What a beautiful reference, Priya. Mindblowing.
He knew he can't react now. Like Krishna he knows there's a time and place for everything. Krishna forgave 100 of Shishupal's sins and tolerated them. He too has to tolerate Malay now and be patient and wait for the right time and place to strike. He's such a great strategist. Even better than Nandini. Arjun Bhim Keechek Draupadi analogy is also apt.
Wow, another example of Mahabharata. Another angle 👏
Applying paste on Nandini wounds helped him to distract himself and also give him a good reason to stay in the tent. He could both protect Nandini and know Malay plans now. I love how his husband feelings arose. He knew she was so alone now. She needed him badly. Once more husband duty. He knew he has nothing to fear from Malay now as he's not in his senses. Along with applying medicine to her physical wounds he's also applying balm to her emotional wounds and hurt by Malay with just his mere presence.
Iam simply speechless priya. You have observed how they communicate without words with each other.
I love the way she politely but firmly told him that even after marriage she'll be the mistress of her will. She wont bow down to him ever. She's fiercely independent and stay that way.He may control her body but he'll never control her soul. Malay saw he's losing to her that too before a maid and an old man. His ego couldn't take it. All his attacks are futile. I don't think even if he was sober he would act any different. Now his weakness is anger which ruins power to reason.
@BOLD - Ah, i wanted to include that line - in front of old man and a maid. I forgot. Later i thought he was too drunk to observe anything... then i thought such an arrogant royal prince wouldnt bother who is standing next to him and who is not.. This point left me totally confused. So i decided to leave.. 😆
A man acting under anger is a fool too. He's like Duryodhan. Don't know if he has any Shakuni though. Him trying to kiss her was like Dushyasan. He knew Chandra was her weak point. So he struck there.
He has. Just like Duryodhan, he is also a puppet. No brain of his own. Brain is someone else. But i simply loved the apt reference you made.
He tried to make her jealous and insecure. Is Nandini not fair skinned? if so why did he mention fair skinned foreigner? He could have just told foreigner.
I have not given any description of the hero and heroine. I wanted the reader to develop a face of their own, as they read the story.
But yes, we Dravidian are all dusky skinned. Thats why the Foreigners, the Yavans as they were called during that era, were generally referenced as Fair Skinned. Coz they were much fairer than us. I like the curiosity to learn while you enjoy the story. I spent a great deal of time researching this era during my previous FF... so i am really happy to share such minute details.
When you can't win in a fair way use wrong ways. When you're bad show the other worse. That's what he's trying to do now. He's trying to mislead her. But he didn't know she's a princess who'll break but never bend.Even if she's hurt she'll not show him.
