna padega." Mahi pouted her mouth and hugged DM from behind "Aap ko bore lagey toh koyi majboor nahin hai. Hum Dayi Maa ko sunayengey."
Shabd smiled "Arey shadi kiya toh sab kuch harna padega na. Pati hoon, patni ki har khwaish poori karna humara farz toh hai." Mahi blushed and thanked him for everything he provided today in the tour. Shabd got up and dramatically bent in front of her "Aapki seva mein humesha haazir hoon, Rani saheba!"
Mahi blushed and Dayi Maa took nazar to both of them.
Shabd is reading some magazine as per routine after diner. Mahi came and settled in front of his feet. Shabd surprised "yeh kya, do you need anything?"
Mahi shook her head sideway and rested her head on his knees "Aaj mein bahut kush hoon. Thanks a lot for everything."
Shabd put his magazine aside and lifted her face up "Yeh sab tumhari hai, Mahi! Bus tum kush raho, that's enough for me." Mahi filled tears and kissed his palm and touched to her cheek and closed her eyes.
"Yeh kya hai? Pagli!!" Mahi blushed "haan, mein pagli hi hoon. I couldn't recognize you. I thought you married me to ruin my life. But you saved my life. You kept my ambitions alive. You tolerated all my mischief, my anger, my temperament and my foolishness. Aap mujhey meri apni parents sey bhi jada samjhliya hai. Thanks for your patience."
Shabd pressed her head "Bus bahut hogaya. Abb jakar sojao. Tumhari neend karab hojayegi."
Mahi smiled and got up and took his hand "Chaliya, sojayengey." Shabd surprised and walked with her. She lay on the bed and asked him also to lie beside her. She circled her hand around his waist and rested her head on his chest. Shabd circled his hand around her and closed his eyes.
Mahi became an icon in her college and everyone started appreciating her husband and her luck. Mahi is feeling like living in seventh heaven. Her respects on Shabd multiplied with pride.
Mahi finished her exams successfully and joined Shabd's company as apprentice. Raj and other friends also joined along with her. Suhani became their ideal professor. Mahi is totally involved in her projects and inventing new designs.
After two months Shabd put an agenda to introduce saris with his existing products. Mahi felt happy for it. She started taking initiative to give different new designs. Now designing, implementing, became Mahi's all the time entertainment.
One day Mahi is busy with her co-apprentice and Suhani and Shabd are walking in the corridor to leave the office. Dipti whispered "tumsey jada wo Suhani ma'm Shabd sir ki biwi lagti hai."
Mahi startled and angrily looked at her. "Arey mujh par kyon gussa utar rahi ho. Wahan dekho wo donon kaisey haat mein haat daal ke chal rahey hai. Meiney kabhi tumhey aisa nahin dekhi" she shrug her shoulders and showed at Shabd and Suhani. Suhani is talking something and Shabd is laughing at her dropping his hand around her shoulder. Mahi felt jealous and thought the truth behind her friend's statements. Shabd suddenly turned to her as her looks caressed him. He surprised for Mahi's looks and felt conscious and checked himself engulfed with Suhani. He removed his hand and moved a little distant and again looked into Mahi's eyes. Mahi turned her eyes as his smiley looks taunted her. She walked away from there but turned back to see his eyes still following her.
Usually Shabd teases Mahi indirectly and Mahi taunts him equally. Shabd noticed Mahi silently having dinner as she usually blabber about her day with her friends and studies. "DM! Aaj ghar itna khamosh kyon hai? Aaj kissi ki silent vrat hai kya?" Mahi knows that statement is about her but kept silent and finished her dinner fast and ran into her room. Shabd raised his eyebrow at DM and she smiled shrugging.
Shabd couldn't concentrate on magazine and watching Mahi with side glance. Mahi buried her face in the pillow and lay face down. Shabd lay beside her and bent on her "Why are you so upset, Rani!"
"Mera naam Mahi hai, Rani ya Suhani nahin" Mahi bluntly replied without turning face at him. Shabd rolled his tongue "Toh Suhani per gussa itna tez hota hai? What did that bechari do?"
Mahi gave sharp looks at him "Wo bechari kuch nahin kei uski beloved friend ney kiya tha."
Shabd mischievously looked at her "wo beloved friend ney kya kiya tha?'
Mahi got up and sat cross legged "Dekhiye Shabd! I don't have any objection whatever way you treat Suhani but mere friends ke saamney kuch dignifiedly behave karna tha. Wo mera mazak uda rahay hai."
Shabd sympathetically shook his head "Wohoho! So, yeh baat hai meri Rani ki gussa ki karan? I'm sorry, yeh galati phir nahin karunga" he bent and held his ears as apologizing.
Mahi blushed and smiled "Thanks" and went into her original place burying her face into pillow.
Shabd smiled "She is getting jealous but not confessing. She is taking support of her friends."
Mahi started observing Shabd next day whenever she got a chance. At the same time she didn't give any scope to her friends to say anything about her and Shabd or Suhani. She was caught by Shabd few times while she is staring at him. Shabd felt proud for her possessiveness.
At lunch time in the canteen all friends are having lunch talking about some general topics. The peon came and bought some lunch and leaving the room. Dipti gestured Mahi with eyes to look at the peon. Mahi twisted her eyebrows and whispered "Kya hai?"
Dipti hit her head "Pata hai wo kisko lunch lekey jaa raha hai?" Mahi confusingly moved her face sideways and Dipti called the peon "Guddu saab! Yeh lunch kiskey liye?" Peon giggled as she addressed him 'saab' and scratched his head "Dipti Madam! yeh Suhani madam aur Shabad sir ke liye"
"Acha? Okay! Aap jaa saktey hai" Dipti sarcastically imitated him and sent him away and gave side looks to Mahi and sighed loudly. All other friends laughed "Mahi! Beware of friends!!"
Mahi got angry on them "Tum log kuch bhi kehdetey hai. Shabd is not like that. Anyway it's my fault I'm spending more time with you than him as I want to be professional rather than his wife." She fumed and silently finished her lunch. Everyone stopped annoying her as Dipti also signaled them to be quiet.
Mahi felt bad for the comments "Yeh Shabd bhi na, kuch jada hi hamdard dikhata hai. Jab mein yahan nahin thi tab ki baat aur thi, but when I was working here he shouldn't give any scope for such comments. Pata nahin mere absence mein yeh sab log kya kya kehtay hongay."
She finished her with absent minded and waited for Shabd to go home with him. But the driver informed her that he has some meeting and takes time to come home.
Mahi left home and finished her rest of work as usual. Mahi noticed Shabd entering in the room and closed her magazine. "Hi! How was the day?" Shabd greeted her while changing his dress. Mahi didn't answer him but lay on the bed. Shabd confusingly looked at her "Phir sey gussa? Aaj bhi kuch hua tha kya? I was careful with Suhani and didn't talk her closely, phir??" he finished his shower and went to have dinner. DM is also silent as Shabd fell deep into thoughts.
When he returned Mahi is tossing on the bed and turned the other way when she noticed him. Shabd smiled and settled beside her. "Aaj kya hua, Mahi?" Mahi is silently scribbling on the pillow. He waited for a moment and turned her to his side. "Bataogi nahin?" Mahi twisted her lips.
"Jalan horaha hai?" he paused to see expressions in her face "Suhani means nothing to me, she is just a friend. Tuhi mera sab kuch hai" he whispered.
"Sab log kuch na kuch ketey hai" she mumbled.
"Sab logon ki chodo tum kya sochti ho?" Mahi moved her head as nothing.
He kissed in her ear. Mahi closed her eyes with hands. He removed her hands from her face and caressed her cheeks and softly kissed. She still closed her eyes enjoying his warmth. Shabd surprised for her positive behavior and moved his lips to her eyes. Mahi's breath became heavy and Shabd smiled as noticed it. He slowly caressed her forehead, chin wit his lips. He understood her inclining to his love and softly touched her lips. Mahi gasped and heaved her breath out and her hands tightened grip on his shoulder. Shabd looked at them and smiled.
"Mahi! Look at me" he whispered. Mahi moved her head from left to right and closed her face with her hands.
Shabd hugged her and kissed loudly on her hands. He removed her hands and locked behind his neck. He kissed her neck and throat and made her love him back. Mahi gave herself completely with full will. Both forgot the world in no time.
