Winning the gold…(digger)
Cleo walked all over the beautiful white rug in the newly renovated heated bathroom floor
She was trying to pick a salwar for her dark pink kurta
Cleo was all over her feet and legs
She yelped and almost fell into her hanging clothes
He whistled and she scampered back to him
“Cleao, Viveka” “Viveka Cleo” he introduced lamely
“I am guessing she will do the laundry? All my stuff that has her muddy paw prints?” she challenged him
“I am guessing not” he said firmly approaching the icy glare of irritation at her insult of Cleo, turning into something else
“Baar baar paseeney mere mere paas paas bilqul mat aao” she warned
Cleo paced her closet like there was someone buried in there
“Isko kya hua?” she scowled
“I will ask her” his voice deepened and slowed to an explicit sexy drawl
All the tension in him aiming at one single outcome.
He appeared inches from her she leaned on a wall of mirrors
“I want to just take you to bed right now” he growled angrily
“Well I am getting ready for dinner”
He scowled
“Vi… I don’t care…”
He didn’t even touch her
Captured her soft upturned chin, and looked into her eyes
“Why did u get a GIRL dog?”
“they were all out of boys”
He brought his mouth down slowly to part over hers, sinking them both into the lethargy of a delicious, hunger inducing, luscious blissfully uninterrupted kiss
She trembled clutching his tee in her fist
Cleo growled disrupting the fantasy
The dog tried to walk between their legs
He chuckled stepping back stepping on her tail almost
“Is this how she behaved when you brought women home?” Viveka muttered casually
“Never women… only WOMAN”
“Sure… sorry” she said coldly
He reached for her hand
“Kya kar rahe ho”
“I cannot explain every time” he mocked her
“Kya kar rahe ho means… stop it” she mocked him back trying to pry her hand free
He held her hand and caressed her palm with his thumb
“I smell like sweat I have to wear another kurta, she pushed the hung clothes back and forth
She yanked her hand when his antics accelerated her pulse rate
“Are you afraid to go out because Inder is in the atrium”
“Why?” he bristled
“He said you get to be married to me even though you have said beastly things about me” she said with calmness she did not feel on the inside
He sighed and did say anything
“I am married to you so the joke’s on Inder” Viveka laughed self deprecatingly
“He is a miserable SOB”
“That makes ur aunt a cuss word” she said looking him straight in the eyes
He lowered his gaze shame faced
“U don’t have to abuse Inder” she said calmly trying not to cry
“I will abuse Inder all I want, I will think what I want” he told her looking straight in the eye
“Its quite childish, we all say uncomplimentary things about people, verbally abusing the person that shares such things about us to the world, doesn’t make the unsavory opinion go away…. Just an FYI”
“He is just a sore loser” Raanav was not bogged down
“So the middleclass gold digger is a prize now?”
He flinched
“Jaane do mujhe” she whispered her lower lip quivering, unshed tears blinding her sight
He gripped her hand firmly and didn’t let go
She slowly pulled away and she went into the bathroom to change
The dog sat up ears cocking and followed her and lay outside the bathroom
When she stpped out she was right there
“Uffff” Viveka was irritated
The stained rug was gone and the floor was wiped down
He was on a call in the music production room
Smrita sat in between her nephews
Viren and satyen sat together at dinner. Raanav and Viveka had to sit together
Inder darted poison arrows at both of them
Satyen tried to sew the whole group together
Sid was awesome as always
“there is no running away from what he said about me and my family. Even if he goes to extremes today by sheltering me from his mother’s words today… which shamefully are the exact same words he spoke about me 10 months ago”
We cannot keep running away from the world, his words are inside him, His thoughts are inside him. He cannot completely cut off from Smrita. How can he?
Smrita glared at her when Satyen made the announcement about Raanav’s new apartment
“Am I getting a tour at all?” Satyen laughed
He was not exactly softeneing toward his son but was definitely not as bitter as he was at first
“Sure” raanav shrugged
“I told him Suneela’s kids have invested in Gurgaon, so its no big deal” Smrita shrugged coldly
“He actually wants to split his time” Satyen needled his wife
He had no idea Raanav had suggested that to Viveka in private
Smrita was absolutely horrified
Raanav didn’t have the courage to tell her
Satyen did
Raanav chewed and chewed unable to swallow the though moist chicken
“Satya not funny!” Smrita warned him primly
“No I am not kidding” satyen smiled
“Raanavvvvv” smriti shrieked
“Whatt?”
“She is a gold digger if he bought it for her” Inder muttered under his breath
Viren shook his head mockingly after catching that
Across the table no one heard Inder though
“ARE U MOVING OUT? Bhayya do u believe this kid?”
“My parents have quite a few apartments all over Gurgaon” lekha informed, trying to have a side conversation with Viveka
“That’s great” Viveka smiled
“I really don’t like homes with no lawns so I will never move”
“I grew up in cozy apartments” Viveka smiled
“I would feel claustrophobic”
“DON’T U dare” Smrita was going on and on and on
Satyen sat back and enjoyed the fun
Viveka glanced at Smrita
“Is she putting on an act? So she did not ask him to move out? Or is she trying to act innocent in front of her husband”
“I liked it you should come see it”
“Aapne Viveka ko dikhaya ghar?” Satyen questioned
“Umm no”
“NO I haven’t…Its probably gorgeous Dad…….. Nai (Naina would flip) she was going to say but quickly bit her lower lip. Weve driven by where he said he bought… it’s the most amazing construction” Viveka spoke innocently
Naina was an IED in this group
“Roz koi na koi makaan da investment honda rehta hai bhaisaab dikhaan di kedi lod haigi”
Such random investments keep happening in wealthy families who even sees such houses. Viren insulted Viveka
Gently mocking his BIL and answering for Satyen’s son.
“Aapko kaha Raanav ne?” Satyen mocked him back
“Nahi nahi bhaisaab, main bas keh raha hoon… Sid ne ek makaan liya abhi… I never saw it” Viren bragged
“U hated the pictures” Sid laughed
“Show her Raanav” Satyen ordered gently
“If he is going to rent it out she doesn’t need to see it” Smrita argued
“That’s for him to decide” Satyen cut his wife off
“Sure I can go see it”
“After dinner?” Raanav cornered her
“Great idea” Satyen clapped
“ABHI?” Viveka squirmed
“Well then” Raanav nodded
If he was on talking terms with his Dad he would have jumped up and hugged him
He wanted his wife alone
He was going to have her to himself for the next few hours
Just to spite his mother he wanted to go live there with Viveka
He hated how he had let himself get carried away with Smrita dictates on life and wealth
He wanted to blame HER though he KNEW he had to blame himself………………
