Episode 101 - Flash from the past

It was a dark and stormy night, only headlights of the car was seen on the road surrounded by forest on both sides.

<Song plays Louds - Peeney ki tamana (Loveshhuda)>
As Keshav drove the car, Gautam stood up and reached the front to increases the volume on the car which scared Keshav that he was about to loose control over driving. After he increased the volume, we fell onto the back seat. Keshav closes his left ear and stares at a drunk Gautam through the front mirror.

Ke (shouts) - Isn't being this drunk bad enough? That you even want to listen to songs about drinking?

Seeing Gautam drunk dancing and sitting without listening to what Keshav was saying, he gave up and continued driving.

G (drunk) - Cashew stoppp!!

Gautam came front again and Keshav stepped on the sudden break.

Ke (angry) - Now what!?
G (drunk) - Zhor ka laga hai.

Gautam pointed out his little finger and just went out of the car into the forest to find a spot to pee. Keshav looking annoyed wondered why Gautam had so many drinks in the party that he was so drunk. Keshav was changing the songs on the player waiting for Gautam.

<Song plays - Channa Mereya (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil>
Keshav listens to the song as he scrolled through FB. "Channa Mereya" Keshav sang. He heard the sound of the door open at the back.

Ke - You're here! Kitna time lagadiya yaar.

Keshav locks his phone, keeps in the pocket and turns to see Keshav putting a girl at the back seat. Keshav widens his eyes in shock and looks at Gautam who seemed less drunk than before but not fully sober.

Gautam gets in and sits on the front seat. As he wore the seat belt,

G (rushing) - Start the car now. Let's go. Go. Go. Go!
Ke (shocked) - Go where??

Keshav asked as he started the car and drove really fast.

Ke - Pagal hogaya kya?
G - She isn't breathing.

Gautam said turning back as he checked holding his finger under her nose. SCREECH! Keshav stopped the car stepping on the break. He looked back at the girl lying behind.

G - Hospital le chalte hain.
Ke (tensed) - You've seriously lost it! 2 drunk guys bringing in a random girl. Ya. Of course that wouldn't look suspicious.

Gautam got off the car and opened the back door to check the girls heartbeat.

G (relieved) - She's still alive.
Ke (shocked) - What?

Gautam nodded his head. Keshav looking tensed,

Ke (tensed) - Get in. Fast.

They drive fast to the hospital which was not near by. Keshav was tensed and he drove pondering over what they would tell the hospital.

Ke (tensed) - I don't think they'll admit her just like that. They'll want us to register a case. Itna time toh nahi hai. We don't even know her name. How are we going to admit her.
G - Let's just tell she's family.
Ke - What?

Keshav looks through the front mirror to see Gautam holding Siyali on his lap holding one of her hand and his other hand on the head (like patting). Turning back to confirm what he saw, he looked scared and concerned; and pressed harder on the accelerator to speed.

Keshav watched as Gautam filled up the form, sent Siyali into the operation theatre and went to pay the bill. Keshav walked to the counter and took a peak at the hospital form where Gautam has filled the patient's name as Shreya and signed the form stating relationship as Brother.

Outside the hospital, Keshav walks to Gautam who was sitting on a bench. He hands him a bottle of water. Gautam drinks some and then splashing water on his face. As he wiped the water off his face, he held is hand by his forehead and sequeezing the area between his eyes.

G (sounding tired) - I'm so hungover man!
Ke - Dikh raha hai. I can't hold on any longer, ho kya raha hai. Who is this girl?
G (tired) - I really don't know. Mujhe kuch yaad nahi aa raha hai.
Ke (shocked) - What do you mean yaad nahi hai?
G - All I remember is hearing a female voice.

[Flash back]
As Gautam finishes his business in the woods, he hears a female voice near by. Confused, he scratches his head and walks towards the voice. As he pushes away the leaves, he sees bright light from a white car which stood near the cliff. Few steps away from the car, he sees a girl lying on the ground and struggling as someone was stamping on her neck. He rubs his eyes to check if he was seeing things. After he confirmed the reality, he wonders what to do. He sees the person moving away from the girl goes to the car's trunk and away. He finds the chance, runs towards the girl, picks up in his hand and gets back into the woods. Hearing the sound of leaves, the person peaks from behind the trunk.
[Flash back ends]

Ke (shocked, whispers) - So, someone tried to actually kill her?

Gautam nods his head while Keshav stood up being shocked and didn't know how to handle the situation.

Ke - Did you see this person?
G (trying hard to remember) - Not exactly. She was this tall, thin and I think she was wearing a suit. But I didn't see her face.
Ke - Oh my god! Police ke paas chalein?
G - Abhi nahi.
Ke - Why not?
G - There's no use. Woh humara yaqeen nahi karenge. Remember what happened the last time we went to the Police station. They'll just think we're making this up.Let's just wait for her to get up. Only she'll be able to testify.

Ke - You're right. Already humara aur police ka banta nahi hai.

Keshav remembered their past with a similar incident and looked at Gautam as he knew that Gautam was totally affected by this more than he was.

Five days passed and the girl didn't wake up, the nurse had called for "Shreya's guardian" to buy some tablets. As Gautam and Keshav walked to the medical shop, Keshav looking at the name on top of a paper,

Ke - I wanted to ask. Shreya? Really?
G (smiling) - Buss muh se nikal aaya.
Ke (teasing) - Really?

Gautam gave a little stare at Keshav and snatched the paper from his hand and handed it in the shop,

Ke (teasing) - But Brother? Relationship mein Boy friend hi likh lete?
G (going with the flow) - I wouldve. But boyfriend family nahi hota hai na.

The two smile at each other as the get the medicines and walk back to the room. On the way back, they see people gathered around the a particular area of the corridor nearing the room they admitted Siyali in. As they neared, they heard loud sounds from Siyali's room, her shouting, falling of plates, etc.

Hearing her shout, the two rushed pushing others on the way. Seeing the nurse come out of the room,

G (tensed) - What's going on?
Nurse (tensed) - Patient ko hosh aagaya.

The two smile but seeing the nurse look tensed and hearing the chaos they look at the nurse,

Nurse - Par lagta hai ki uski yaadaash chali gayi.
G, Ke - What!!

Gautam and Keshav stand shocked hearing this and look towards the room.

She starts breathing deeper and suffocating. As it continues, feeling a pain on her chest, she placed her hand by the painful area and trying to breathe.

Si (crying) - I can't remember. I can't. I can't.

Episode 102 - You shall be called by a New Name

In the hospital room, the nurse was changing the dripping bags when Siyali slowly opened her eyes. Seeing her open her eyes, Nurse runs out to call for the doctor.

Siyali slowly looks around confused. She tries to get up but feels pain in her body. She sits up and touches her head trying to remember. Realising that a bandage was around her head, she tries to take her other hand towards her head but finds a needle on her wrist. Looking tensed, she pulls the needle off her, gets off the bed and limps towards the window.

Where am I? What am I doing in this place. She wondered and breathed hard. Her head hurt, feeling suffocated she opened the window and bending outside to feel the fresh air, cries in pain and trying to breathe.

METAL DROPPING SOUND! She stops crying and turns hearing the sound and sees a doctor and 2 nurses inside the room. Seeing her stand near the window, they assume the worst.

Nurse - Doctor. Mujhe lagta hai ke humey police ko bulana chahiye.

One of the nurses looked tensed at the doctor looked at the scared girl calmly. Siyali looked confused and shocked with the mention of police.

Si (tensed, stammering) - Po. Po. Police ko kyun bhulayenge. Mainey. Mainey. Kuch galat nahi kiya. Galat. Galat kiya nahi hoga. Nurse - Kiya nahi hoga mathlab?
Si (tensed, stammering) - Main. Main. Main. Aisa. Aisa.
Doc (suspicious) - Shreya! Shreya! Shreya! Calm down.

Siyali continued to stammer and not respond to for calling her Shreya. The doctor, knowing something was wrong walks near her.

S (tensed, stammering) - Don't. Don't come near me. Mere. Mere paas math aana.
Doc - Calm down. I'm just trying to help you.

The doctor signals the nurse who walks out of the room seeing which Siyali starts freaking out more.

Si (tensed, stammering) - Woh... Kahan jaa rahi hai.?

Siyali pushes the near by items in front, to stop the other two from coming near her. As the tray falls down, she picks up a the scissors and keeps it near her wrist.

Doc - Are you sure you want to do that?
Si - Huh?

Siyali looked confused.

Si (tensed, stammering, but strong) - Main. Main apni jaan kyun loon? Mainey. Maine kuch galat nahi kiya. Main kuch galat Kar hi nahi sakti.. Main. Main kyun daroon police se? I don't. Don't. Know what's going on. Par main sure hoon. Mainey kuch galat nahi kiya. I'm a nice person. I'm a good person. Main achi hoon. Achi. Achi hoon.
Doc (assuring) - Of course you are. But do you know who you are?

Siyali for a minute looked confused, dropped the scissor down and fell behind taking the wall as a support.

Si - Mujhe nahi patha. (Scared) Mujhe nahi patha. (Crying) Main kaun hoon! Mujhe yaad nahi aa raha hai. (Crying hard) Mujhe yaad kyun nahi aa raha hai.

She starts breathing deeper and suffocating. As it continues, feeling a pain on her chest, she placed her hand by the painful area and trying to breathe.

Si (crying) - I can't remember. I can't. I can't.

As she was about to faint, The doctor and nurse run to her and bring her back to the bed where she struggles to breath.

The other nurse comes back with few medicines along with an injection which the doctor uses on Siyali. Gautam and Keshav stand by the door and look at her as she tries hard to breathe and finally calms down and sleep.

Outside the room, Keshav and Gautam looking at Siyali through the glass area in the door,

G - Ab kya karein?
Ke (loud, tensed) - What do you mean ab kya karein?

Realising that they're in a hospital and poeple might listen, Keshav pulls Gautam aside to a corner which was pretty empty,

Ke (whispering, tensed) - Police ke paas jaana padhega. What else? And how are we going to explain them why we haven't reported this... for like a week.
G (confused) - Can we deal this without going to the police?
Ke - Dimaag kharab hogaya hai tumhara? (Whispers) What are you a detective!

Gautam was about to give his reasons but Keshav didn't finish yet,

Ke (warning) - Gautam, tumhare police ke saath dushmani ki wajahse us ladki ki zindagi barbaad math karo. I don't care if you're with me or against me on this, as soon as she wakes up, I'm talking to her about this. Let her decide what she wants to do.

Gautam wasn't comfortable with Keshav's plan but Keshav had decided what was best according to him and there was no making him change his mind.

Nurse - Patient Shreya's Guardian. (Shouts out) Patient Shreya's Guardian. Kahan hai woh do ladkey?

Hearing Shreya's name called, Keshav peeks from behind the corridor and holds his hand up.

Nurse - Patient ko hosh aagaya.

Hearing this, they walk to the room when someone holds on to Gautam's arm. He turns around and looks shocked seeing someone. Keshav turns to see Gautam as he wasn't following,

Ke (shocked) - Uncle! Aunty! Aap yahan!?

Keshav looks shocked to see two of Gautam's family members. The man looked angry seeing them at the hospital. He holds the woman by her shoulder, makes her sit on the bench by the wall and walks to the two guilty boys on the others.

Male - What's going on? What do you mean Shreya? Keshav! Gautam! Kuch bologe bhi? Why is a girl admitted with my daughter's name.

Shreya's Father looked angry while Keshav and Gautam looked down at the floor. After they explain the situation, they take Shreya's Father to the doctor who explains the situation to them,

Doc - We were about to call the police. Ladkey suspicious the! Aur baad mein Ladki bhi suicide karlene jaisi lag rahi thi. We thought something was wrong. Now that you're here, we're relieved.

Shreya's Father stares at Gautam and Keshav and look at the doctor.

Sh Dad - How is she now?
Doc - Honestly, she's not fine. She has critical injury in her chest area. Aisa lag raha hai ke bohat zhor laga gaya hai. She'll have difficulty breathing for a while. And then the more bigger issue, memory loss.

Gautam and Keshav look at each other wondering what kind of mess they got into.

Back in the hospital room, the nurse was cleaning the room after the chaos Siyali created. The nurse could hear the sound of crying, she turns back to see Siyali lying side ways and crying. Seeing the nurse look at her, she lied straight and closed her eyes with one of her forearm. Tears were flooding off her eyes. Suddenly she felt a touch on her forehead, due to which she removed her arm to look and sees a women in her early 40s (Shreya's Mom).

Siyali wakes up seeing her and sits, looking confused and longing for some answers, assistance and affection,

Si (longing) - Aap... kaun hain?

Her eyes questioned. The lady who sat by her side, touches her cheek and with an affectionate smile,

Lady - Maa! Tumhari Maa.
Si (emotional) - Maa?

Her eyes brimmed with tears as Shreya's mother nodded with a huge smile on her face and brimming eyes. Crying, Siyali hugged her mother and started crying out loud.

Ke - They gave me this! It's her things.

Gautam takes the cover from Keshav's hand and takes things out of it. He takes the shirt Siyali was wearing and behind it was the name Warrior High (the shirt she wore on Farwell/ the one used by the students in Karishma).

Episode 103 - Identity Crisis

Shreya's Father along with the 2 boys were with the doctor discussing the girl's condition when the Nurse walked in.

Doc - Nurse? I told you not to leave the patient alone.
Nurse - Akeli nahi hai sir. Uske maa ke saath hai.
Sh Dad - Maa?
Nurse - Haan. Aapki wife. Unhon ne kaha hi woh Patient ke saath rehengi..
G (shocked) - Unhon ne kaha?

Gautam looks at Shreya's Father who was equally shocked that he got up from the chair and rushed out of the doctor's office. The three run back to Siyali's room.

Meanwhile, in the room, Siyali was talking to Shreya's mother,

Si (emotional) - Mujhe bohat dar lag raha hai. Sach mein kuch bhi yaad nahi hai. Kuch bhi yaad nahi aa raha hai maa.
Sh Mom (sweetly) - Toh kya hua? Tumhe kuch yaad nahi hai toh kya hua? Humey toh tum yaad ho na.

Shreya's Father slowly walks in looking surprised with happy tears. Seeing him and the boys,

Sh Dad - Dekho! Papa aye hai. Gautam hai. Keshav hai. Aur ghar mein bohat log jinhe tum yaad ho. Purani yaadein chaley gayi toh kya? Naye banalengey hum.

She smiles and wiping Siyali's tears,

Sh Mom - Now smile! Dekho lunch is here

Siyali smiles. She takes the food tray from the nurse's hand and starts feeling Siyali. The three men go outside the room surprised.

Sh Dad (with happy tears) - Theen saalon mein pehli baar tumhari aunty ke muh se shabdein aa rahi hai. Pehli baar smile kar rahi hai.

As Gautam and Shreya's Father looked at each other happily, Keshav didn't feel very good about this. Shreya's Mother comes out of the room and,

Sh Mom - Chalein?
Sh Dad - Huh?
Sh Mom (excited) - Mujhe Shre ke liye khana banana hai.
Sh Dad - Par hum hotel mein stay Kar rahi ho.
Sh Mom - Toh kya hua? Main banaloongi. Bichari meri bachi. Hostel ka khana khake kitni patli ho gayi.

The three men looked confused at each other as Shreya's Mother gets ready to leave.

Sh Mom - Haan Gautam. Shre ka khayal rakhna. I'll be right back.

Shreya's Father was dumbfounded and went along with an excited Shreya's Mother. Keshav and Gautam look at each other confused and into the room through the glass and see Siyali asleep.

Few hours later, Gautam is seen waiting outside the hospital room and talking on the phone,

G (confused) - What do mean?
Sh Dad - Tumhari Aunty, uss ladki ko actually Shreya maanthi hai. She doesn't remember these three years. All she remembers is getting that call from you that Shreya is in the hospital. And usse lagta hai ki Shreya ko hosh aagaya, aur jisse usne aaj mila, wo hi humari Shreya hai.
G - Ab kya karein, Uncle?
Sh Dad - I really don't know. For now, let's inform the police.
G (not convinced) - Fine.

Gautam cuts the call and sees Keshav staring at him,

Ke (angry) - You still don't plan on going to the police. do you?
G - Aisa kuch nahi hai. I'm just saying, aunty is finally alright after so many years. Should I take that away from her?
Ke (angry) - Buss tumhare family ke baarey mein soch rahe ho? What about her family? (pointing at Siyali) Woh bhi apni Beti ko dhoond rahe hogey na. Is it fair to them?

Gautam was rolling his eyes as he didn't trust the police one bit. Keshav shows him a cover and,

Ke - They gave me this! It's her things.

Gautam takes the cover from Keshav's hand and takes things out of it. He sees a ohm bracelet and hands it over to Keshav. He takes the shirt Siyali was wearing and behind it was the name Warrior High (the shirt she wore on Farwell/ the one used by the students in Karishma).

G (surprised) - Warrior High?
Ke - Agar police station nahi jana hai, at least Warrior High chaltey hain.
G - Okay! But I don't understand. The place we found her!? Thats miles away from the school. What was she doing so far away from school?

Keshav shrugs his shoulder while Gautam thought about what the reason could be.

Later that day, After Shreya's mother was back, Gautam and Keshav left the hospital to visit Warrior High. The two stand outside the gates of warrior high wondering why the school was closed. They see a man walk by the gate and call him. He walks to them,

G - Bhaiya? School mein koi ladki missing...
Peon (scared) - Agar tum logon ko Siyali ke baarey mein baath karni hai toh chale jaa'o.

He was about to leave when Gautam held his hand through the gate and,

G (curious) - Bhaiya. Bhaiya. Bathao toh sahi. Yeh Siyali ko...
Peon - Agar ma'am sab ko patha bhi laga ki main kisisey bhi uss mari hui ladki ki baath kar raha hoon, toh...
Ke (shocked) - Mari hui?

Gautam and Keshav looked shocked hearing the words "mari hui". What did he mean by that?

Peon - Dekho Bhai. Muft ki advise deta hoon. News waaley lagtey ho...

Gautam and Keshav look at each from head to toe on what made them look like reporters with a funny look on their faces.

Peon - Inke chakkar mein math padho. Badey log hai yeh. Kuch bhi kar saktey hain.

Gautam thinks of something and,

G - Theek hai bhaiya. Inkey chakkar mein nahi padengey. Par apne curiosity ke liye toh pooch raha hoon. Chakkar kya hai?

Peon smirks and laughs and,

Peon (sly) - Apney liye ya Phir apney kaam ke liye. Muft ka toh buss advise hi milega. Information nahi.

The peon raises his eyebrows and gives a smirk whole Gautam leaves the peon's hand and looks at Keshav who thought this situation was too typical.

Few days later, Gautam was sitting in Siyali's room with his laptop and doing some work when she starts struggling in her sleep. She was crying and breathing fast in her sleep. Scared, Gautam tries to wake her up and she wakes up screaming and hugs him scared.

G (scared) - Are you okay?

Realising it was Gautam she was hugging, Siyali moved back, stopped crying and wiped her tears. Gautam gets some water and helps her drink.

G - You alright?
Si - Hmm. Thanks.

She nods her head and looked uncomfortable. Seeing that she was uncomfortable,

G - Do you want me to leave.

Siyali shakes her head but still looking uncomfortable.

Si (shy) - Aap Gautam ho na?
G - Ya.
Si (shy) - Mere bhai?
G (laughing) - Not exactly. Distant relative hoon.
Si - Oh! Nurse ne kaha ki aapney Mujhe admit kiya tha yeh kehke ki main aapki behan hoon.
G - Haan.
Si - Phir, Yeh log police ko kyun bhulana chatey the?

Siyali asked Gautam questions quietly and respectfully as she wanted answers.

G - Chinta karney ki koi baath nahi. Tumhara accident hogaya tha. Like really big accident. Isi liye.
Si - Oh.

Siyali rolled her eyes trying to think. Gautam, who was looking at his laptop, looked at her and sees a tear dropping off her eye which she immediately wipes off.

G - Agar rona ka mann kar raha hai, just cry it out. Dukh ko andhar rakhney ki zaroorat nahi hai.
Si - I know. Par patha nahi kyun? Kisikey saamney ro nahi paathi hoon. I guess I wasn't someone who cried a lot.

She looks at Gautam who just looked at her without giving any expressions.

Si - I'm relieved.
G - Huh?
Si - At least I know I wasn't a cry baby.

Gautam burst into a small laugh, after which both of them laughed.
