I agree, but everyone takes time to learn 😛😉

While the morning went wonderful the afternoon turned into a complete disaster for Riddle. He entered the class he was supposed to be invigilating and found it filled with first years, mere children and he hated them. He just couldn't stand the noise.

"Good Afternoon, Professor." A small girl with a smiling face stood up. She was Sylvia, Malcolm's sister. Riddle, of course, had no idea who she was or why she was so pleasant with him. She had been Tom's teddy bear ever since he had met her. He simply loved her. She was very lovely. She had big blue eyes, jet black hair that curled at ends, she was fair as milk and there was quite a dark tinge of pink on both her cheeks.

"Good Afternoon." Riddle replied quietly. He wasn't expecting any greetings. The little girl waited for a couple of minutes as if expecting more than what had been said. Tom usually wished her exuberantly, kissed her on the left cheek and asked her about the weather. He did it regularly as he loved to hear the answers she gave. She spoke of things too big for her, quite innocently and sweetly.

"Professor, I needed some help." She proceeded after a minute.

"How can I help you?"

"Professor, Patrick has been kicking my chair for the last five minutes and he is not stopping even when I'm telling him to. I don't like him, he's very rude, he keeps throwing paper balls at me and calls me words I don't understand."

Riddle stared at her. Who was she talking about? Riddle who didn't care about a little girl's problems, didn't answer her, quietly turned around and made to the desk where examination papers lay. He swished his wand and all papers flew to the students as Sylvia sat down mournfully. She was near to tears at being completely ignored.

The bell rang and time for exam started. As all students poured over their answer sheets Riddle started patrolling the class. Half an hour into it and he heard a commotion in the middle of the class. As he approached there he saw 2 boys jumping out of their seats and then right on top of each other. A brawl had broken out between Josh and Patrick. Josh who was Sylvia's older brother had been observing Patrick badger Sylvia couldn't contain himself and had more confidence with fists than wands.

Riddle broke the two of them apart with a swish of his wand. "What is going on?" He asked quietly as the rest of the class gathered around them.

"He punched me, Professor!" Patrick shouted through a bleeding nose.

"He started it!" replied Josh in the same high tone.

"Go to the matron." Ignoring both their complaints, Riddle told Patrick to leave who left smuggly concealing his wicked smile beneath the blood that he had escaped without so much as a scold.

"But, Tom, he was kicking Sylvia's chair for a while then he pulled her hair, I saw it, we all saw it, don't let him get off so easily." Josh protested. Being on personal terms with Tom he had forgotten to call him Professor which wasn't unusual for Tom, he had given the liberty to the entire Castle to call him by his first name.

"Be quiet!" Riddle looked at him angrily. How dare did a student call him by his name. It was no doubt Tom's fault but now that Riddle had replaced him he would make sure nothing like that continued. "Have you forgotten your etiquettes?"

Josh felt like Tom had actually lost it. What was he doing? Patrick was his least favorite student because he was not only mischievous he was also harmful. He had been in a brawl with Josh once before and he had broken 2 of his teeth. Madam Brown had grown them back, it had been painful. "Tom, have you lost it?" said Josh quite beside himself. Hugo who stood with Lily in a corner was also watching all this quite frightened. They had never seen Tom with that composure. He was always smiling and telling them everything will be fine and here he was doing the wrong thing.

For Riddle, Josh had finally crossed the line. "I believe if you do not know any of your own, I will have to teach you some manners myself but you would learn better as a parrot than as a human, young boy." Riddle pointed his wand at Josh. The boy was turning 13, rather old to be a first year student. Riddle had no idea why he was still in his first year but he was sure now that he had no idea how to behave. But that didn't matter as he would learn a lesson today that he wouldn't forget easily.

"Locomotor Mor-_" Before he had completed the spell he was thrown 5 feet from where he stood. The entire class stood transfixed looking for the source of whatever had happened but as Riddle stood up he was staring at the doorway where Tom stood under the disillisionment charm. Tom had offended Riddle.

********************************************************************

Tom sat down quietly on his bed as Riddle left. Now was the time when he would finally try to make things right. But he didn't know how. He didn't know how to control his powers. The only thing he had to hold on to was Riddle's advice and he decided to implement it. He got up from the bed and sat down on his side of the floor. As he did so he felt the cold stone floor, the light streaming from the window right into his face, he could hear the sound of the birds chirping outside the window, could smell the scent of the flowers that he so loved and suddenly he felt distracted. He felt distracted by all of it. He knew if he tried to practice isolation here he couldn't because he wasn't alone. The sunlight, sweet sound of the birds and the scent of flowers all accompanied him there.

As he sat there a thought struck him. Riddle had tried his patience making him do everything he hated, perhaps, that was the key to it all. Maybe, that was how he was going to be able to rid himself of all emotions? He couldn't tell for sure but he had to try. Right now he sat at the place he felt most comfortable at but right in front of him was the place he felt most uncomfortable at. The Riddle's side of the room, dark, cold, odorless felt too dull to him and he hated it without sunlight or candle light. He had never preferred cold fire over the burning one even if it had burnt his own self but right now the choice was between better or worse and he had to choose wisely. He chose better.

Tom stood up and went over to Riddle's side. The moment he stepped into the black part of the room he felt complete silence around him. A silence so profound he could hear his own heartbeat. There was no scent or warmth here to distract him. He sat down on the floor. He sat there for complete five minutes doing nothing, not even thinking because there was nothing to think about there. No birds, no flowers, no sunlight, nothing at all. He closed his eyes. He sat there for half an hour with his eyes closed and doing nothing. No thought crossed his mind. Slowly he opened his eyes and quite aimlessly pointed his hand at anything which became its target and this time, it was his flower vase.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The vase rose up into the air and higher and higher it went. Finally, Tom lowered it back to the table. The moment the vase landed on the table without a crack a wide smile flickered on Tom's face. This was the first perfect spell he had performed after days.

Tom decided he was calm enough to do more. He stretched out his arm to the Dumbledore's portrait that now had a slight layer of dirt over it. "Tergeo!" The dirt flew away as the frame hung shining. Tom felt brilliant. He had performed two spells and both had been perfect. He tried to do more. He stretched his arm out to the vase again, "Diffindo!" and the vase shattered to pieces. "Reparo!" and the vase mended itself neatly as good as new. Tom felt like he was suddenly free. Every single spell that he had performed had worked. Now, he knew that only anger stimulated his problems. He was fine otherwise. He had to practice with something better than the dark side of the room to distract him.

He knew what will have to do. He would have to practice in a duel to reach perfection. And that couldn't happen without Riddle. But until then Tom couldn't just sit in his room doing nothing. He had to get out. He decided to get back to practice to fly again. He hadn't flown in days. What if, he couldn't anymore? But in order to get to the tallest tower of the Castle he would have to leave here and for that he would have to disillusion himself. Tom closed his eyes once more and stood in silence like in a vacuum. No thought occurred to his mind when he performed the spell. When he opened his eyes he couldn't see himself but only the room could be seen.

He had performed another spell with perfection and now his surprise was wearing of. He had started taking it all for granted. He left the room locking it behind him. Everyone was in their respective classes. The first exam of the day was in progress so he wouldn't cross anyone on the way. Tom took the stairway to the astronomy tower, the tallest tower of the Castle. As he reached there he saw a class waiting there for their individual predictions taken by Professor Minerva Mcgonagalle. Tom climbed even higher and came out in the open as fresh, cold air hit his face. He felt like he was breathing again.

With a leap of faith and without another thought he jumped down. He fell through open air that blew his hair out of his face. A feet from the ground he slowed down and then rose slowly skywards. Up and up he went happier than he had expected. He could fly, better than before. The one thing he could do without fault. He had flown like a bird. He couldn't contain himself. He flew as long as he could. He flew his heart out. Above the forbidden forest, over the huge towers of the Castle, unseen, unheard, he went soaring up.

Finally having flown all he liked, he landed softly on the ground. As he did so the scars on his torso stung wildly. Open wounds as they were, they had been exposed to dirt while he had flown. Although they were of little importance but they did hurt. As the thought struck him Tom realized that if he had to get better mentally, he would have to procure physical health and this time he wouldn't let any loops unattended to that. Inside the Castle he made straight to the Hospital Wing, forgetting momentarily that he was disillusioned and couldn't be seen.

He entered the wing to see Madam Brown fussing over a little boy Tom knew quite well. The first year Slytherin Devil, Patrick. He had always had a knack of beating people down for no reason at all. Tom had remembered him because the last time Gryffindors and Slytherins had a joint session with him, Patrick had a fierce fight with Josh. But this time he was surprised to see Patrick with a broken nose.

"What did you do to yourself?" Madam Brown was as curious as Tom was.

"I dib't do abythib. Josh puchbd me. He got served doo. He'd be sddudering like a parrod now."

Although it was impossible to understand him both Tom and Madam Brown got what he said. Josh had punched Patrick but what did he mean by he would be stuttering like a parrot?

Tom had to know. He left the wing immediately. On the way he suddenly remembered, he was supposed to be invigilating first year Slytherins and Gryffindors in the afternoon exam. He ran to the class he was going to take. He reached there just in time. Standing in the doorway, he saw Riddle, his wand stretched out towards josh about to turn, transfigure him...stuttering like a parrot...into a parrot!

Tom concentrated with all his might. A non-verbal spell would take more than what he had, "Diffindo!

***********************************************************

More to his own surprise than anyone else's Tom had performed the spell perfectly without harming himself. As he stood smiling his smile faded as Riddle got up from the floor his face contorted with rage.

"How dare you?!" Riddle thought as Tom heard it clearly. They often communicated that way or it happened naturally. They kept their minds open with each other when they wanted to. That way others never knew what was happening.

"He's brother to Malcom, the librarian. I got him into Hogwarts on a special request. You harm him, you give us away." Tom justified himself. He couldn't afford a duel in front of the entire class.

Riddle stared at Josh angrily then thought it all over. Tom was right, if Josh had been touched Potter would have known of their switch. "Resume your seats." He said out loud to the class. "and continue your exam."

Tom sighed with relief as the class went back to their work. Riddle on the other hand approached Tom who backed away automatically. "I meant no harm, seriously." He muttered to him.

"That, we will make out at the end of the day." Riddle retorted back. He was angry by Tom's attack and Tom knew it but he couldn't have helped it. As Riddle opened his mouth again to warn Tom to avoid anything like that in the future his eyes fell over his shoulder on Harry who was approaching as fast as he could towards the class and to his surprise followed by none other than Lestrange.

Riddle looked at Tom. He had just performed a perfect spell. He hadn't expected that kind of improvement in one day but Tom had done better but now if he saw Lestrange all would be lost. It was a decision he would have to make. Riddle looked into Tom's eyes, put his hand on his chest and performed the spell non-verbally, "Stupefy!" Tom flew 10 feet from where he stood as the spell hit him squarely in the chest. He lay stunned on the floor not knowing what awaited him.

Harry approached Riddle assuming him to be Tom with Roy behind him. Riddle stood waiting for them in the doorway.

"I wanted to see you first of all after I came back." said Harry looking directly into Riddle's eyes who blocked him out. Harry looked away. Perhaps, Tom didn't want Harry to see what he felt for Roy, maybe he felt too devastated. Riddle stood staring at Roy. Why was he here, now? Potter had brought him here himself, for what? When he did not speak Harry continued. "I know it'll be difficult for you but you have to trust me. I am only doing this for your sake." As Harry spoke Roy looked down at his shoes. He had not the nerve to face the man he had betrayed. Not yet, at least. Harry would expecting Tom to explode was thankful he hadn't as they stood in a class of first years. He knew Tom was too angry to speak, he decided to let the matter rest for now. "Come to my office tonight after dinner, we'll talk about it then."

Harry turned to leave as did Roy but before he had taken a single step Riddle stopped him. "Harry." Harry turned back awaiting an explosion but to his relief none came. Tom simply stood there expressionless. "I want to rest. Send for a substitute. I will wait until he arrives." Harry looked at him a complete minute before realizing what he had said because he had never known Tom to run away from responsibilities. He had always fulfilled his task in time no matter how he had to do it.

Perhaps, seeing Roy back here he couldn't control himself and he needed to get away from the crowd, needed to go back to the isolation that would keep him away from Roy. If that was the case it was only for the good of all of them. "I'll send for Eric. He'll be here shortly." Harry nodded quietly then tapped him on the shoulder in silent consolation and left with Lestrange walking behind him with heavy footsteps.

Riddle who needed to take Tom back to the room had made the excuse. If the stunning charm wore off before they were back to the isolation of their room, there was a maximum chance that Tom would see Roy roaming around the Castle. Moreover, if the disillusionment charm that Tom was wearing wore off everyone would know there was two of them.

The moment Eric came, without a greeting or a farewell, Riddle left. While walking he levitated Tom with him and took him back.

"Enervate!" Riddle pulled out his wand that he had taken back from the side table during the lunch break to make arrangements for Padma and revived Tom after removing his disillusionment charm.

The moment Tom was relieved he sat up breathing heavily clutching at his chest. He stared at Riddle loathingly. "I will mur-murder you if you di-did that again!" He got out of the bed and walked heavily to the mirror. He felt as if he was carrying a huge weight on his chest. Riddle had been two inches away from him when he had cursed him.

"I can relieve your pain in a fraction of a second. Let me." said Riddle still sitting on the bed with his wand out.

"There's no ne-need for th-a-t. I can do it myself." said Tom as he unbuttoned his shirt in front of the mirror. As he did so, the gashes on his torso became visible. Riddle sat staring at them knowing that once again they were given by him. Should he feel proud then? Proud, at being the more powerful of the two?

Tom needed to heal the wounds first. He stared at the wounds with full concentration and performed the spell. "Healious Momento!" The open wounds started healing themselves until only scars were left which was a big relief as it was an end to the stinging. He then stared at his chest, "Relievio!" The tight knot in his chest loosened, the weight lifted and the pain vanished. He suddenly felt very light.

As Tom buttoned up his shirt, Riddle sat surprised. Tom had performed two basic spells perfectly. Where was the error then?

Tom approached Riddle and sat down on his part of the bed.

"I believe you hated black." said Riddle.

"I am trying to get used to it." replied Tom. "When I was practicing today, I felt more comfortable here than I did on my side. I performed every basic spell perfectly well. The problem, I figured, is that I can't perform any spell when I am angry."

"Or afraid." added Riddle.

"Perhaps," continued Tom. "but for that reason I cannot practice alone. I need to practice via duel and for that I need you."

Riddle nodded. "I know. By day, you can enjoy the isolation and try practicing to keep yourself calm even when you can't be and by night you can practice with me by a duel."

Tom smiled widely. A smile that now seldom crossed his face but when it did nothing felt wrong. "You know I flew today." He wanted to tell Riddle about it because he couldn't share it with Harry. "And I did it with perfection as I had never expected. I flew like a bird, suddenly relieved from all worries."

Riddle listened to him quietly. He felt the exact same thing when he flew. A bird, cunning and sharp-eyed, that could see everything, keep an eye on anything from high up there. He never mentioned to Tom what he felt. But he had to ask him something.

"May I ask you a question?" asked Riddle.

Tom chuckled. "Of course."

"Why did you follow Lestrange to the Ministry when he sent you a patronus?"

Tom's smile suddenly faded and he felt anger rising inside him. He got up from the bed and turned away from Riddle. "Why do you ask?"

"Because I am curious to know what made you risk your life for a man you knew only for a few months?"

Tom who had not spoken of any of it, since he had awoken now let everything out as tears ran down his face. "I was led to believe, that man was my blood, my brother. I was led to believe he loved me as I loved him. I was led to believe that I could trust him like I could trust my own shadow. I was led to believe that the brother I had found after years was in danger. I was led to believe that he had risked his life for me. But I was deceived again! For some benefit, that the Dark Lord wanted!" As Tom said so all the candles in the room extinguished. Riddle knew that if they kept this on Tom's anger would surpass him and so would his powers.

He lit the candles again with a swish of his wand. "Let's change the topic." He said quietly. Tom came back to his senses by his words. He wiped his face and tried to calm himself down. But now that he had spoken of Roy, he couldn't stop himself from thinking of him.

Riddle who had to drive him away from Lestrange started speaking."Tell me about your Patronus."

Tom looked into his eyes quite surprised. It was the first thing that Riddle had asked about Tom. But Tom was more surprised because being twins, their patronus should be same, so Riddle didn't need asking.

Tom cleared his throat before speaking. "My patronus is a lion. What's yours?"

Riddle suddenly felt caught up in his own question. He hated to admit it but he didn't have one. "I do not have a patronus." As he finished Tom stared at him stunned. Was it possible? Riddle continued when he saw him like that. "I could never produce one. I do not know why but I cannot. But then again I do not need one either."

If Riddle didn't, Tom knew the reason. The maker of a Horcrux steps into a world so dark, he can never produce light and happiness. But before he had spoken any of it Riddle already knew what he was thinking.

Tom sighed. "You don't mind if I teach you to produce it?" He asked timidly. He knew Riddle hated learning anything from anyone. He felt too learned already to do so. But to Tom's surprise Riddle's answer was more than pleasing.

"I will not mind."

Both Tom and Riddle took dinner in their room. While taking it Tom suddenly remembered something. He hadn't understood why Riddle had actually cursed him. When he asked Riddle he got the weirdest reply ever.

"Harry was approaching."

Tom stared at him. "So? He couldn't see me. You needn't have done that."

Riddle looked into his eyes. "You were bleeding. Harry would have seen blood drops on the marble."

Tom swished his finger under his nose. He hadn't felt anything. He hadn't even seen anything in the mirror. "I didn't see it?"

"I wiped it off before I revived you."

Tom was finally satisfied with his answer as they finished eating.

"I think we should not waste any time." said Riddle knowing that tonight he will have to go and see Harry so they will not be able to practice then.

Tom nodded. He understood the importance of his time specifically when it was short.

They stood themselves in front of each other and bowed to each other.

"I will offend. You will not defend but simply shield yourself." Tom nodded as Riddle said so.

Riddle pointed his wand at Tom. "Stupefy!"

The moment Riddle cast his spell Tom cast the shield charm. "Protego!"

Tom's shield charm was so powerful that it not only blocked Riddle's spell but also disarmed him. Riddle summoned his wand to himself. They tried once more. This time Tom concentrated harder. he knew he could do it. As he waited for the curse to come, he cast the spell a second earlier. He didn't know why but when he knew what was coming he couldn't help protect himself and the result was a complete catastrophe. The shield charm was so powerful it again covered the entire room. Tom stood in the centre of the room as Riddle flew into the opposite wall. He was slammed once again against the shield charm. But now he would have to break it.

Riddle concentrated hard. "Vansantio!" Riddle dropped right into the shield itself as Tom stood there confused not knowing how to succumb it back to him. Riddle looked into his drooping eyes. He knew Tom wouldn't be able to stand this any longer. "Don't give up. You are safe. You do not need this wide a shield to protect yourself." As Riddle spoke Tom realized that he was right. He didn't need this wide a shield charm to protect himself. He thought harder and the shield started reducing itself until finally it was spread about an area of a foot around Tom and Riddle was well out of its range. Tom smiled slightly. He had at least controlled the power he owned.

"Hold it, Tom." said Riddle. Although Tom had done enough for today, Riddle wanted him to take a step further. He wanted Tom to hold the charm and be protected against the stunning curse he would throw at him. Riddle pointed his wand at Tom once more. "Stupefy!"

The spell bounced off the shield charm. The moment it did Tom dropped the shield because he couldn't hold it any longer. He had already held it for quite long. He swayed a little. Wanting to avoid a fall he walked over the bed and sat down immediately.

According to Riddle this was better than before. And by now Tom was feeling the same as a smile flickered on his face and he was surprised to see the same on Riddle's face. He felt happy but as they silently celebrated their success Tom felt warm blood running down his nose. He took out his handkerchief and wiped it off immediately. Although that was the only thing that had gone astray that day, but after that as Tom and Riddle stared at each other both their smiles and beams had faltered. What if none of this was worth it? For Riddle it would be a failed experiment. For Tom it would be the loss of the only hope he had, the loss of his life.

Riddle knocked on Harry's office door after dinner. He had told Tom to take rest who had fallen asleep immediately anyhow. Riddle had then slipped away from the room and Tom hadn't even realized because he slept like a baby. Riddle had never slept like that. He could wake up even at the slightest of noises.

"Enter."

As Riddle entered he saw Harry sitting comfortably in his chair and Lestrange standing up from the chair opposite Harry and turning back to look at him. Perhaps, he had prepared himself for an apology.

Riddle looked directly at Harry as if Lestrange didn't exist. "What did you want to talk about?"

"Before I say anything, I think you should listen to what Roy has to say." said Harry quietly. He knew Tom couldn't even stand hearing Roy's name. It must be difficult for him to stand before him.

Riddle didn't turn to Lestrange. He simply stood staring at the space. Roy spoke, "I know it'll mean nothin' to you but I'm sorrier than you can imagine." His voice was still heavy with grief as his eyes watered to see his brother again knowing that he was in trouble. "I lied to you, led you into a trap, took you right into the arms of death, I broke your trust, insulted our relationship..." Roy couldn't continue anymore as thick tears slipped down his eyes. He wiped them off quickly. "I want you to know that I am sorry for what I did. But I want to justify myself. I didn't to anything for personal gain. I had to choose between my brother and the man who brought me up, the man who kept me off streets, I had to make a choice between my brother and my father. I chose the man who had been with me when I had no one over the brother I had found after years." Lestrange finished looking down at his shoes. Half way through he had lost the nerve to look at him.

Riddle stared at him. He was as much a sentimental as Tom or Potter. Too easy to penetrate. Riddle still didn't understand what made them so soft. He decided to say nothing in reply to his apology. Anything he'd say would directly impact Tom and he wanted to leave this decision for him as it wasn't for Riddle to make. He looked at Harry again "Why is he here?"

Harry looked at Riddle then at Roy who looked like he had been slapped in the face. This was more painful than falling off from the broom onto a pile of rocks, which had happened to him once when he had played for England.

"He is here to help." said Harry. "We need to find Malfoy, Roy can do that. He will play a spy on him for us and pretend to spy on us for him. He'll re-gain his position at Hogwarts to gain Malfoy's trust as being the one still in a vital position to spy on our plans against Voldemort."

Riddle stared at Harry. He had spoken the Dark Lord's name. How disrespectful. "I have to leave." He told Harry and turned around to go.

"Tom, stop, look, I know it's difficult for you to understand anything that Roy says but you have to. Because, believe me, this was not my decision. The Ministry has forced us to do this. I would have avoided this if I could but if I had the Ministry would have taken charge of this and Malfoy's infiltrations would have found out about this, and it would all be for nothing. And you know Latnok's looking for a reason to arrest you. If he had caught Roy and forced the truth out of him your life along with that of Riddle's would be in danger. I just want to see you safe."

Riddle nodded as Harry finished. "I am going to bed. Goodnight."

"Where do I stay?" asked Roy as Riddle left.

Harry sighed. He didn't want Tom to go like this. He wanted him to talk to Roy, let out whatever he was holding inside, lighten himself up and forgive him. He felt that he would improve a lot if that happened. But it hadn't. "You are staying where you stayed last, in your own room."

Roy nodded then, "I wanted to ask you," he said looking out of the window as if trying to look outside of Hogwarts, although it wasn't possible. "When will I leave for my task and return?"

Harry turned to look at him finding himself staring at his shoulder length black hair. Now he had properly looked at him and to his own surprise found a shattered man. He knew that inside he wanted Tom back at his side. He had been singled out like Tom, Harry and many others that had the misfortune of enmity with Voldemort. His hair which were usually dyed had turned to their original color. His face had fallen. He sounded like he hadn't spoken in days and looked like he hadn't even washed his face in days.

"Don't worry about it just yet." replied Harry. "We will have a meeting with Latnok before you leave. Tomorrow you are going to the court with me. You'll justify yourself, prove yourself not guilty for the murder of Rabastian Lestrange. Only then will you be allowed to resume your work here and implement our plans."

Roy suddenly turned back to Harry at that. "Why do I have to justify that?"

"Latnok and the rest of the Wizengamot has only my word of your innocence. They haven't your verification. They'll simply verify some facts."

"I won't be held guilty for the death of my own father!"

"He wasn't your father by blood."

"He was nothing short of one. He was, as a matter of fact, much better than the man who gave me birth."

"True. But that's how you feel and I know that or can tell that because I know why you did what you did and they don't unless you let them know and the only way to do that is to present yourself in court tomorrow and justify your presence and actions at the Ministry. Your case will be held in the afternoon but I want you in my office tomorrow morning. I will tell you the story we have put out to cover what's really going on. I want you to stick to it in the court."

Roy stared at him. He couldn't believe he was being blamed for the death of his own father. He knew that aurors were looking for him but he thought they were looking for him because he had helped Voldemort's soul come back but he hadn't once thought of this. He turned to leave quietly but before he had Harry stopped him. "Don't blame yourself for all of it. You didn't do everything, you did what you had to. Take good rest."

Harry patted him on the shoulder in silent consolation as he left. According to Harry both Tom and Roy were into pieces without each other although they had common lives, common objectives, common grounds.

Hehe, I can only cover one twin at a time, here's a bit about Tom, but since Riddle's introduction, I have been having a hard time maintaining an equal pace for both the characters. I hope you like Riddle Revealed 😃

I still don't like Roy being back:( and I don't like Harry trusting him so much.
Anyway, ok, true test of Riddle: when Voldemort rises, it will be tom vs Voldemort. Who will he choose? He will still side with Voldemort atleast according to his character graph till now but remains to be seen when he consciously or unconsciously changes his choice in this story.
Tom needs to continue to work hard. Let's hope this will all be worth it when the time comes.

Chapter 5

The Referred Teacher

Although, the first day of Riddle's invigilation passed in somewhat apprehension of being caught, the days after that passed quite under his control. He carefully avoided meeting all of Tom's friends and spent most of his free hours with Padma. That was something that he did with complete pleasure and no hesitation.

He barely ran into Roy who had now presented himself in court and with Harry's testimony of innocence been declared free of charge of Rabastian's murder.

Latnok was giving Harry hints of his visit to the Castle again to question Tom about the events that happened at the ministry but Harry refrained from worrying Tom about it until he was sure Tom was feeling better again.

Tom, on the other hand, had begun to control his powers again. His isolation from work, his concentration on practice and his oblivion to the fact that Roy had returned to live at the Castle had improved him a lot. In a few days, when he felt better, he started longing to leave his room other than for flying over Hogwarts which had become a customary part of his day. He knew he couldn't risk roaming the Castle. It was too dangerous. What if he ran into someone who had just seen him invigilating an exam on the other side of the Castle? And he didn't want to run around in the Castle, disillusioned. Riddle could still see him even if he was disillusioned, if he saw Tom following him around disillusioned he would think that Tom didn't trust him and that was something he didn't want him to feel. Tom didn't know why but he wanted to trust Riddle. May be because he had seen quite clearly in his mind that Riddle could not kill again, no matter what happened. And Riddle had helped condition him a lot.

Tom, however, felt that his leaving the Castle was certainly something that could go unnoticed. He was feeling much better now and dearly missing everyone. A couple of days before end of exams he decided to visit the Hogs Head to see Mrs. Morris and Michael. As soon as he was out of Hogwarts, Tom removed his disillusionment charm and made to the shabby Hogs Head. He ventured inside and sat on the bar waiting to see Stan Shunpike who had become a good friend of his. As Stan handed him his firewhisky Tom inquired about Mrs. Morris and whether Michael was doing good at Honey Dukes.

"Kid's a thumpin' good un! Real ard working chap. Oney Dukes owner, Belforth, came by day before fer a drink, seemed appy to me.

"That's great. Tom answered smiling from ear to ear. He was happy Michael was doing good, now he could support Malcolm with family expenses. "Thanks for looking out for them. I wanted to be around to do it myself, but I got busy up at the school.

"No problem, eh, I ain't doin' any favors, on'y playin' my part in a good deed. Tell you what, you teach me a few sharp curses for em non payin' cus'omers an' we'll call ourselves even. Deal? Stan winked at him. He had become friends with Tom a few months back when he had paid instead of his colleagues and later he had shown up with Mrs. Morris and Michael trying to settle them in Hogsmeade. Then Stan had realized that there was more to Tom Riddle than he had known. He had come to respect him just as he had respected Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter over the years. Some people simply had the potential to turn things for the better.

"Deal. Tom replied grinning.
