“I know” she nodded trying not to cry

“I want to be there for you and the baby,babies we might have” he said clearing his throat

“Hmm” she sat down under the weight of hiswords

“I am not going to be OK with him. I am notcharitable at all. You knew that when you married me”

“I know… I wont… I wont return the store untilyou find the deed” he promised huskily

“I don’t want it either”

“I will pay you market value and return thestore when you find the deed and pay me what I offered to pay for it. I don’t wanta dime extra. The store at Zenith Astro will be yours”

She was emotional and angry all at the sametime

“I know you cherish your Dad’s books I willnot let him have it. I might have to hurt him in the process I don’t care”

“You shouldn’t” she warned

“I am having the books brought here”

“My mother will break the locks and have themdispositioned soon

“Please don’t”

“I am not going to sit around and watch himrob your family”

“Did you forget you said moments ago that youcannot be charitable”

She glared at him

“I don’t know what he said to you, I have noplans to hurt you or destroy you” he said softly

He sat down on the carpet and grabbed herhands

“Is that Gaurav talking?

“Tumhe kya lagta hai sirf Gaurav aisa sochsakta hai?”

“I love motorcycles. I love being a Dad. Orhowever its going to be… you know, I WANT to be one”

“Oh good you mentioned motorcycles and baby”she clapped softly

He smiled first and then laughed

“Didn’t I just tell you I want you here”

He reached and she leaned back

“?” her expression didn’t change

“Roonie….”

“Matlab… bas bacha aur motorcycles”

“Its all about you” he whispered

Good she asked.

They talked about Gaurav. Thats good. They need to bring things out in the open.

So Prad is not thinking about putting another store where The Quill was? The book store is still projected to keep that location? When its all set up properly, this store can be a high end store in its own right with those precious rare books.

She counts more than the baby and the motorcycles. He said it.

How is he planning to get those books without breaking in?

Sparkle in a Speck

Indraneel Deshmukh scrolled through the dating app… paused on a face and continued swiping.

Women disgusted him. He had no use for them. Except in bed for pleasure. He was done with the species from an emotional standpoint. He got up and grabbed some really bad coffee. He was an auditor and was placed at a large tech consulting firm for the annual SOX compliance audit. He looked like an accountant too. Clean cut hair, glasses and a munshi like thick moustache, he could very well be lost in a crowd

He worked for a reputable firm in Pune. He made good money, lived with his Dad and his sister’s family.

Sister in law, Suhasini worked as a surveyor for the public works department, his brother Manas worked for Pune’s transportation department as a IT Engineer. They had lived in Pune all their life.

Their two kids adored Indraneel! That was about it. His family didn’t really talk much to him. He went home late, and left home early

He didn’t. But didn’t hesitate to hook up on the fly. He had lost count of the women he had been with the last 2 years since his engagement and almost wedding broke up

Pankaja Vyas threw the last graded notebook on top of a tall stack. Her Ajji turned the roti in the steaming hot kitchen. Uttara her younger sister worked at a call center, their brother Prayag was in med school.

“Punky…. Come get your food” Ajji hollered from the kitchen

“Ajjeee” she sprinted

The mirror swept up her reflection

She would never go unnoticed. Short, slender and braided hair went down her curves in the back, large doe like eyes, accentuated the high cheek bones and full lips

She did not look 32.

“Give this to Uttu” Ajee instructed

“Mircheee?” she giggled

“Mee karna” she nodded

She passed by her parents garlanded photos

She offered the plate in obeisance.

“Come straight home after school, no tuition” Ajee warned

Her heart skipped a beat. She was going to meet a new groom. There had been many. None agreed when they heard she was responsible for Ajji Uttara and Prayag!!

You are already starting another story. That means this one is about to end. Hope a few episodes are coming though to wrap it up.
