Kripa saw a park in front of her. No one was there and it was pretty dark outside. She was wearing a white dress with her hair down. Angad extended his hand out and Kripa slipped her hand in his.
Kripa- Angad, what are we doing here?
Angad- Shhh
Kripa saw a table with candles on it. The table was near a gorgeous water fountain with water sparking out ten twelve feet in the air. There were lights around the water fountain which gave the water color. She smiled.
K- A date in the park?
A- Yes madam
Angad pulled Kripa's chair out for her. She sat down and Angad also sat down.
Angad poured two glasses of champagne.
K- Angad, why is this table set for five?
A- Babe, no questions, tonight I'll be asking the question
K- What do you mean?
A- oh....nothing
K- Angad, when you came into my life for the second time, I never thought we would be where we are today. I don't know if I say this enough, but I really love you a lot. Without you, my life is lifeless. You taught me to love myself, love life. I want to be with you the rest of my life.
A- Kripa, how much do you love?
K- More than you can imagine
A- So you can do anything for me?
K- Any doubt?
A- I tad bit, can I test you?
K- Angad, I can do anything for you, go ahead, test me
A- Alright, Kripa Sharma will you marry me?
K- What?!
A- Will you marry me? See, I knew you were bluffing
K- Angad.....you're proposing to me?
A- Yea
A- Here, I'll do it the proper way
Angad got on his knees and smiled. He got the ring out of his pocket and held it.
A- Kripa Sharma, will you marry me?
Kripa had tears in her eyes, she smiled, hugged, and kissed him.
K- Angad, I love you, I love you, I love you!
Kripa kissed him again on the lips.
A- So that means yes, right?
K- Yes it means yes! But .........wait.......what about the kids, we should talk to them before making any decision.
A- Kripa, I'm one step ahead of you
K- What do you-----
Before Kripa could continue she saw Rahul, Payal, and Riya come towards her.
K- Where did you guys come from?
Payal- The driver brought us here mommy
Riya- Dad told us he was going to propose
Rahul- Yea mom, he had this planned, he asked us if it was okay
Kripa- You all are okay with it, right?
Payal- Yes mommy, if you're happy, we're happy
Kripa looked with her eyes full of tears.
K- Angad.....I'm speechless
A- I'm still waiting for my yes
K- Angad, yes, of coarse I'll marry you!
Angad smiled as she confirmed her yes and he slipped the ring into her finger and kissed her.
They both parted as they remembered the kids were watching them.
Angad- Come here guys
The kids ran and hugged them both.
After they ate the kids were playing on the swing set.
K- Angad, this ring is beautiful
A- That's just the engagement ring, wait till the wedding ring
K- Angad, there's no need to buy a really expensive ring
A- Kripa, I'm buying it so I'll decide how it's going to be, besides my to-be-wife deserves nothing but the best, got it?
K- Angad, you're crazy
A- So what do you think, a week from now we'll get married
K- A week from now! Are you kidding me, there's so many preparations to get done and so much to do, people get married usually three to six months at least after their engagement, and you're saying a week, wow.
A- Come on, I promise, in one week I'll have all the wedding arrangements done, you just worry about packing your bags to shift to my house
K- So you'll take care of everything?
A- Of coarse, I'm Angad Khanna after all
K- Oh, how could I forget, anyways, we'll have a small wedding with close friends and relatives
A- Your wish is my command
K- Wow, I never knew I would have such an obedient husband
A- I know, lucky you, oh yea, before I forget, give me your parents address so I could send the card
K- My parents....address......erm.....you see, I think they'll get a bit angry if they don't hear it from their daughter first that she's getting married, so I'll call them and tell them myself, and as long as a card is concerned.......there's no formality, their my parents
A- Alright, whatever you say
Kripa looked at the sky when she heard a thunder.
K- I think it's about to rain
A- Yea, your right
K- Let's go home
A- Alright, I'll go get the kids
Kripa watched Angad run to the kids and tell them. She could hear them whine to stay longer, but they eventually gave in. She saw Angad pick up Payal and carry her on his shoulders. She smiled. She noticed how happy the three children were, till date she only had two, but from today onwards she would give Riya the same love she gave Payal and Rahul, not because she was marrying Riya's father, but because an innocent, sweet child like Riya deserves a mother's love, which till date she's lacked, and Kripa wanted to give her everything she could which would bring a smile on Riya's face.
She watched Rahul and Angad racing back to her, with Payal yelling on his shoulders "Go Angad, Go!"
She watched as Angad let Rahul win, by "accidently" tripping.
Payal- Angad, we lost
Angad- Well, Rahul is a strong competitor, but we'll get him next time
Riya- Dad, it's raining
Angad- Shit
Kripa- Angad, don't say those words in front of the kids
Angad- Come on Kripa, they're going to here it one day
Kripa- Angad, uff, forget it, come on, lets get into the car before we become drenched and before the kids catch colds
Angad dropped Kripa and Rahul, Payal off at their house and left. When Kripa came in she was surprised to see Prithvi sitting on the couch. Payal ran to him and jumped into his lap.
Payal- Daddy!!!!!
Prithvi hugged and kissed her.
Prithvi- How's my princess doing?
Payal- Not good, you told us you were going to come last time but you never dad, you're a very bad daddy!
Prithvi- Payal, you got the gifts I sent you, didn't you?
Payal- Yes, but Rahul says gifts won't make up for you not being here, and he's right too!
Prithvi gave a half smile. He held his ears and said "sorry."
Payal- ........it's okay.
Prithvi- Rahul, you won't come meet me?
Rahul walked past Prithvi and went to his room.
Kripa- Payal, you go change into your pajamas
Payal- Okay mommy
Payal turned around and looked at Prithvi.
Payal- Daddy
Prithvi- Yea
Payal- Please don't leave this time
Prithiv- I won't, I promise
Payal smiled and also went to her room.
Prithvi- I should go check on Rahul
Kripa- Wait Prithvi........why are you here?
Prithvi- To meet the kids
Kripa- Why? You weren't concerned about them last time when you didn't show up, so why now?
Prithvi- I told you, things came up
Kripa- I don't want to discuss this, how'd you get into the house?
Prithvi- Your neighbor, that old lady let me in, by the way, where were you guys, it's 11:30 and it's raining outside now
Kripa- Not that I need to tell you, but I still will. I was with my boyfriend who proposed to me today.
Prithvi was speechless. He couldn't believe Kripa was engaged. It made him angry. Since their divorce he never really worried about Kripa becoming someone else's since she never dated. He still felt she loved him and was only his. It was true he cheated on her, but that didn't mean she couldn't forgive him. It was also true he dated, but if Kripa would forgive him then he would leave all of them in a second for her.
Kripa- Prithvi, Prithvi!
Prithvi snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her again.
Prithvi- Who is he?
Kripa- His name is Angad Khanna
Prithvi- And.....and the kids are okay with this?
Kripa- Why wouldn't they be, he's a nice guy
P- I don't think you should get married again......I mean, the kids.......what if he's the mean step father kind.....my kids lives will be ruined
K- Prithvi, the kids like him and he loves them too. He won't be the nasty step father kind because he'll give them a father's love, something you've never been able to give them
P- What the hell are you talking about?, I've given the kids a father's love, if that wasn't the case then Payal wouldn't be calling me up everyday asking me to come meet her, and if that wasn't the case then your son Rahul wouldn't be calling me dad, got that?
K- My son Rahul, sorry Prithvi, I thought he was our son. But today I know, you never did accept him, for you he was always the boy who's father's name you didn't know!
Prithvi raised his hand and smacked Kripa across the cheek.
Kripa- Prithvi, how date you hit me, you don't have any right to hit me. And by hitting me, the truth won't change.
Prithvi- Oh shut up Kripa, I came half way across the world to meet you guys, and this is the welcome you give me? Fine, if you said so much today then even I'll add on to it. If I cheated on you then it was your fault, you never told me anything about Rahul's dad, not even his name, everyday I had to live with the fact that my wife slept with someone besides me, and that's exactly what led me to sleep with someone else! Every time I look at your son it reminds me of you sleeping with someone before we got married!
K- I never told you to marry me Prithvi, it was you that wanted to marry me knowing I was pregnant with someone else's child. I told you everything, but you insisted that you loved me and you would give my child the love he deserved, but did you?
P- I tried to, but what can I do if he doesn't like me?
K- Ask yourself why he doesn't like you and maybe you'll get the answer
P- Oh shut up Kripa, he doesn't like me because he has the same blood of his father's, God knows who he was, why you slept with him, and where he is.
K- That's none of your business since the day we divorced. You never asked me anything about his dad when we were married, if it bothered you this much then I would of told you.
P- I guess it's too late for that now
K- You----
Rahul- Mom
Kripa and Prithvi both turned around and saw Payal and Rahul. They both didn't know if they had heard everything or anything at all.
K- Erm......yea Rahul
R- He's not my dad, is he?
K- Rahul, what are you saying, Prithvi---
R- I heard everything mom...........why didn't you ever tell me the truth?
Payal- Are you not my dad either daddy?
Prithvi looked at Kripa.
P- Great, my own daughter thinks I'm not her dad now
K- Prithvi, you go, I'll explain to them everything, but while you're here I don't want to be in the same room as you!
P- Fine, I'm going to my house that I bought here, it's on the other side of town, here I'll give you my house number if you need anything
K- Trust me, I won't call you
Prithvi shook his head and was walking towards the door. He looked at Payal though.
Prithvi- Payal
Payal- What?
Prithvi- I may not be Rahul's real dad, but I am yours
Payal- Why can't you be Rahul's real dad? If you're not my brother's dad, then I won't let you be mine either
Prithvi- See the misunderstandings that you've caused Kripa, you better take care of things
After that Prithvi left. Kripa really hated him. How could he say so much about Rahul, she all these years that he thought of Rahul as a son, she thought he would give him more love the anyone else could, but she was so wrong, it was all a lie.
She saw Payal and Rahul looking at her. They both had so many questions in their eyes. Kripa knew they were too young to be going through all this, but she had to tell them the truth.
