PS. Also Abhi Naina getting physical was a shock. Can't imagine it.

Part 5

Rajveer took naina to Shalini at the infirmary

Shalini: She's stable now. But her health stats tell me that she's bee under a lot of stress in the past few months.

I didn't know she was Naveen's sister. We overlapped for a few months at KMA. After his death I always meant to visit his family but I was never able to gather enough courage.

Rajveer: Naveen's death affected all of them but perhaps it affected Naina worst. She's had to maintain a strong facade for so long. She hasn't even had time or space to grieve properly.

Shalini: Weill I am glad she has you in her life now.

Rajveer (thinks): If only you knew how much pain I bring her

(Aloud): I'll take her to the room now.

Raj and Naina's Room

Raj placed Naina on the bed and as a reflex stroked her hair. He could see a peace and quiet on her face after a long time.

She had always been a happy-go-lucky person. In fact first Naveen and later Naina had helped him transform from a lonely orphan to a man who felt loved and accepted. He longed to do his bit for Naina. To bring back her old self.

Naina slept through the night. When she got up next morning she found Raj working on some files.

Raj: Good morning Naina! I hope you slept well. Go and freshen up. I'll make you some coffee.

She returned to find that Raj had gotten an entire spread ready - spanish omelette, coffee, Toast. Despite her protests he made sure that she ate everything.

Raj: So today's a saturday. Why don't we go out somewhere? A movie perhaps. There's an SRK film in the theatres and I know how much you adore the King of Romance!

Naina snapped

Stop it Raj. Stop this pretence. Don't behave like we are a normal couple. Cut to the questions you actually want to ask me -

What's my relation with Abhi?

Why I didn't tell you about it earlier?

Am I still in touch with him

etc etc.

Raj: Stop Naina. None of these questions matter to me! The only thing I want to say about this is that I am sorry Abhi treated you the way he did. You didn't deserve it.. And i.

Naina: Stop the holier-than-thou nonsense. My brother didn't deserve being betrayed by you either. Now if you don't mind I need to go out!

Raj: Why? You need rest

Naina: I need to work on something confidential and can't do it here..

Raj: Stay. I'll go.

And without another word he left the room.

Raj came back after 5-6 hours. He saw that Naina had fallen asleep with some files in her hand. He went towards her and gently removed the files from her hand.

His eyes couldn't help notice the files. Naina had a file on every faculty member at KMA right from Brigadier Chandok down to Suriji. He was concerned for her. He knew she was playing with fire! But he knew she was too stubborn to stop.

Suddely his eyes fell on the last file she was clutcing tightly. As he caught hold of it, his eyes teared up and he felt a sharp jab of pain. The file was on him "Major Shekhawat"

He knew he had lost her trust but it hurt him tremendously to see that things were this bad.

Naina: How dare you?! You have no right to touch that. Or any of my things for that matter.

Raj: Why do you have a file on me? What do you want to know? Ask me directly.

Naina: I said leave my things. Don't go snooping around in my things,

Raj: I am asking you something. Why do you have a file on me?

Naina: WHY? WHY?! Because you were the one who arrested my brother. Who knows what all you gained from it except your promotion?

Raj: What are you trying to insinuate?

Naina snatched the file and walked away, But for once Raj needed answers.

He held her by the shoulders

Raj: Why do you keep bringing up the promotion? What do you mean I had something to gain?

Naina: Everyone knows that you had always been no 2 behind Bhaiya. In the academy, in postings. Heck even in your personal life. Maybe years of seeing bhaiya have more than you. have a better luck, have a better life had made you jealous.. And you thought this was the best way to...

Naina never finished her sentence. There was a sharp crash. Naina turned around to see the broken pieces of the mirror and drops of blood on the floor.

She looked up and was horrified to see raj's hand covered with blood. But worst still his eyes were bloodshot and his face had turned white.
