Ab Kya Kare?
RECAP: When a traffic-light turned red, Angad stopped the car. Kannan, was sitting directly behind Angad, came forward so that she was almost right next to him. Her head was resting beside his head-rest, she went a little more forward so her chin was resting on his neck. She pulled her arms forward and rested on his chest so it seemed like she was hugging him (passionately) from the back.
Angad reached university; he parked his car and walked towards his friends in the canteen. Kripa was in the canteen too but further away.
He went in and Kripa followed. They went to a table near the wall and Angad ordered some food which he was sure of that even if Kripa didn't love the food but it would be okay for her to eat at least. The food came then……

Part 13
The food came and it didn't seem as if it were for one person only.
Kripa shocked that Angad would eat that much all alone asked: Angad aap itna zyada khao ge?
Angad snaps: Kyun? Main nahin kha sakh ta kya? I can eat how much I want, why do you care?
Kripa taken aback: I was just asking….never saw you eating that much.
Angad and Kripa were sitting opposite, Angad held up a spoon (with rice on it) and moved it towards Kripa. Kripa didn't notice at first but when she saw the spoon in front of her he questioned him.
Kripa: Angad what are you doing?
Angad simply ordered her: Open your mouth.
Kripa confused asked: What?
Angad: Didn't you hear? I don't repeat myself?
Kripa didn't know what to do so she just opened her mouth a little. Angad just put the spoon in her mouth and she had no idea what to do so she just simply swallowed the food and held the spoon but Angad didn't leave it either.
Kripa surprised at what Angad just did: Angad yeh…
Angad just ate from the other plate and held the spoon up for Kripa again and nodded towards it so Kripa ate again.
Kripa: Angad what is this?
Angad eating his food: What? Can you eat? No! Because of that wrist, right?
Kripa slowly nods: Yes, but…
Angad: Yah so that's why I brought you here so you can eat at least…it would have been weird at university, wouldn't it?
Kripa: Yah but Angad you don't have to…
Angad leaves his food and explains Kripa with his hand: Kripa I brought you here so that you cane eat at least. Yesterday you got hurt kind of because of…
He didn't finish and started to eat again. He held a spoon up for her again.
She didn't eat instead she was looking at him the whole time and finally asked: Angad aap ko lagta hai ke aapki waja se mujhe lagi hai, isiliye aap mujhe yaha lekar aai hai?
Angad without looking up says: Kripa are you gonna eat or not?
Kripa looks at him for a while and says: Angad…
He interrupts and answers as if annoyed: Kripa are you eating or not?
Kripa ate, she knew that he felt guilty for hurting her. Like that he kept on eating and feeding Kripa, they didn't talk much. After a few minutes, when they were about to finish, Kripa looked around, she saw some people looking at them and grinning. Kripa kind of felt a little embarrassed.
Kripa in a low voice: Angad log dekh rahe hai.
Angad: Toh?
Kripa repeats again (almost like whining): Angad log dekh rahe hai?
Angad puts down his spoon and faces her: Hann toh?
Kripa: Toh? Toh ajeeb lag ta hai.
Angad goes back to eating: Kyat um unhe jaan ti ho?
Kripa: Nahin.
Angad: Toh phir ajeeb kyun lag ta hai?
He holds up a spoon for her.
Kripa hesitates at first then eats unwillingly (unwillingly because she still feels odd).
They finish quickly and Angad pays the bill and they go out. They walk. Kripa takes out some money and gives it to Angad.
Angad: Yeh kya hai?
Kripa: Woh khane kille.
Angad: I just did what I should have.
Kripa: Lekin…
Angad: I said it and that's it.
After a few minutes of silence.
Kripa: Angad thanks.
Angad: Kripa I want to get this thing straight. Don't get any silly ideas now. I'm not being soft to you or anything like that for any reason or even that. (He nodded towards her bandaged wrist.) I'm just doing it all because I did a mistake. I shouldn't have broken that glass. I feel guilty and now I've finished my job. I don't feel sorry for you or anything. It's just me, I'm satisfying myself because I just felt it wrong, breaking that glass…..for no reason. Don't get any ideas about being friends with me or anything. Got that?
Kripa had thought that maybe he had started to feel that she might not be the one behind those things which he thought she did but now after Angad said all that her insides ached for a second. But she continued soon enough…it's good that he told earlier, better than later at least. I shouldn't have expected him to change…and that even towards or about me. Kripa nodded.
They reached the car. Angad got in first then he unlocked the passenger seat for Kripa from the inside. They both set and before Angad started the car he held out his hand. Kripa looked at him questioningly.
He simply stated: 12 Pounds. (Pounds are used in Nottingham.)
Kripa confused, didn't react. Angad noticed it and explained.
Angad: Your bill, remember you just ate from the restaurant.
Kripa understood but she was still confused, she began to take out the money from the bag while he continued.
Angad: I didn't take before because that was on the street, though there weren't many people but I felt weird taking money that time.
Kripa wanted to smile at that but didn't, it was that funny though. She kind of felt that it was kind of expensive. She gave him the money and they drove back to university.
The day at university ended and Angad drove somewhere with his friends. Kripa waited for a while for Prithvi to come. She hanged out near university with her friends while waiting for Prithvi. He came about an hour later. They sat in the car and drove home, Kripa wanted to go home that day. While they were in the car:
Prithvi glanced at Kripa's wrist and asked: Is that okay now?
Kripa: Haan thora sa. Thora abhi bhi dard hota hai.
Prithvi: Kripa mujhe nahin pata lekin are you sure ke tumhe darwaze pe lagi thi.
Kripa a little nervous now as she never lied to Prithvi about anything: Ha…Haan Prithvi. Lekin tumhe kyun…
Prithvi: Come on Kripa. Sab jaante hai ke tumhe jhoot nahin bholna aata. Just tell me. What happened?
Kripa thought for a while then let it out: Raat ko jab mein us toote hui glass ko utha rahi thi toh lag gaya tha.
Prithvi nodded understandingly: Toh tumhe bandage kise bhandha.
Kripa: Woh…
Prithvi continued: Tum khood toh aisa nahin laga sakh tit hi, kyun ke tumhe khod lagi thi, toh kisne bandage lagaya.
Kripa: Woh…Prithvi…actually….uummm…..actually Angad ne laga ya tha.
Prithvi turned, right away, towards Kripa shocked and screamed: Angad bhai ne?
Kripa was expecting that so she had her head bowed. She nodded.
Prithvi looked back at the road: I can't believe it. Angad bhai ne?.....Kripa are you joking?
Kripa moaned: Prithvi…
Prithvi still in shock: How can he…..I mean why would he…I mean…
Kripa turned to look at him: Prithvi, Angad nature se ache hai. Unhe mujhse problem hai bas yeh hai. Lekin…..but he cares for people. He's not bad by nature.
Prithvi stays silent for a while then his expression turns to anger: Kripa I really want to kill Kannan. Bhai us-pe itna yakeen karte hai. I just want to kill her. If bhai ever know whatshe did then he'd hate her like nothing and he'll feel guilty, very guilty for not trusting you even when all of us love you so much, trust you so much. Kripa it's just because of you that I'm quiet…..warna maine bhai ko khab ka bata diya hota.
