After a few minutes all three of Tom, Victoire and Fluer sat in the Burrow's living room with Victoire crying in Fluer's arms, and the Divorce Deed lying on the table.

"I ad no idea... Fluer said as her own eyes watered with her daughter's grief. "When did you receive it?

"This morning... Victoire replied amid sobs.

"I will talk to Harry...things don't happen this way...he'll listen to Harry... Fluer replied as she caressed Victoire's hair out of her face.

"No, you won't! Victoire answered pulling away from her. "I don't want him back in my life! She stood up wiping her face. She knew she needed to be strong, for her son.

Tom stood up too. "No one wants to see him back in your life...but he has to answer for this! He looked into her blue watery eyes and tear stained face. Ted had removed any traces there existed of the Victoire he knew at Hogwarts, he would have to answer for that if not to her, then to him. He strode out of the Burrow as Victoire and Fluer followed him outside but neither could stop him from disapparating to the Shell Cottage.

Outside the Burrow, hidden in the bushes, Latnok disapparated after Tom. He didn't know who Tom was going after at the Shell Cottage, but he followed in the hopes of catching him doing something incriminating.

Riddle who had the Castle to himself and its luxuries barely noticed when Tom left the Castle for Hogsmeade. He had stopped keeping an eye on him since someone else had occupied his mind completely. The first half of his day went brilliant because exactly like he had planned, after it he invited Padma to a private lunch in her room. It was something that he was growing rather fond of. He was half way through it when he received a patronus from Potter. How uneventful was this man? Always thinking about something that was to be done. Completely ridiculous. Nevertheless, Riddle bid goodbye to Padma and left for Harry's office.

Harry who had received a letter from the Ministry of Magic exonerating Roy wanted to show it to Tom so he could also find it easier to forgive his brother before Roy left to enact Latnok's plan. Harry remembered very clearly how Snape's loyalty had been a secret and how many misunderstandings had it created between he and Harry but now he wouldn't repeat the same mistake. He sent a patronus to Tom and Riddle to come to his office in 5 minutes.

A minute later Riddle entered Harry's office seeing Roy already there waiting for him.

"Where's Riddle?" asked Harry the moment he saw Tom alone.

"He did not want to come."

"Why?"

"Wasn't feeling like it."

"But I need him here. He ho-_" Harry was interrupted by Roy.

"Riddle's here?" Harry hadn't told him about that. He hadn't felt necessary. He knew when Roy would see the two of them he would understand.

"Yes."

"Since when?" asked Roy. He was feeling a little strange now. Had Riddle been roaming around the Castle in Tom's place?

"Since that night at the Ministry. Where is he though?" asked Harry turning back to Riddle who was being stared at intently by Roy who was looking at him very closely.

"I told -_" As Riddle started he too was interrupted by Roy.

"How remarkable..." said Roy. He had just spotted Riddle's wand sticking out of his back pocket. He knew Tom didn't have a wand on him. He didn't have it since that night. That meant that right now it wasn't Tom that stood in front of them, it was Riddle. What he was surprised at was that they couldn't tell the difference between the two. He had never seen the two of them together before except for that night and then neither looked anything like each other.

"What?!" exclaimed Harry when he heard Roy.

"It's Riddle, not Tom." He answered Harry's unasked question.

Harry stared at him. He couldn't tell the difference but why would Riddle swap?

"Where's Tom?" asked Roy suddenly advancing on Riddle. "What have you done to him?"

Harry noticed the wand in Riddle's pocket as well and realized that it wasn't indeed Tom. He staggered a bit and stood straight with the support of his desk. This only meant one thing. "He doesn't know..."

Riddle pulled out his own wand and pointed it at Roy who stopped in his tracks knowing exactly what Riddle could do with a wand. "You are right, he does not." said Riddle looking at Harry. "And for that matter he will not know about anything. We have given a precious month to this task and I will not let either of you ruin it."

Harry looked thunderstruck. "You've swaped for a month! Has Tom..." Harry didn't want to complete but then he didn't need to as Riddle did so.

"Yes, he has transferred his post to me. You of all people would understand its worth."

Harry closed his eyes in mere despair. Tom had trusted in Riddle. Harry would never do that but now as the post had transferred there was nothing he could do. What worried him now was that Tom didn't know Roy was here and when he would find out about it, it would be disastrous.

Roy who had been quite relaxed a few minutes ago now felt his heart racing. Tom hadn't seen him. What would happen when he would?

"I'll talk to him first." said Harry breaking the ice. All three of Harry, Roy and Riddle had stood in the silence of Harry's office for quite a few minutes, during which Roy had turned away from Riddle, who had pocketed his wand and Harry had devised a hundred ways to make it all easy for Tom and then discarded them devising a new one expecting it to be better than the last one then deciding it was quite the contrary discarded it again.

Before any of them could say anything else, however, Harry's office door crashed open and Twix came running in. "Professor Harry, Tom in trouble... Twix started then stopped seeing Riddle.

"Where? Harry asked ignoring Twix's confused expression.

"But... Twix looked at Riddle again not understanding. He had just seen Tom catching a deadly curse from Ted s he was returning from his grocery shopping. He had immediately apparated to Hogwarts to inform Harry on Harry's orders and here he was looking at Tom quite fine.

"Twix, where?! Harry pressed already suspecting his answer.

"At Shell Cottage.

Tom apparated on the hill in front of the Shell Cottage. Unlike before, the sea breeze did nothing to soothe his heart. He strode towards the door of the small cabin. It blasted off when Tom was inches away from it. Tom stopped short realizing that he was losing the control he had worked so hard to retain.

"What the--_ Ted who had run down at the sound of the blast stopped the moment his eyes fell on Tom on the other side of the door.

Tom stepped inside knowing quite clearly he was becoming a danger to both himself and Ted but he didn't care anymore. He was done taking any more crap from someone like Ted.

Ted raised his wand at Tom ready to cast an unforgivable curse.

Tom swished his hand and Ted's wand flew out of his hand away from him in a corner of the room. "How dare you do this to her?

"What do you care?! Ted retorted rather bravely despite the fact he didn't have his wand on him anymore. He stepped forward even more bravely. "If anything, you should be thanking me...now you are allowed to have her...now that I am done with her... He smirked, his eyes glinting with malice but not for long as the second these words escaped his mouth, Tom had grabbed his front and pinned him into the pillar behind him.

"You would be dead right now, if Harry wasn't your Godfather. Tom whispered. He couldn't speak. His breathing was so intense. It was taking every ounce of courage that he had to stop himself from blowing Ted to bits. "And you dare stand here with your mockery and your ridicule...after everything you've done...you stole her from me...for what?! For this?! You tried to kill her child...you don't deserve her...you remember that, you don't deserve anyone like her, ever... And before he could stop himself, Tom had punched him right in the nose feeling it breaking against his knuckles.

"That's enough!

Tom turned around to face Latnok who stood behind him with a raised wand as Ted fell on the floor, his nose bleeding.

Tom couldn't believe Latnok had followed him here. How had Latnok even done that? Tom had disapparated everywhere, how had Latnok managed to trace him here?

"I am arresting you on charge of breaking and entering and assaulting an innocent man.

Tom stared at him. He was stuck. He had no idea how he was going to get out of this.

"Oh, thank God, help me, please. Ted whimpered from the floor as Tom felt his remaining control desert him completely. He swished his hand and heard a gagging sound from behind him. To his satisfaction, Ted had been silenced. Tom was getting better at using magic without a wand.

Latnok looked a bit fearful now as Tom stood facing him, not really doing anything or trying to explain himself. He knew Tom might curse him as well the way he had done with Ted. He wasn't expecting him to be this powerful.

"Stupefy! He decided to stun him. Ted would testify of his crime in the Wizengamot, he could stun him to capture him. But the next second something happened that he wasn't expecting at all. His stunner was deflected back at himself and he caught it in the chest. That was the last thing he remembered before he fell.

"There goes your help. Tom said turning back to Ted now feeling relieved but to his dismay not finding Ted on the floor anymore. He had slinked away to his wand in another corner of the room. And right now had his wand pointed right at Tom who felt the Sectumsempra Curse tearing through more than just his flesh and bones as he fell now more vulnerable than Ted. He had cast the curse non-verbally. How he had managed to do that Tom had no idea but that did explain why he was a celebrated auror at the Ministry of Magic.

"Need you in my office, in 5 minutes! A stag appeared over Tom's bleeding figure and announced as Ted recovered from the silencing charm.

In a matter of minutes he had removed the silencing charm and stood over Tom's bleeding and crouching figure on the floor. "You are ten different kinds of stupid, Tom. Even Harry doesn't know you're here. He pulled him off the floor grabbing his front. As he did, his eyes fell on the tracker burning out with the blood pouring out of his chest. His curse had burned the tracker right of Tom's flesh. So, that's how Latnok had been able to follow him here. "You are in some trouble, aren't you? He smirked looking at the stunned figure of Lanok a few feet away. "And you came here for her? He turned back to him rather surprised. "Why are you after her so desperately? Or is it that monster of a son she has? You want to recruit it to the Dark Lord's army, don't you?

Tom who could barely stand pushed him away with all his might. "You're sick!

Ted who seemed to be enjoying himself a second ago looked angry now. "And you're dead! He raised his wand again, "Avada Ked-_

"Expelliarmus! Not yet. A cold and angry voice answered from the doorway.

Ted turned towards the door to see a Tom Riddle dressed in navy blue T-shirt and black Jeans advancing on him slowly. He turned back to the one in front of him but he had disappeared.

"Surprised? Riddle smirked at Ted's shocked expression which turned to comprehension almost immediately. He had disillusioned Tom.

But a moment later Riddle was taken aback as Ted threw a kick in open air in front of him and caught Tom in the chest as he fell backwards through the dining table which crashed underneath him. Tom had been disillusioned but he was still solid. Ted had understood there was two of them. He retrieved his wand as Riddle stared at the crushed dining table now really annoyed.

"I told Harry, Tom was working with you! But Harry doesn't listen! Now I've got you! Ted pointed his wand right at Riddle seeing his expression turning from annoyance to rage.

"Really? Think again, why don't you? Riddle lowered his wand and stood with his hands behind his back rather amused that the fragile little man in front of him could actually think he could hurt him.

Ted stared at his audacity but smirked at his stupidity. "Sectum--_

Before, Ted had completed, however, he was stunned by who he had no idea as Riddle hadn't even moved a muscle.

"You stole my moment. Riddle said shrewdly to Harry who appeared out of nowhere followed by Roy who ran to the disillusioned Tom right after he appeared.

"Remove your charm! He turned to Riddle who stared back at him angrily. He wasn't used to taking orders let alone from the man he had been ordering a few months ago.

"Get away. He replied icily to Roy and bent over a disillusioned Tom who was quite visible to him. He removed the charm to hear both Roy and Harry gasp. Tom was out but he had bled out enough to fill a tank and apparently his head had cracked open where it had collided with the table.

Riddle swished his wand and his head sealed itself. His bones snapped back in place with multiple sickening cracks and he closed his eyes to counter the sectumsempra curse. Soon, he stopped bleeding. Riddle levitated him and disillusioned him again the moment he was out of mortal danger and disapparated to Hogwarts.

Harry and Roy looked from Ted to Latnok both stunned in a nearly destroyed house.

"Harry, he has to find out some day. Roy said after a moment reminding Harry of the nightmare he had been having before he had apparated here on Twix's call. Twix who had stayed outside the house on Harry's instructions came in not knowing what to do anymore.

Harry sighed. "Given his condition, I think it can wait. Harry replied quite exhausted.

"I don't think so, Harry. I have waited long enough for him to forgive me only to realize he had no idea of the truth...I can't take it anymore. He has to find out some day, might as well be today. And before Harry could stop him, Roy disapparated to Hogwarts apparently to reveal his presence to Tom who was still oblivious of it.

"Don't let him reach Tom. Harry ordered Twix who snapped his fingers and disappeared as Harry levitated Ted with himself and disapparated to Godrics Hollow which was empty. He couldn't leave him lying around when he could spill everything to Latnok. He would tie him up in the attic before returning to Hogwarts to deal with Roy.

Grr...what timing! Latnok will now go on a completely unnecessary track in his bid to get back at Harry and Tom while bigger things brew. Vic, you are lucky to be rid of that monster ted. Don't you remember what he tried to do to your child?

Harry returned to the Shell Cottage after trapping Ted in his attic. He fixed up everything that had broken, shattered or otherwise been messed up. As the last of the debris reversed itself neatly, Latnok stirred and Harry covered himself in a disillusionment charm quickly.

Latnok came to feeling as if a truck had run him over. He clutched at his chest as he felt a throbbing pain in his sternum. His own stunner had bounced off Tom as if he was made of metal and had struck him instead. He looked around blinking furiously. There was no sign of Tom or Ted here. In fact, there was no sign of a duel here at all. He sighed heavily and pulled out his wand. He checked his tracker to see Tom's current location but his wand only produced a wisp of smoke that disappeared quickly. That only meant one thing that his tracker had been destroyed. But that was impossible. He had embedded it in Tom's flesh. It was a military grade tracker, not very easy to procure. It could not be destroyed without being torn out of his flesh and the last he remembered Tom was invincible to common curses. Perhaps, he was not so invincible to unforgivable curses.

As he thought over it, Latnok realized that each time Tom had been landed in the hospital wing was because of some dark magic or poisonous creature. That night at the Ministry, Harry had told him Voldemort had cursed him with some dark magic. Unforgivable curses were dark magic. Latnok shook his head. Baseless deductions would not get him anywhere. He needed proof. He had no idea what had happened here while he had been unconscious.

He needed to find out but he didn't know where he could find Tom. Latnok sighed again trying to clear his head and then it came to him. Where would Tom go if not his home, Hogwarts? Latnok decided to pay him a visit there and see for himself exactly how he had managed to escape his tracker. He wouldn't be in one piece if he had. He thought of apparating there directly then stopped. He needed a reason to be at Hogwarts at this hour. He was glad he had just the thing. Without another thought, he apparated to the Ministry of Magic. He had to call someone there before leaving for Hogwarts.

Harry who had stood disillusioned let his breath out finally. He sent a patronus to Ron. A couple of minutes later Ron's reply came. "He's here, at the ministry. In his office.

Harry sighed with relief then realized he wasn't going to be relieved any time soon. He disapparated to Godrics Hollow.

"God, get away! Roy shouted loudly as he found Twix stuck to his leg. He would just not let him take another step to Tom's room.

"Professor Potter has ask Twix to keep Professor Roy far from Tom. Twix will not go away!

But after Roy managed to shake him off, Twix did go away. Feeling relieved, Roy made his way back to Tom's room. He had only just climbed the first floor when Twix returned and to his dismay with an army of house elves from the Kitchens. Roy hung his head in defeat but the next second thought of Tom and pulled out his wand.

"What the hell do you think you were doing, using an unforgivable curse against Tom?! That was the first thing Harry asked Ted the moment he clambered back in his attic.

"I was trying to defend myself! Ted answered defiantly. Harry had taken his wand. He sat miserably on the bed Harry had set up for Tom just last summer. "Nothing else seems to work on the Dark Lord's son! Or you would rather I would have let him kill me?!

Harry looked like he was going to curse Ted himself. "Tom would never try to kill you! And it isn't because he is noble, it is because you are my godson!

Ted stared at Harry in disbelief. These were the exact words Tom had used when he had attacked him. He decided to be as stubborn as Harry was, however. "Alright, I enjoy the sight of him bleeding to death! But I sure as hell did not summon him to the cottage. He was there of his own free will. Why don't you ask him; why he decided to show up on my doorstep?!

"Enough! Harry had no idea what Tom had been doing at the Shell Cottage in the first place. He decided to focus on the reason he had confined Ted here. He pulled out his wand and Ted backed away automatically but he had no choice at the moment.

"What are you doing? Ted asked fear quite visible in his eyes.

Harry froze for a moment seeing that fear. He could never dream of harming Ted and here he was with his wand out. But Ted had not left any options open to him. "Close your eyes. Harry said quietly but Ted did not. Regardless, he would have to face what was coming to him. "Legilimens!

Harry saw Ted's memory of the past hour and felt his heart sinking. "Why? That was the only think he could muster after he had removed the curse.

Ted who had crashed on the attic floor the moment Harry had lifted the curse looked at him with such loathing that Harry could not bear to see in his eyes but he still stood resolutely. "I will...never...forgive you... Ted who could barely speak managed to form one sentence and that was all he had to say. His head felt like it was in pieces. Everything was moving around him. He had seen the flashes of his own memories with Harry and he knew what Harry wanted to know but he wasn't going to give a satisfactory answer to him.

Harry felt his entire body getting cold. Ted had divorced Victoire. He had not expected that and the least he had expected was his defiance. Ted did not seem even slightly embarrassed by his actions.

"Do you even realize what you have done to the woman you claimed to love? To your son? To our families? Do you have the slightest idea of how this is going to impact our relationships? Harry asked feeling his own rage getting the best of him.

Ted finally stood up breathing heavily. Harry did not feel sorry for him at all. Ted who knew that stood in front of Harry facing him. "You mean, to the woman Tom loves? And to the child that will grow up to be a monster? And as far as our families our concerned, I am no longer a part of either of these families, because the truth is, Harry, that I was never one of you and I never will be!

Before Harry could stop him, he pulled his wand out of Harry's robes and walked out of the attic knowing that what Harry had brought him here for was over. Harry knew what he had done. Harry who had frozen realized it a second later that what he had meant to do had not happened at all. He followed Ted down the stairs and before he could walk out of the house, locked the door from behind him. Ted stopped and turned back to him angrier than before.

"I can't let you leave. Harry said quietly raising his wand again.

"I would like to see you try. Ted raised his own wand.

"Stupefy!

"Sorry, what's going on? To Harry's surprise Hermione asked from his window pocketing her wand. "I was supposed to do that, right? She asked Harry who pocketed his own wand. "Sorry, I got late, Ron asked me you wanted to see me here.

"Yes. Harry nodded relieved.

Hermione raised her eyebrows. "Well, do you mind letting me in?

"Oh, sorry. Harry pulled out his wand again, swished it and his front door was unlocked.

Harry who had sent a patronus to Ron after trapping Ted here to inform him of Latnok's arrival at the Ministry had also asked him to send Hermione to Godrics Hollow.

"So, what's he done this time? Hermione asked once inside.

Harry sighed. "We will talk about that, at the Burrow tonight when Ginny and I come by, if that's ok? He asked hesitantly.

Hermione shrugged. "Alright. Why am I here then?

"Because you're good with memory charms and I need you to remove the past couple of hours from his mind.

"Harry, is everything alright? You still haven't told me why you want me to remove his memories.

"He knows about Riddle. He can tell Latnok to get back at Tom. I hope you are familiar with his dislike for Tom.

"How did he find out?

"That is a story for another time, Hermione, I need you right now, please.

"Alright.

"Latnok is leaving the Ministry. Another patronus of Ron's found Harry as Hermione raised her wand. Harry nodded to her to continue. He had to be back at Hogwarts as soon as possible. Be ready for anything.
