Set out & Put out
The next morning, he brushed with the toothpaste she had neatly set out for him, and a towel and a soap
He brushed and made one of those Keurig cups, she had vanilla flavored creamer
He was a chai kinda guy straight up home made elaichi adrak, sometimes even with a rusk or two
If he hauled his a-- over to the Indian store
He was sipping it wandering the office turned into bedroom checking messages on the phone
She sat up groggily
"Hi!" she greeted politely
"Coffee peyogi?" he asked without returning the greeting
"Gussa ho?" she asked gathering her hair to tie it up, fumbling and finding a scuncie on the bedframe
"Nahi" he said
"I am supposed to say and feel what you do"
"I refuse to fight first thing in the morning" he took a big gulp scalding his mouth
She saw him wince
"If its not about that then why are you pissed?"
"I am not, I hate your vanilla creamer"
"You could have told me"
"Thats fine"
She got up and went to the bathroom returning to pursue the same conversation
"If you are upset I will leave you alone"
"I just dont want you to glorify Nitin's perceived hurt"
"By saying perceived you are confirming that you dont believe it"
"Can we kiss?" he asked as if it was like "Can I use your phone?"
"Umm.. sure" she nodded
"We dont have to if you dont care for it"
He approached her, his expression softening as she made another cup of coffee for herself
"I dreamed about our life together not necessarily in a office apartment" he said running the back of his fingers on her cheek
"Its just a pull out couch not an apartment"
"You are so damn strong willed" he observed looking deep into her eyes
"That doesnt sound like a compliment"
He bend down and pressed his lips on hers achingly
Is there something about you thats not neat or organized?" as he fished for loose locks around her ear and didnt find any
"I am not a good cook, hair falls on my face it falls into my eggs"
He was busy exploring her face
"I have to tell you I enjoy our fights" she said calmly with her signature honesty
"Kyon?" he tasted her neck
"Ive never had a boy friend, I dont know what they meant"
"Now you do" he gently let his fingers rove under her tee as she squirmed
"We just fight a lot"
His fingers sent electric shivers down her spine
His thumb and forefinger moved silkily sending sharp jabs of stunning pleasure across every nerve end
"tapann kya kar rahe ho" she pressed herself against his arousal wantonly
His masculine fingers cupping her ripeness, her body bare under her tee
"Ek aur baat sikhata hoon, this is called make up s---"
she shuddered
"I could stay locked up in this... umm.. u..(not so appealing?) office place for months, exhausting you" he promised
She went on her toes and kissed him
Coffee was forgotten
Later she told him she had plans to go home to get her clothes
"Chalogey?" she asked as she tidied the office back to form
Her employees would be arriving in less than an hour
"No" he said lacing up his shoes
"Oh?" "Please?"
He didnt apologize
"Nahi, after what the ma... he said to me I dont want" he stopped
He didnt know how to tidy like her
He leaned on the wall after stuffing the bed back into the sofa with a couple of manly grunts
Took the pillows to the side room
"I have to go alone?" she asked nervously
"To mat jao" he said stright up
"they are my parents"
"well.. then you should go... they are not my parents"
"thats cruel" she said in shock
"When I walked to the gate to give your Mom her keys that she forgot at Di's she said"
He stopped again
"what?"
"Never mind"
"I will not go Shubhra, I dont want to see either"
"How can we get married if you say that"
"Why? Do they own all the wedding venues in town?" he asked with biting sarcasm
"Umm.. NO" she didnt get it as usual
"then we will be fine... Phew!" he nodded
"You want me to never see them again?"
"Oh I AM not saying anything of that sort"
"You are implying it" she looked astonished
"Shubhra I WONT GO" he said after a long pause
"I am going to be there with you" she said pleadingly
"Jaanta hoon, but I will not go"
"This marriage is not really a partnership then" she said calmly after putting away the sheets and blankets
He looked shocked for a second
But quickly recovered
"My not going to Mehrauli has nothing to do with why we are getting married
"Think about it Tapan... in this relationship main bhagti rehti hoon tumhare peechhe, I put out...(she cringed lowering her gaze) too easily you pretty much do what you like" she said looking up at him steadily
