All ticks this time. Proper breakfast, spared the Maggi today, Lunch done, laundry done, if an update doesn't come our way, I'm afraid I might end up kodanjufying the pantry to make some sweet, which I absolutely shouldn't be doing 😆 .

Saving Vaidya...

The Vaidyas had arrived the night before. Harit had pored over his case documents pretty much most of the night unable to sleep

The family had taken over an entire hotel at this point, at last count, 68 rooms. For a weeding planned 4 weeks ago it was not bad at all

He layback on his bed. His best friends Maneet Chehel and Akshat Tripathi both in Air Force were going to be here AM

His brothers were his first line of defence from the world. Most of his graduating high school class had ended up as Army brats. He had friends in the Trishul airforce base as well

Law school brought some international friendships but he had come home to law practice. Hemant was anointed to take on Vaidya legacy.

He was the chosen one now.

He could hear Chandan throwing a fit as late as midnight in his parents room

He had gone over asking them if he can have the kid for the night

His mother had refused

His bed was strewn with papers, he looked at his right hand the ring was a bit loose, he had told his mother strictly, he only wanted a plain band, the platinum band was almost in a gunmetal grey tone.

He was sent some jpeg images by the Guptas

He had picked the one that was most somber

He shut his eyes to recollect the image of Avantika on enegagement day

He hadn't called her once or texted her

Neither had she

The lilac lehenga was either too big for her or she was yet another victim of Bollywood fashion

He couldn't help but smile impishly when that thought crossed his mind. Between her lehenga, and her phone and the petulant nephew, her hair had come loose in various tendrils around her face

He forgot to even look at how long her hair was he thought

He sat up clearing his mind of those thoughts as he heard commotion outside

It was just 4:!4 AM

He opened the door to find Maneet and Akshat walking towards him

"Drop and give me 50 he grinned

They chuckled as they hugged

"Dulhaaa Maneet whispered, pinching his moustache tip

He looked very fit, Harit teased him about it as the men went inside and spent the rest of the morning catching up

He had no pictures or texts to show his friends

If they thought it was mighty odd they did not say it

His mother who was too stressed to sleep peeked and was pleasantly surprised to find the other two men

"Chai bhejen? she asked gruffly

The men got up to touch her feet, and she hugged them

"Inko kuch sikhayen aap. Hamari koi baat nahi maan rahe. Haldi inhoney pairon mein lagwayi hai. Aur kisi ko aur kahin chhoney nahi diya, batao

Maneet laughed out loud

"Aunty he is saving himself for Avan? Avantika Maneet supplied

"Ma aap sabko kyon keh rahin hain? Harit was not happy

"Apke bhaiyon ne chup chaap sab rivaaj karwaye

"Ma... Harit shushed her, with a wave "Please can u stop that now tone.

"Shaam ko baart hai, do dost aur aane waale hain bahar se, bata rahe hain Lakshmi relayed

"What about our class? Akshat asked

"All of them should be arriving the night Harit nodded

He is not able to sleep at night, a little nervous, a little excited not knowing how she is.. he's wholly aware of how big a deal is this in his life. HE VALUES LIFE CHANGING MOMENTS.

He knows chandan is his responsibility. He doesn't wait for marriage to give him a sanction . He's not shirking away looking at his tantrums . He's not thinking what I've gotten into . He's going to his parents room to say I can take care of him , give him to me. HE VALUES RESPONSIBILITY.

He comes back home to practice law . He is thrust to take forward his family legacy after his late brother. He's no stranger to Brit English but doesn't hesitate to admonish chandan to speak in his native tongue when the little boy tantrums screaming in English. He could have just looked after himself choosing to stay back and look after his interests and that wouldn't have been wrong by any means in the way most of us live today HE VALUES ROOTS , TRADITIONS AND LEGACY.

He may have taken chandan away from school using legal means but knows what Avantika means to this little boy. In seeing his marriage to her as a effective way out of this mess, HE VALUES REASONING .

He keeps a pic hidden in his chest of drawers ... may be the pic if kept out in the open can draw some memories, painful at that. He VALUES EMOTIONS AND SENSITIVITY.

He handles Probono cases. He is Gutsy to take on life the way he thinks appropriate. HE VALUES PEOPLE MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE.


And last but not least... How cute is this , him staring at his ring , a ring that's a little loose , but still adorning his finger , thoughts of her putting a smile on him. HE VALUES COMMITMENT.

BUT BUT We will wait to see if HE VALUES ROMANCE.. WHAT SAY NISHA? Ha ha.

Deal is such an iffy word in legal jargon. Funny, talkative , popular , is what he is to the outside world but boy!!! Harit Vaidya ... What a huge package deal has Avantika struck!!!

The baraat was late as the groom wanted to wait for his Brit friends to shower and change. There were over 25 friends in all, between military brats, UK, current Bareilly friends and his vacation friends
