Part-13
It was early morning, Sujal was working out in the gym, lifting weights as he lay down on his bench. He was working out but his mind was occupied thinking about Kashish's nightmare last night. He didn't understand why she was afraid as she looked terrified. He didn't realise how much weight was on the barbell when he felt a heavy strain on his left arm. He dropped the weights as he held his arm in pain. A slight bruise forming. He heads to the bedroom holding his arm in pain when he sees Kashish was reading a newspaper. He walks towards the cupboard to take out some muscle relief gel. Kashish sees him settling on the bed trying to remove the lid. She gets up and walks towards him....
Kashish: kya hua...are you ok?....zyada dard to nahi ho raha...I mean fracture to nahi hai na...
Sujal: im okay...woh weight thoda zyada hogaya and i didnt realise. I will apply this gel and take painkillers..it will be fine in a few days...
Kashish: tum betho main painkiller aur pani leke aati hoon...you just sit and try not to move your hand..
Sujal: Kashish..mein manage karlunga..
She just looked at him and then left the room. A few minutes later she walked up with a glass of water and painkillers in one hand and an ice pack in the other. She passed him the tablets and he took them with the glass of water. Kashish looks at him and then helps him up taking him to the terrace. He sat down on the seat as she settled in front of him..leaning forward slowly as she placed the ice pack on his arm. He winced and held her hand when she looked up at him staring into his eyes. They were both lost in each other’s eyes as she continued to hold the ice pack. His hand still holding hers. Her hair slightly falling forward onto her face. He slowly moved his hand towards her face as he gently tucked her hair behind her ears, his thumb slowly stroking her cheek. She held her breath for a moment. The ice pack slipping out of place. He moved his hand back as she moved her gaze away
Kashish: yeh sab hua kaise...tumhara dhyan kidhar tha..
Sujal: pata nahin..aaj kal mera dhyaan kidhar hota hai...i didn't even realise how it happened...
Kashish: I think i know the reason...
Sujal looks up towards her
Sujal: really? And what is the reason
Kashish: you are missing your girlfriends...am i right?
Sujal: hmmm...maybe..i don't know...i haven't really thought about them
Kashish: tum unhe call nahi karte ki unhone tumhe call karna chod diya hai...woh mere samaj me nahi aaraha...kitne dino se ghar pe party nahi huyi tumhari..
Sujal: pata nahin..i haven't really felt like throwing a party for a while...my mind has been too occupied...i am surprised you have noticed..you never attend my parties
She turns the ice pack around placing the cooler side on his arm making him wince slightly
Kashish: tumhari party mere liye boring hoti hai....
Sujal: seriously...my party is never boring...it is full of life and you know it..you can't call it boring..their must be another reason....
Kashish: their is no other reason...i like family parties...or you can say a couples party...sophisticated parties....you can name any....muje apno ke beech party karna zyada pasand hai...
Sujal: acha...you never told me you like couple parties..i didn't think you would be interested in going with me...
Kashish: I said couple party and we are not a couple...
Sujal: technically we are...for the next 3 months. Don't forget your still Mrs Sujal Garewal...
Kashish: tum muje bhulne kaha dete ho...
Sujal: kyunki mujhe mazza aata hai..tumhe yaad dila kar..because it annoys you to remember that your still my wife..even though the choice was yours...i told you 7 days but you’re the one who wanted to stay 6 months..waise mujhe aisa lag raha hai jaise tum mujhe chodkar nahin jaana chahthi thi...kyun...
Kashish: mera decision aaj bhi wahi hai....6 months over and I am out of this mess...in search of my Prince Charming...
Sujal: acha...waise tum jis ke saath ho woh kya prince charming se kam hai...tum prince charming ko chod kar bhikari ko dhoondne ja rahi ho....
Kashish: i am talking about love....not money....paise aaj hai kal nahi....pyaar hamesha rehta hai...achche bure har waqt me....muje wakay me woh pyaar ki talash hai jiske bina ek pal bhi jina mushkil ho...
Sujal: aur paise ke binna koi kissi se pyar karta hi nahin...mujhe hi dekh lo...mere paas paisa hai..isi liye tho ladkian mujh pe marthi hain..they want the luxuries in life more than true love...
Kashish: tumhe shayad true love kya hai woh pata hi nahi...aur jab pata chalega...it will be too late kyunki tumhara ego tumhe kabhi kisi se pyaar karne hi nahi dega..
Sujal: mein binna pyar ke hi kaafi khush hoon apni life mein...tumhe tumhari love story mubarak...i hope you find your so called prince charming...
Kashish: thank you...i think ab tumhara haath kafi thik lag raha hai..i am making coffee....tum thodi dair me breakfast pe aa jana..
Sujal: theek hai...mein shower leke aata hoon..by the way thanks...
Kashish: tum aur thanks....hmmm...
She gets up as he looks at her and leaves from there taking the ice pack leaving Sujal lost in thoughts. Moments later he got up and left for a shower

It was afternoon time, Kashish was in the garden having some coffee when her mobile rings. She sees that it is Vinit Chachu calling. She answers the call.
Vinit: good afternoon Kashish beta...kaisi ho tum...aur humare sahab zaade kaise hain.....
Kashish: namaste chachu...main thik hoon...aur aapke ladle bhi thik hi hai...
Vinit: acha...sun kar khushi hui ke tum dono theek ho..waise uska rawaiya tumhare saath ab kuch behtar hai ke sab pehle jaise hi hai?...
Kashish: kafi had tak sudhar gaya hai....abhi orders request me convert hote ja rahe hai......please sorry thank you bhi bolna sikh raha hai...over all ek insaan bante ja raha hai lekin abhi woh behavior ki school me sirf first standard me hai...so bahot lambi padhai baki hai..
Vinit smiles at her words and hopes to see more changes when he next sees him.
Vinit: yeh tho bohat achi progress hai...waise mein agle mahinay aaraha hoon tum dono ke saath kuch din rehne ke liye....
Kashish: yeh to bahot khushi ki baat hai...aap dadaji ko bhi saath lete aana...unhe achcha lagega..
Vinit: beta woh tho Australia mein hain...shayad na aa paen par dekhte hain..mein papa se baat kar ke poochlunga..tum dono apna khayal rakhna aur Sujal ko mere aane ki khabar de dena...bye beta...
Kashish: sure chachu...main kardungi...aap apna khayal rakhna...bye..
Vinit disconnects and Kashish dials Sujal. Sujal who was in his office looks at his mobile and smiles. He answers the call
Sujal: kya baat hai...aaj tum khud mujhe call kar rahi ho..
Kashish: muje koi interest nahi hai tumhe call karne me...i just called you to say....vinit chachu aa rahe hain next month..
Sujal: kyaaa...Vinit chachu...unhone mujhe tho call nahin ki...tum sach keh rahi ho?
Kashish: yakeen na aaye to khud phone karke puch lena...tumhe meri baat pe to yakeen hai nahi..
Sujal: nahin aisi baat nahin...woh mein tho bas surprise hogaya...Vinit chachu doesn't normally visit without any reason. Anyway thanks for letting me know...
Kashish: hmm... bye...
Sujal: bye
Sujal disconnects the call and settles back in to his seat looking tensed as he thought he would need to calm down with his drinking habits. It wasn't something he found easy to do but he had no choice....
******************************************************************************
Another month has gone by and both Sujal and Kashish were in the fourth month of the contract marriage. Sujal was sat at his bar with a bottle of scotch, drinking whilst watching football. Kashish who had just cleaned up after dinner walked out of the kitchen and saw him sat engrossed in his match
Kashish: tumse kuch baat karni hai...agar tum kaho to...
Sujal: hmmm...kaho kya baat hai...do you need anything?
Kashish; tumhe apni drinking thodi kam kar deni chahiye...itna pina bhi achcha nahi hai...it’s a bad habit for you and your health...
Sujal: i know...but it’s too late..i can't help it. Jab thak mein dinner ke baad drink nahin karta...raat ko mujhe neend nahin aati..it’s a habit i can't leave
Kashish: lekin dheere dheere tumhe apne aap ko sambhalne ka mauka dena chahiye... kuch hi dino me vinit chachu aa rahe hai...tab kya karoge...
Sujal: pata nahin...mein already yeh soch kar pareshaan horaha hoon...i probably won't sleep too well whilst he is here
Kashish: itna bhi kisi cheez pe dependent hona sahi nahi hai... tumhe apne future ke bare me bhi sochna chahiye...
Sujal: ab mein yeh aadat badal tho nahin sakta na...it’s a necessity for me...i can't help it..it’s like my body craves it
Kashish: muje galat laga isiliye kaha...bad me bahot dair na ho jaye..
Sujal: matlab? Mein kuch samjha nahin
Kashish: aksar insaan sharaab me sab kuch har jata hai..
Sujal: i don't always drink as much as i can't handle..just on special occasions or a party
Kashish; lekin tumhe iske bagair bhi to rehne ki aadat nahi hai..
Sujal: i'll try..to cut down but i can't promise...i can't live without my drinks. They make me happy
Kashish: tum ab bache to ho nahi...apna bhala bura sab samaj sakte ho...tum jo chahe kar sakte ho....muje laga ki muje tumhe warn karna chahiye so i did....aage tumhari marzi..
Kashish looks at him for a moment and then heads upstairs. Sujal watches her leave whilst thinking over her words. He was about to sip the last of his scotch but reluctantly he moves the glass away trying to focus on the game instead and not think about his drink...
******************************************************************************
The following morning Kashish was reading the newspaper. Her eyes grew wide in shock at the news of the stock market crash. She put the paper aside and took out her laptop to figure out how much she lost. She was devastated as she realised she lost 50 lakh. She held herself together and contacted the bank who informed her that she only had 22 lakh in her account. She looked at her ring with a broken heart knowing she had no other way to compensate for the loss and would have to sell her ring. She sold her ring online and arranged for the delivery. It was 9pm at night, Kashish was working on her laptop in silence. Sujal walked into the room, removing his tie and cufflinks, when his eyes drifted to her hands. He noticed she was not wearing her ring.
Sujal: tumhari ring kahan hai? Usually you don't let it part from you...aaj tho nazar nahin arahi
Kashish: muje iske bare me baat nahi karni...
Sujal: i hope you haven't broken the diamond of the ring because it is worth more than 30 lakhs...
Kashish: sorry to say lekin ab woh 30 lakh ki nahi 28 lakh ki hai...matlab thi...
Sujal: what do you mean thi? Where is the ring Kashish..i want to know
Kashish: I have sold it to get some money...
Sujal: what!! You sold the ring..why did you need the money?
Kashish: woh aaj stock market crash hua to muje urgently 50 lakh ki zaroorat thi...so to manage my account...i had to..
He settled down on the footstool in front of her as he moved the laptop out of her hands placing it on the bed. He held her hand into his whilst she looked at him confused, when he pulled out the ring from his pocket, her eyes growing wide in surprise as he slipped it back on her finger...where it belongs....
Kashish: Sujal...yeh tumhare paas kaise...i mean..maine to...
Sujal: jisko tumne yeh ring bechi thi...tumhare call ke baad usne mujhe call kiya tha..he told me that my wife sold the ring to him...i like to keep a minute to minute update of the people connected to me so i bought the ring back from him...
Kashish: tumne kitne me kharidi...
Sujal: 40 lakh ki...so now i have paid 72 lakhs in total for this ring...
Kashish: tumne ise wapis kyun kharidi..
Sujal: kyunki do mahinay ke liye hi sahi...tum abhi bhi Mrs Sujal Garewal ho..and i don't want my wife to be without her wedding ring. Anyway don't pull any more stunts like this again...if you need money..just ask me...don't try selling the ring again...
Kashish: ek baat puchu.. tumne yeh ring sirf do mahine ke liye 40 lakh me li...ki aur koi waje..
Sujal: nahin..yahin wajah hai..aur waise bhi tumne is ring ke liye mujh jaise shaitaan se shaadi ki..tho tum isse deserve karti ho...i made a deal with you at the time of proposal that you can keep this ring and i don't go back on my words...this belongs to you..okay babe?...
He looks at her moving forward as he places a kiss on her cheek with a smirk and left for the washroom leaving Kashish lost in her thoughts
******************************************************************************
It was late at night, Kashish was sat on the bed working on her laptop whilst Sujal was sat on his chair working on a file. When the doorbell rang, Sujal looked at Kashish as she got up and headed downstairs to unlock the door. It was Jamie at the door, she let him in and shouted down to Sujal who walked down moments later
Sujal: Jamie..tum itni raat ko...
Jamie: woh boss...abhi Germany se aapki nayi car ki delivery huyi hai...your custom made convertible...here is the keys...congratulations..
Sujal looks like a little child who has just gotten his favourite toy, his face lit up as he held the keys. They all walked out to the garage as Sujal was mesmerised looking at his brand new car with the perfect shade of his favourite blue. Jamie smiles and leaves from there after congratulating Sujal again. Sujal looks towards Kashish who was smiling seeing his excitement.
Sujal: I’m taking it for a test drive...do you want to join me?
Kashish: if you are looking for company then yes...otherwise you can go alone...
He smiles and opens the passenger door for her. She was about to step forward when she realises she is stood there barefoot. She had forgotten her slippers inside.
Sujal: why did you stop?
Kashish: actually I can’t...i am not wearing my shoes...tum jao..you can’t miss your first ride...
Sujal: oh come on...you don't need any shoes. You will be in the car...come on sit inside.
He held her hand as he pulled her towards him helping her settle in the car. He comes to the driver side settling in as he starts the engine driving off from there. It was a smooth ride and Sujal was loving the new car. The interior was beautiful. Sujal stops the car outside a coffee shop and looks at her.
Sujal: i fancy some coffee...lets go have some...
Kashish: i am sorry but I can’t....remember...no shoes...
Sujal just looks at her and then gets out of the car and heads inside. He returns moments later with 2 cups of coffee in his hand, placing them on the bonnet he opens the door at her side
Sujal: there is no way you are having your coffee inside my new car so step out....
Kashish: tum samjo to sahi...agar main aise bahar aayi to mere pair gande honge aur phir tumhari nayi car..its ok ...you have your coffee...
Sujal: where there is a will there is a way.
Sujal leans forward unclipping the seat belt and lowers himself. His one hand going around her back as the other settled beneath her knees. He lifted her out while her hands hesitantly held him around his neck. He walked towards the bonnet as their eyes connected and he gently settled her on the front bonnet. He passed her one of the coffee's as they both silently sipped there coffee's. After they finished, Sujal trashed the coffee cups and then lifted her again as he seated her inside. He then sat on his side and they both headed back home
Kashish: tumhe yaad tha....meri black coffee..just the way i like...
Sujal: ab itna time saath rehne ke baad mujhe itna tho pata hai...tumhe bhi tho pata hai ke mujhe meri coffee aur khaana kis tarah se pasand hai..if you can look after my choices then its only right that i do the same...
Kashish: ha kar sakte ho...lekin tumse expect karna thoda mushkil hai...i can’t imagine that you look after someone..
Sujal just looks at her
Sujal: mein itna bhi burra insaan nahin jitna ke tum mujhe samajhti ho
Kashish; tum sirf bura hone ka dikhava karte ho.
Sujal: aisa nahin hai...jaisa main nazar aata hoon mein waisa hi hoon..mujhe dikhava karna nahin aata
He smiles as he parks the car in the garage. He gets out and she was about to step out when he comes around carrying her in his arms as he started walking inside and towards their bedroom, she looked at him in surprise...
Kashish: don’t you mistake me as your girlfriend...tum muje ab neeche rakh sakte ho..
Sujal: i don't need to mistake you as my girlfriend as you are my wife...which is even better for me..aur waise bhi i know what you’re like. Tum paon neeche rakhti..andar tiles gandi hojathi aur phir tumhe saara floor sone se pehle saaf karna padta...because you hate mess.
He walks towards the bed placing her down as he leans forward his hands on either side of her as he tucks her in looking into her eyes
Kashish: stop it now Sujal...
Sujal: stop what...i haven't even started yet to stop...tum chaho tho i don't mind starting
He smiles as he leans forward settling his lips on her jaw. His nose running slowly along her cheek..She held her breath closing her eyes tightly, gasping at the sudden contact. She opened her eyes and tried to push him back
Kashish: just stop it sujal with your acting....before i scream at you...back off...i am not your type...
Sujal: why don't you let me decide if you are my type or not
He lowers his lips moving down from her running down the slope of her neck as he pressed a kiss against her neck making her gasp as she tried to push him back. He held her hands in his as he moved back looking into her eyes with a smile. She stopped fighting as she pulled back her hands.
Sujal: sleep...i won't do anything.
He got up leaving for the washroom as she looked towards him releasing the breath she had held as she sank back into the pillows closing her eyes...she could still feel his touch as she tried to calm down her racing heart
