Neither said a word until they got to the restaurant.

"My friend marrying your college buddy was so unexpected, this further crushes any hopes of normalcy between us Tapan" she said quietly

When he spoke to her in Hindi it felt oddly intimate. English put a distance between them

"No, baby shower is not until 8th month or something"

"My other two friends live in India, one lives in a joint family"

He locked the car, and pulled his card out to pay the parking meter

"You became her friend when you hated me. You didnt know we were related. I F(fell in love with you) like you said I can be an adult" he said blandly

She caught his tonal inflection just when he looked at her to see if she did so he could quickly correct himself

"is the cheese in freeze ready packaging?" he changed the topic, peering into the car

He unlocked and sorted through everything and picked up the perishables

"Are you not buying anything for Arya?" she asked with longing

"Tum nahi khareedogi?" he laughed amused

"I want to... but I dont want to offend Parul"

"You can never offend Parul" he said firmly

"Thanks" she felt a lump in her throat

"You need to... never mind"

"Start dating like you?"

"It was one F---- date Shubhra" he rarely swore, he must be really pissed she thot

It gave her a weird satisfaction

"I am sorry" she said after a while entering the restaurant

"You are NOT" he said firmly

They pretended to be cheerful with Nidhi and Sajal they ate, left the perishables with the restaurant, wandered as a foursome for a couple hours and headed home finally

Nidhi went to take a nap, Shubhra showered and worked, and so did Tapan

It was almost 8 PM when they all gathered in the living room for Tapan's Desi Chinese and Hindi movie

"Kya scene hai tum dono ka?" Sajal questioned

"koi scene nahi hai, we broke up and bumped into each other"

"Baat kya hui?"

"I told her I will not see her Dad again... she took off her rin"

"Oh teri!"

"Hmm"

The men busied fixing stuff, Hindi songs played and wine flowed freely

"she has the best collection south of Himalayas" Tapan raised a toast to Shubhra as she blushed

"I am told I am a snob"

"For wine?" Tapan mocked

"Or a princess" Shubhra mocked him back quick

"Oh really?" he played along

"Oh yeah... by this guy..."

"Men usually say those things when they want to take u to bed" Nidhi drank her virgin sangria

"Sajal ne mujhe kaha "lets Netflix and chill"

"waise to maanegi nahi" Sajal laughed sheepishly

"I told him I have my period and he didnt text back for a week" Nidhi fell off the bar stool laughing hysterically

"that is NOT true... I went on a guys only trip"

"Jhooth... jhooth" Nidhi shouted

"Well he gave u a week" Tapan raised his glass again

"So this guy... did the princess relent?" Sajal went back to Shubhra

"Umm..." Shubhra tried to not answer

"Arey Tapan bura nahi maanega"

"Not at all" Tapan's eyes danced

"Oh pleez like I am worried about that"

"OK meri baat sun... I know you guys have broken up... but if the umm.. was great.. would you... I mean... abhi ke liye socho... bas... u know"

"I... eh... umm" Shubhra was guarded

"Tu bata?" Sajal turned to him as Tapan tossed the noodles in the wok and swirled it around

The flames licked the insides of the pan much like a YT video

"As u can see I love playing with fire" he said with a grin

Turning the stove knob, not turning, not looking at Shubhra

They stayed up until 2 AM, the movie was cut short by Nidhi's sleep, Sajal and Tapan played video games as Shubhra curled up and slept too

in the upstairs hallway leading up to their room

"No strings attached Tapan" "Promise me.." "tapan..." Shubhra panted as he began necking her, undoing her tiny buttons on the silk blouse... forcing it open, sending a couple of pearly white studs flying down on the hardwood... as his hands reached for the orbs encased in fine pink lace

"tapan... I dont want. you to think." she insisted..she whispered in agony,

Hoping for an iron clad agreement signed and sealed by lawyers on both sides, drafted at 2 AM in the Ohio suburbs

He shaved quietly. She was still asleep in her room, he had let himself out around Noon. Sajal and Nidhi were not to be found

He had texted Sajal at 2 AM as he went up the stairs

"Where is your emergency stash?"

"I dont need one for the next 6? months remember" was the response back

"Saale!"

"i will leave some under the door" Sajal said after letting Tapan agonize

It showed up under the door in seconds as he continued to kiss her by the door

"Do you travel with condoms?" she asked seriously

He wanted to smile, she never really checked her thoughts he realized

"Its like u with tampons" he said looking at her face

She smacked him with a quick back hand

"Tapannn"

"No I borrowed"

"From Sajal?" she was shocked

"I did" he said crowding her

"You knew I was going to have s---"

"Nahi... I want to... I wanted to... I have been craving" he said flatly

The honestly caused her to color self consciously

"THIS was always sensational. We can go back to hating each other's principles" he growled grabbing her and planting his open mouth on her neck

"It bothers me that you are as flippant as I am about this" she whimpered letting him fondle and caress her back

"You said it... no rules, no anger, lets just use each other Shubhra" he whispered kissing her earlobe

"I never expected to see you here, I am so weak" she sobbed out

"I have a lot of self control as you can tell" he unzipped with a viciousness

And took her hand and led her to the place in his body

They squirmed and shook as they both felt each others' arousal

"You dont have self control" she reminded him as he fed on her skin

"And you dont get sarcasm"

Her cry was audible

"I remember these nuggets about you... I cant help it... Its seared in my mind"

"Your body is seared in my soul" she whispered dry mouthed looking up at him

"My apologies" he said sarcastically as he began to plunder her mouth

"Why... umm.. why... stop.. Tapan... why" she panted later as he lay her on the bed and loomed over her

"Why did you apologize she squirmed beneath him feeling his shoulder with the back of her fingers

"For saying I am imprinted in your s---l memory" he grinned disarmingly

"Kyon?" she asked

"Umm.. lets say, you think I am good because you dont know any better" his turn to caress her cheeks with the back of his fingers

"No.. I dont... I do" she whispered

"You are too generous and strongly infatuated" he whispered tenderly on her lips

"Are you laughing at me?" she asked suspiciously

"Oh honeyyyy" he whispered and froze.... and then proceeded to make love savagely without uttering a word

Words always came in the way

They let him know they let him know what they felt like

She cried out loud and sobbed as her body shook and thrashed in bed uncontrollably

He pressed himself down to savor the feeling

When he thought he was forgetting he proceeded to recreate it all over again

They were too tired to after a point so fell asleep, he woke her up to share the magic again, and went on to take a shower

He fixed himself chai and made breakfast

She came down an hour later, showered and dressed elegantly as always in a green sun dress

"I made bagel sandwiches and a twist on hash browns" he smiled

"This reminds me of Chicago" she said in a tragic tone

He looked up at her

Her eyes were big pools of tears

"Kyon ro rahi ho?" he froze

"I think what we did was a BAD idea. I cannot do it again"

He nodded in understanding

"Tumhe koi faraq nahi padta?" she asked distressed

"Kis baare mein?"

"Dont you miss... what we had?"

"Ha"

"I have heard guys dont care"

"Now now now... before you shoot your mouth off, stop right there"

"You started it" she accused wiping tears

"WITH CONSENT" he said his shoulders stiffening

"Dont worry I am not about to scream r---" she said sadly

He felt ashamed she wud say that

"I will leave tonight" he said firmly

"DONT" she begged hiding her face in her hands

CHAHTI kya ho tum?” he was angrily

“Are you trying to make me hate you?” she asked dropping her hands, coming to a sudden brainwave

“This is no game Shubhra... I am a man with terrible self control... Sajal ne jab kaha kal... its OK to break up, just u know... life is short... why deny yourself”

“Otherwise you wouldnt have?” she asked sadly

“Now u are upset I did that because Sajal goaded me and not voluntarily?”

“I am just trying to understand WHERE I feature on your list of priorities”

“You and ME both sweetheart!” he smiled derisively

“YOU are obsessed with your sister... I AM NOT” she left the kitchen sprinting upstairs

Both are obsessed with their families......

That is fine..... But they are accusing each other for that.... And then agonising about the whole thing......

Where this obsessed with your sister came from🤔.....She likes parul right and was equally obsessed with her as tapan then what happened now?????
