"I told Saurabh" Shubhra stood up wandering to the tall windows of the sun room

The yard was undergoing trimming and cleaning, lots of chain saws and trimmer noises

So the morning team was in the sun room

Parul opened all the balcony doors first thing every morning to bring the outside sounds in Tapan would say

Manik shifted awkwardly again, he hadnt paid that huge chunk he owed Mintu Gulati some secret benefactor had paid

He began sweating in anxiety and rage when he thought of how she continued to push him for everything

"Hi!?" Who is this?" Tapan answered his phone politely

"Umm.. Hi! This is Pawan" a man spoke in a gravely voice

Tapan was watching some Nascar race mindlessly that Saturday morning

"Oh? Umm" Tapan quickly chewed down his words

"Do you know me?"

"Umm. no?" tapan sat up confused

"I am Shubhra's fiance"

"You do know her" Pawan was reminding him

"Oh Yeah, yes"

"We are getting married soon"

"Sure" Tapan's brows met in confusion

"How long have you known Shubhra?"

"Umm.. I cant say"

"Kuch to yaad hoga aapko?"

"Why are you asking me this again?" Tapan was furious

"Umm.. bus yoon hi, aapki sister ki shaadi hui abhi?"

"No brother... I am not sure what is going on"

"Oh? dulha brother hain?"

"Hmm"

"I saw a bunch of pictures of that on FB"

Tapan was really confused

"Did you look at my family's pictures online? Thats really not appropriate" he blasted Pawan

"I saw pictures of Shubhra with you at some Holi event and wedding, I want to know how much you know her"

"You know what?" "Go... umm" Tapan pursed his lips, shut his eyes and looked up at the ceiling and cursed inaudibly

Took many deep long breaths

"Sorry?" Pawan questioned

"She is a friend thats all" Tapan said with labored breathing

"Only friend?"

"Umm.. yeah"

"OK Thanks" Pawan hung up

Tapan threw his phone on the wall and missed it crashed against a beautiful yellow seaform glass sculpture and it shattered to pieces, the impact broke the phone breaking it up in two

shattering the screen
