CHAPTER 7




After noon, Roli and the team were sitting and chatting to each other after the meeting. The conference was over and Siddhant was dealing with the delegates. The meeting was quite successful. Siddhant's presentation style really made Roli amazed. He was so charming!!! Some sort of infatuation was active in the air. Asmitha was relieved to see Roli and Sid separated for at least a few moments as Sid left to leave the delegates down at the parking lot. But soon, things changed as Sid entered the workstation waving a "hi..." to all. Asmitha smiled on seeing him. Sid coolly entered the place and without the ego of a typical boss sat on one of the desks. "So...what's going on?" he enquired. "Nothing Siddhant...Just chit chatting..." said Asmitha interested to answer him. Sid raised his eyebrows and expressed great. "So boys...how many poor creatures had the girls done postmortem by now? I mean...scrutiny in terms of height to..." he hissed something in Akhi's ears to which he laughed like hell. "Siddhant...you're so funny..." commented Akhi. "Yeah...I'm...any doubt?" asked Sid with a wink."Do you think girls don't have any better work than scrutinizing you guys?" asked Roli keeping her right hand on her waist. Sid smiled and shoved off the question which made Asmitha happy to the core. Sid smiled at Asmitha and said "Usually they say, if a girl got brains, then she won't be beautiful and if she's beautiful, she'd be the biggest idiot...but I won't agree to it after coming to this office..." Asmitha was so much happy with the comment which she thought was about her."Thank you Siddhant..." she said. "Sorry Asmitha...I didn't talk about you..." said Sid. All broke in to loud peals of laughter whilst Asmitha got up and kicked on her chair angrily. "Hey girl...I was joking..." said Sid. But she had already left the place with thundering steps. "Ego issue...okay tell me then, whom did you talk about?" asked Abhi. Sid looked Roli with the corner of his eyes which was visible to her too and conveyed it is solely about her . Roli looked down with an obvious blush whist Sid smiled mischievously. "Siddhant..." asked Abhi. "Areyy...our Nishfa...see...quite cute, quite silent...just in to work..." sad Sid. Nishfa gave an embarrassed smile because she wasn't the one who enjoyed being noticed. "Shittt!!!You lost it!!!Nishfa??? Just run your eyes to the project management team and then you can..." Akhi stopped midway as he saw Roli's sharp eyes on him. "Ahem ahem...got work..."said Akhi as he settled back to his chair. "Chalo...then...we'll also get back to works...Roli come in...Nishfa I need the file 345 on my table by evening? is that okay?" asked Sid. ? "Yeah..." Nishfa said with a smile. "Okay then..." Sid walked in to his cabin. Roli followed him taking couple of files with her.


Roli entered the cabin smiling. "Okay girl...so the meeting is success...We bagged the deal..." said Sid excitedly. "Yeah...that's so good...your presentation did the work..." said Roli. "Ya may be...but your work too has got equal role in its success..." appreciated Sid. "Thank you..." said Roli. "Okay now...I think it's time for you to go home and take a bit of rest...you look tired..." said Sid. "Rest???no need...I'm perfect...i don't wanna go..." said Roli. "No yaar...you're going..." said Sid sternly. "Siddhant listen...what will I do if I go home at this time...Bhaiyya won't be home and it's gonna be boring..." said Roli. "But Roli..." began Sid. "Enough boss...gotta do a lot of work..." said Roli. "None can win you in words..." said Sid nodding his head. "I know..." said Roli with a smile. "You smiles cutely..." said Sid. Roli looked Sid crossing her arms. "Seriously????" asked Roli sarcastically. "Yeah...True..." said Sid. "Acchhha..." Roli begun ready to start a duel. "Girl...I'm not flirting...okay..." said Sid. "Oh ho...but it seems so...' said Roli. "That's not my mistake sweetheart..." said Sid smartly. "Hmmm...this won't go that easily..." said Roli. "Obviously not..." said Sid. Roli rolled her eyes. "Joking yaar...then if you're not going, you continue with your works...i just got some files to deal with...' said Sid. "Okay..." said Roli. She smiled and left the cabin whilst Sid looked at her intently

Roli settled on her workplace with a smile adorning her face and a melody humming on her lips. Asmitha was still in the effect of Sid's taunting words. How on earth he could feel that she wasn't wise and beautiful at the same time? Non sense. He's in the spell of that Roli, thought Asmitha in order to console herself from the blow. She saw some files near her to be completed and so lazily took them and started working on them.



It was a Saturday and so they had work till 4 only. By 3:55, everyone was literally waiting for the exit. That was when Sid came out smiling mesmerizingly as usual. He sat on Akhi's table and started "Guys..It's weekend...So a small plan...like, we would spent this evening in my flat...i have messaged my address to all your numbers...So at 7...hope all of you'll join..." Roli expressed a surprise in this; everyone was surprised in fact. The monster Ashok never said such a dialogue. In fact he was such an introvert that he kept himself away even from office parties. "Guys...leave the magic world...tell me if it's okay..." said Sid making everyone come back to senses. "But Siddhant...arranging such a get together needs sometime...how are you gonna manage it in the eleventh hour?" asked Abhi. "Abhi...The thing is...arrangements are all done...I had this plan right from the morning..." said Sid. "What???Then why didn't you tell me????" asked Roli. But she realized that the question was too much and bit her tongue. Sid smiled at her, making her flush in embarrassment. "Actually..I don't have the habit of saying things at first...I do things and then let others know what was in my mind..." said him thinking intently. "Good..." clapped Akhi. "Okay your response..." reminded Sid again. "okay..." said all in a tone. "Good...so now...it's 4 and we're leaving...Catch you all at 7...bye guys..." said Sid. Everyone took their stuff and stepped out. Roli tiptoed through the basement when Sid turned his car and stopped near her. Asmitha and the others were going in the opposite road, so Roli chose to go by taxi. Sid smiled and said "get in..." Roli nodded no and Sid raised his eyebrows. "See...all of them are leaving in Abhi's car...So you come in..." said Sid. "No Siddhant..I'm not going home...I got some shopping..." said Roli. "So what???I will leave you at the complex...don't worry...just come in..." he said opening the door for her. Roli with a hesitant smile entered the car. Asmitha who was sitting in Abhi's car saw Roli entering Sid's car through the rear view mirror . Her eyes widened in surprise and shock. "Abhi...see...Roli in Siddhant's car..." said her. "So what???You're in my car...similarly she's in his car..just natural..." said him. "please follow them Abhi...let's see what's going on..." said Asmitha. "Come on Asmi...it's 4:15...i have to get ready for the get together in Siddhant's home...just chill.They are not gonna make out in the car and even if they dies it doesn't affect you! " said Abhi and others supported him nodding their heads. Asmitha watched with a cranked face as Abhi started the car and she could see Siddhant driving away with Roli.



"Why shopping now? For the evening?" asked Sid in a teasing tone. "No...I got to get some other essentials..."said Roli. "Essentials...come on tell me...Let me know what your essentials are..." Sid started again. Roli raised her eyebrows. Why on earth is this guy asking the same over and again? "Girls got a lot of essentials...you need not know...I think you're studying for Asmitha lately..." said Roli. Sid's face shown embarrassment to peak, he looked red. Roli realized that she had probably gone bit too far. "I'm sorry..." he said in a low voice. "It's okay..." replied Roli with a chuckle. Then it was silence in the car. Soon, Sid stopped by one of the most posh shopping complexes. "Thanks..." said Roli as she got down. "Cut it from your list...I'm your friend right?" asked him. Roli was surprised. "Ya girl...i don't believe in this boss and employee thing..Let's be good friends...he na?" he asked forwarding his fist to her. "okay.." said Roli as she bumped her fist with his. "Should I wait here?" asked Sid. "No...it will take me some time...you can leave..." said Roli. "Okay then go...don't get late...will see you at 7..."said Sid. Roli nodded with a smile and Sid started the car. Roli saw him with a smile on her face and then walked in.



Much later at 7. At one of the posh apartments in Mumbai. Roli stepped in to the lift to reach the 9th floor where Sid was living. It was 6:57. She smiled to herself as she reached the 9th floor and looked for flat 9 E. She found it and walked through the spacious lobby to reach there. 'Siddhant Bharadwaj'- she read the name on the door with a smile and rung the doorbell. The door opened in no while and Sid received her with a big smile. He seemed little spaced out seeing her in a black knee length frock and loose hair, totally different from her office attire and above all looking mouth wateringly gorgeous. He was also looking hot in black and that never failed to catch Roli's attention. " Hey Roli...you're here..." said Nishfa popping her head from inside. "They're all in for more than 5 minutes..Come in..." said Sid as he led her in. Roli studied the flat with her eyes lazily. It was really spacious and luxurious, so he is rich, thought her. But that didn't affect her, she didn't believe in luxuriousness unlike Asmitha who was crazily watching the items of the flat. "You're looking gorgeous..." said Sid looking her from tip to toe. "thanks..." said Roli with a blush creeping on her cheeks. Everyone was just praising roli with her looks, Asmitha looked angry as Sid appreciated Roli. She had worn a really short frock and did a lot of make up to impress him, but he didn't even utter a word on her look. Now this girl had come in one of the simplest looks and he felt it gorgeous. He's an old stuff, she said in her mind. "Sit..."said Sid to Roli. She sat next to Nishfa on one of the comfortable couches. "So the gang is complete...let's party..." said Sid. "okay bro..let's begin.." said Abhi as he stood up ready for partying.
