Chapter 1

Cadet Naina & Captain Rajveer Poori shaam aur aadhi raat tak jungle mein akele aur ek saath...

Standing right in front of the board, with no emotions on his face, Rajveer is reading each and every word very carefully. He does not know how to even react to this. Firstly, he was sent to solitary confinement due to Major Bharghav's lies and fake trap, and now this. What is he suppose to do at this moment after realising his love for Naina?

Suddenly, he feels someone's strong presence. Without turning around, he understands who the person is, yes she is none other than his Cadet Naina ah Singh. He does not need to turn around in order confirm this, he can smell her scent and he can recognize her footsteps. This is the last thing Rajveer expected. After realising his feelings for Naina, he does not know how to face her.

She was going towards her class, but she noticed Rajveer standing right in front of the board, reading it. All the cadets are present in the hallway, watching her, yet she does not care. The only thing she wants to do is talk to her Rajveer sir and question him regarding all this misunderstanding. With her eyes cascaded downwards, nervously, Naina starts taking baby steps towards Rajveer.

Reaching there, she stands few steps away from Rajveer while Rajveer does not turn around. Naina shifts her vision from Rajveer towards the board and then back towards Rajveer, trying to find proper words in order to speak to him.

"Sir pata nahi kis ki badtameezi hai ye..kis ka idea tha ye"

says Naina, nervously, her eyes cascaded downwards .

And before she could speak any further, they both hear Dr. Ritu Mishra's voice from the back.

"Cadets! Aapki classes nahi hain? Move it"

Turning around, Naina looks towards Dr. Mishra and finds her talking to the group of cadets and ordering them to move towards their classes. Within few seconds, all the cadets leave from there, and now are left, Dr. Mishra, Naina and Rajveer.

Walking towards Naina and Rajveer, Dr. Ritu stands few steps away from Naina.

"Cadet Singh! tumhe toh ye bhi idea nahi hai ke tumhari wajah se tumhare sir ko itni sharmindagi or pareeshani hui hai"

scolds Dr. Ritu looking towards Naina.

Naina immediately looks towards Dr. Ritu with confused expressions.

"ma'am"

Now looking towards Rajveer, Naina speaks further.

"Sir...sir aap bhi toh jante hain...sir please kuch boliye..ye..ye sab log..sir please boliye kuch"

says Naina, pleading with her eyes for Rajveer to say something.

Naina is unable to understand why Dr. Ritu Mishra is blaming her for all this. What is exactly her fault? That she respects and trusts Rajveer the most in this academy?

"Cadet tum bolo..."

yells Dr. Mishra, confronting Naina

But before Dr. Mishra could say anything further, she gets interrupted by Rajveer. Without turning around, Rajveer speaks.

"Dr. Mishra mujhe Cadet Singh se kuch baat karni hai"

his voice is stern and cold with no emotions whatsoever.

His cold voice skips the heartbeat of both Naina and Dr. Mishra. Without uttering any other word, Dr. Mishra leaves from there, but not before giving a dirty look towards Naina which confuses Naina but she decides to ignore it for now.

And here they are now, alone, standing in front of the board. There is silence for couple of minutes as Rajveer does not move his gaze from the board even for a single minute, without blinking, while Naina shifts her vision from one thing to another.

This silence is killing Naina, she wants to say something, ask questions and what not. She cannot take this anymore. She needs to be the one who should break this silence. Unable to bear this anymore, Naina decides to speak, but not before closing her eyes tightly in order to get some courage. Opening her eyes, she looks towards Rajveer.

"Sir"

calls Naina softly

The way she calls him, it melts his heart. Right now, he wants to turn around and take her into his embrace, wipe all her worries away, but, he cannot. He cannot fall weak. Not just for himself, but for her, for his love. He needs to start keeping his distances from her, for her sake. He does not want anyone talking rubbish about her. Without looking towards her, he decides to speak in his cold and stern voice.

"Kya chahti ho tum cadet Singh?"

questions Rajveer

A cold shiver goes through her spine as for the very first time she hears him speaking in such a cold tone. Her heartbeat picks up pace and it feels as if someone has dragged the Earth from underneath her feet. For the very first time, she is scared today.

But she cannot just stay quiet, she needs to answer him.

"Mein..kya...chahti?"

stammers Naina

Immediately, Rajveer turns towards her. Naina gets stunned on finding his eyes blazing with anger. She immediately lowers her gaze . She is unable to face his anger. She waits for him to speak up, but he does not. Yes, he is waiting for her to look up in his eyes. Understanding his demand, she finally surrenders and looks up in his eyes immediately.

"Kyun tum yoon baar baar apni har choti si problem ka solution lene mere paas dhori chali aati ho?"

questions Rajveer, raising his voice

His sudden question stuns Naina. Why the sudden question? Wasn't he the one who told her that he is also one of her friends? Doesn't he know that he is the only one whom she trusts the most in the entire academy. And above all that, he is her mentor.

She wants to lower her eyes, but, Rajveer's intense, constant and demanding gaze forces her to keep the eye contact. Lots of emotions are evident in both of their eyes; hurt, guilt, helplessness, and what not.

"Kyunke aap mere mentor hain sir or mein aap par sab se zayada trust karti hoon"

utters Naina, looking intensely in his eyes

He knows whatever he is about to do or say, it is wrong, but he has to do this for Naina. Still keeping the eye contact, Rajveer takes a step towards Naina.

"Mentor hone ka mathlab ye nahi hai ke mein tumhari har choti choti problem ka solution doon or agar tumhare liye mentor hone ka yehi mathlab hai toh mein abhi or issi waqt tumhara mentor hone se inkaar karta hoon"

shouts Rajveer

Naina shivers at this sudden yelling from Rajveer. She feels as if someone has splashed cold water on her face. She has no idea what exactly she is feeling. Her eyes starts tearing up, but she manages to keep her tears inside. She wants to look away but his authoritative gaze does not give her the permission.

"Sir aapko pata hai ke mein aap pe trust karti hoon"

whispers Naina

Even though Naina is trying her best to hide her tears, but they are not hidden by Rajveer. And this is what breaks him the most, her tears. But today, he needs to keep himself strong. He needs to do something which he would never want to do, but to keep her away from himself, he needs to do this. Yes, she might hate him afterwards, but he has to do this. He cannot let anything happen to his Naina.

Taking two more steps towards her, Rajveer grips Naina's right elbow and start making his grip stronger by every passing second. He hates doing this, but he has to do this. On the other hand, Naina feels a sharp pain in her body, but she needs to be strong. Even though his grip is hurting her to the core, she does not show it and keeps staring in his eyes.

Now, he is about to tell her something which will change her life completely.

"Tum us insaan pe kaise bharoosa kar sakti ho jis ne tumhare bhai, Captain Naveen Singh Aaluwalia ko maara ho?"

shouts Rajver

Chapter 3

Pacing up and down in her room, Naina is extremely restless. She is unable to understand why Rajveer is lying to her and why is he ignoring her? His ignorance is like a punishment to her and she cannot bear this anymore. She needs to find out the truth behind his behaviour. But now the question is, what should she do? What should her next step be?

Just then, a thought crosses her mind. Right, after Rajveer, Alekh knows her the most in the academy and she is sure that he'll have answers to her questions. Everyone judged her at some point, but Alekh, he was always there for her like a true friend and like a brother. She decides to speak to Alekh.

Walking out of her room, she heads towards the boys hostel. Within few minutes, she reaches there and thankfully, there is no one in the room except for Alekh.

Without knocking, she pushes the door open with her full force and rushes inside.

"Alekh mujhe tujhse baat karni hai"

Says Naina

Alekh, who was busy drinking, he puts his drink on the side and gets up from his bed on seeing a worried Naina. Naina is like a sister to him and from the past few days, he is worried for her as he knows exactly what's happening with her and Rajveer.

Getting up, he walks towards her and now stands right in front of her, looking directly in her eyes and holding her by her shoulders.

"Kya baat hai Naina?"

questions Alekh

Naina's eyes starts tearing up as she tries to explain the current situation of her and Rajveer's.

"Alekh, Rajveer sir mere sath aisa kyun kar rahe hain?"

questions Naina

This sudden question from Naina surprises Alekh. He does not know that Rajveer's ignorance is affecting her to this extent. Alekh, somehow, figured out Rajveer's feelings towards Naina. Not just him, a lot of people in the academy figured this out, except for Naina. Alekh is shocked, how come Naina did not understand the reason behind Rajveer's behaviour?

He does not know if he should tell her that her Rajveer sir is in love with her and this is why he is ignoring her, for her sake. Pretending to be confused, Alekh lowers his eyes and leaves Naina's shoulders.

"Apun ko nahi pata ke tu kya bol rahi hai Naina"

replies Alekh

But before Alekh could lie further, Naina points her right hand's index finger towards him in frustration.

"Jhoot mut bol Alekh. Mein janti hoon ke tujhe sab pata hai"

yells Naina

Alekh knows how stubborn Naina is. If she has decided to find something out, she'll find it out somehow. Looking back up in her eyes, he looks at her, concerned.

"Tujhe sach mein nahi pata ke Rajveer sir aise kaiko kar rahe hain?"

Questions Alekh softly

Getting surprised, Naina moves her head from left to right; as a sign of telling him that she does not know.

"Nahi Alekh! Please mujhe bata"

Requests Naina.

With full confidence, Alekh holds her by her shoulders and looks at her softly. He knows that this is the right time, Naina should know the truth.

"Naina tune kuch nahi kiya. Captain Rajveer ko tujhse pyaar hogaya hai issi liye wo khudko tujhse door kar rahe hain"

Explains Alekh

Naina's eyes widens at Alekh's confession. What the hell is he talking about? Her Rajveer sir is in love with her? She looks towards Alekh with shocked expressions.

"Ye..ye..tu kya keh raha hai Alekh? Ye..ye sach nahi hai. Tujhe koi galat fehmi hui hai"

Stammers Naina

She is not able to understand anything. Where on one hand she is shocked, on the other hand, she feels happy somewhere deep down in her heart, but shockingness overpowers her happiness. Alekh knows what Naina is feeling.

"Apun sach bol raha hai Naina"

says Alekh calmly.

Closing her eyes tightly, she tries to calm down and tries to think through the situation. She is unable to believe that in order to hide his feelings, Rajveer is telling lies and behaving rudely towards her. At the moment, she understands that he is hurting himself more by pushing her away.

Unknowingly, a smile of satisfactions creeps on Naina's lips. This shocks Alekh. Why the hell is she smiling in such a condition? He looks at her shockingly and is sure that something is going on in her mind. He shakes her a bit, in order to get her back to reality.

"Tu theek toh haina? Kaiko itna muskura rahi hai?"

questions Alekh.

Naina's smile gets wider at this questions. Opening back her eyes, she looks softly at Alekh.

"Rajveer sir mujhse door rehna chahte haina? Toh yehi sahi. Mein bhi dekhti hoon ke kab tak wo apni feelings se bhaagh sakte hain"

says Naina, happily.

Alekh does not understand a single thing that Naina has said. He looks at her with shocked expressions.

"Tere dimagh mein kya chal raha hai? Tu karne kya wali hai Naina?"

questions Alekh

Naina's smile gets even wider at this.

"Here starts the jealousy game"

replies Naina

With that, she exits from Alekh's room, without waiting for his answer. Alekh just stands there dumbstruck, trying to understand Naina's words.

Next Morning

Rajveer, in his room, sitting on his couch, is thinking deeply about the entire situation that took place with Naina yesterday. He has lied to Naina about Naveen's murder; not exactly lied, but he told her half of the truth. He knows that if he tells her the truth, she will never go away from him. In fact, she'll be sympathized towards him, and this is what he does not want.

His heart swells with so much love for her after seeing her trust on him. His eyes twinkles with hope. He thinks maybe she'll understand his feelings, but no! He cannot let this happen. There is no way he can confess his love for her. He needs to make sure that she does not find the truth about Naveen's murder, that he is hiding. He will help her find Naveen's murderers and the people who framed him, but not yet, this is not the right time. Right now, he needs to stick to his lies.

Wanting to have a cup of coffee, he gets up from his couch and makes his way towards the Mess. Locking his door, he gets out of the door and walks in the direction of Mess.

With in few minutes, he reaches there and walks straight towards the front counter. Smiling, he looks at Suriji.

"Suriji ek coffee please!"

requests Rajveer in a gentleman style

Smiling, Suriji gives him a warm and a big smile. Suriji loves Rajveer just like his son. Even though he is not married, so, he does not know what a son is, yet he considers Rajveer as his son.

"Abhi laya puttar!"

replies Suriji

Smiling, Rajveer makes his way towards one of the tables. As soon as he is about to sit down, his gaze falls on two people on a table right across from him. He is shocked to see whatever is happening in front of him.

There they are, his Cadet Naina ah Singh and Cadet Amardeep Huda, holding each other's hands tightly, smiling, looking intensely in each other's eyes.

Rajveer is not able to believe this. These two are so into each other that they do not even realise that he is standing here. Suddenly, jealousy and possessiveness takes place in Rajveer's eyes. His right hand turns into a fist and he looks towards both of them, angrily as he decides to make his way towards their table.

Isn't this what he wanted? Didn't he want Naina to stay away from him? This is exactly what's happening and he is not happy, in fact, he is angry. He cannot take this anymore. He needs to do something, before reaching their table, he clears his throat loudly in order to get their attention.

His eyes starts blazing with anger when none of them even move even an inch and stays in their position. He has had enough. Now, he cannot take this anymore. This is not done Cadet Naina Singh Ahluwalia. Yesterday, you were showing so much trust and today, you are busy with Cadet Amardeep Huda.

Rajveer's anger reaches to another level. Stomping his feet, he walks towards their table, angrily.
