Hey guys!!! Before the update, I'd like to dedicate this update to my best friend, Karshia, who is the one who always loved jealousy tracks, while I on the other hand disliked them A LOT. But she has supported me through this journey a lot and in fact encouraged me a lot when I needed it most, so here is an update dedicated to her... I hope you like it Karshia, and the rest of my readers too. Here it is:
My Imperfect Mr. Perfect - Chapter 35 (Maha Update)
"Khushi," Payal whispered, tears of happiness brimming in her eyes, before she stepped forward and took Khushi into a bone-crushing hug which Khushi returned just as fervently.
"Buaji!!! Buaji!!! Look who's here!!!" Payal called Buaji, not letting go of Khushi.
"Apni jiji ko chodke kahan gayi ti tu Khushi? (Where did you go leaving your sister Khushi?) I missed you so much..." said Payal, tears running down her cheeks as she felt her little sister cocooned in her motherly arms after so long.
"I missed you too Jiji," Khushi said, tightening her arms around Payal. "Everything happened so suddenly, I didn't even know what hit me jiji... I didn't even know what was happening around me... If it wasn't for Arnavji, I don't know what would have happened to me..."
"Hai re Nandkisore! Titaliya?!" exclaimed Buaji. "Where were you?! Or ee babua kon hai Nandkisore? (And who is this man?)"
"Buaji!!!!!!" Khushi ran over to her Buaji and took her into a tight hug, jumping up and down in her excitement, tugging Buaji round and round in a circle while still hugging her.
"HAI RE NANDKISORE! Ruko! Are ruko Sanka Devi!!" Buaji exclaimed, almost feeling dizzy.
"I missed you sooo much Buaji," Khushi said, planting a loud kiss on Buaji's cheek. "I looove youuu..."
Arnav just smiled seeing Khushi in her Sanka Devi avatar - the crazy Khushi he'd first lost his heart to... He was seeing her be so carefree after so long, and it just confirmed to him that he had made the right decision by bringing her to meet her family.
Seeing Khushi so happy made him happy beyond limits... And he just hoped that he would be able to keep that happiness reside in his Khushi forever - every day, every minute, every second...
**********************************************************
"Oy Sanka Devi!! How many times do I tell you to stop?" Buaji exclaimed twisting Khushi's ear.
"Ahhh Buaji it hurts!" Khushi complained pouting.
Seeing Khushi like this after so long made Buaji's heart swell with happiness. She placed a hand on Khushi's head lovingly, "This house has been lifeless without you Titaliya... It's so good to have you back." Buaji's eyebrows furrowed, "But what exactly happened? We were only told that you were in danger and that you were being given protection by the police, and that you had to be kept away for a while for your own safety. But that's all we were told..."
"Buaji voh -" but before Khushi could explain anything to Buaji, she was interrupted.
"Khushi no," Arnav warned.
That's when everyone's attention turned to Arnav, who was still standing by the entrance.
"Who is this Khushi?" Payal and Buaji asked simultaneously.
"Arre Arnavji! Why are you still standing there? Come inside!" Khushi said, before she walked over to him, took hold of one of his hands and tugged him inside - and that didn't go unnoticed by Buaji.
When they were both standing in front of Buaji and Payal, Khushi introduced, "This is Arnavji, the police officer who has been handling my case. And he's been looking after me for the past few months..."
Then she turned to Arnav and introduced, "And this is my Buaji and jiji as you must have already guessed."
"Namaste," he greeted them politely.
Buaji acknowledged his greeting with a nod, "Thank you for looking after our Titaliya all these days babua, and thank you for bringing her back to us safely."
"I'm sorry for dashing your hopes aunty, but she hasn't come here to stay forever - at least not for now," Arnav said, professionally.
Buaji and Payal looked at each other in worry before they turned back to Arnav.
"Khushi is still in danger - I'm sorry I can't give you any more details than that, for your own safety, but I promise once all this is over I will hand your Titaliya back to you safe and sound. I shouldn't have even brought her here today as it's not safe for her, but she was missing you a lot so I thought I'll bring her to meet you once. But I need you to promise me something," Arnav said.
They looked at him questioningly.
"I need you to keep this meeting a secret - don't tell anyone about this visit of Khushi's. If anyone comes and asks about her whereabouts, don't tell them. Just say that she disappeared all of a sudden and you haven't heard anything from her since. Don't mention anything about me, the police or this visit. I hope that you both will comply with these conditions as it's purely for yours and Khushi's safety."
"We are ready to do anything for Khushi's safety, but how long is thing going to go on for? How can we stay here not knowing anything about where Khushi is staying and in what state she's in? If she's okay or not...?" Payal cried. "We've only just got our Khushi back... Our happiness... And you're taking her away already..."
"I can understand what you're going through, but I really can't tell you any details of the problem, the case, or anything to do with what has been going on for the past few months... Because if you knew those details it will put you under risk as well as Khushi, and I can't take that risk. So please bear with me. I can't tell you how long all this will last because I don't know - we are trying our best to sort out the issue as soon as possible, but I can promise you this. Until I am here I won't let anything happen to Khushi. I will protect her with my life and I will make sure that I hand her back to you safely."
"Haan jiji. When Arnavji is with me, nothing can happen to me. Don't worry about me," Khushi assured.
During all this, Buaji hadn't missed the way Khushi had been holding one of Arnav's hand while resting the other on his arm. She hadn't missed the way Khushi was standing extremely close to Arnav. And she definitely hadn't missed the way Arnav was holding Khushi's hand just as tightly as she was his.
Buaji didn't know what to think of this comfort level between her niece and this officer. She was sure that their relationship was more than what they were letting on, and she wasn't sure how she felt about it...
She knew her niece enough to know that she wouldn't just let any man be so close to her the way this officer was. So whatever this relationship was between these two definitely meant something.
But the question was, is this man worth her niece? Is he good enough for her? Was he even a good man? Buaji knew that her Khushi was innocent and she saw good in almost everyone - and she was just worried if Khushi had chosen the wrong person in her innocence... And the worst part was that Buaji didn't know this man and she wouldn't know where Khushi was either. She had no way of protecting her niece while she was away...
"Dekho Nandkisore. Hum seedhe seedhe poochute hain. Kaa chalraha hai tum dono ke beech ma? (Look. I'll ask you straight up. What is going on between the two of you?)" Buaji asked with a straight face, looking Arnav right in the eye.
Khushi's face suddenly burned up as she realised that she was still holding onto Arnav with both her hands boldly - and that too in front of her Buaji!!!
Khushi was about to withdraw both her hands but Arnav stopped her by tightening his hold on her hand and placing a hand on top of her own which was on his arm.
Arnav looked down at Khushi and their eyes met.
Bharosa hai mujpe? (Do you trust me?)' his eyes asked hers.
Hamesha, (Always)' her eyes replied.
Arnav softly blinked, silently telling her to let him handle this.
"Buaji," he started, and Buaji noticed the way he didn't address her as aunty' anymore. "I love your niece with all my heart and she loves me back. And I want to spend my whole life with her - only her. And as I said before, I promise you that I will look after Khushi with my everything - because she is my life now and I protect what is mine with my life," Arnav said confidently.
And every worry of Buaji's vanished into thin air. Not just because of his words, but because of the moment she had witnessed before that.
The moment where their eyes had talked for them, the moment where Arnav predicted Khushi's actions and acted accordingly, the moment when Buaji realised that these two were so attuned to each other that it couldn't be anything other than pure love. That eye conversation itself was an intimacy that could only be shared among two people who truly understood each other, and Buaji wasn't a fool to not realise this.
And what Arnav had told her afterwards had only cemented her belief, because in his eyes she saw the love he held for her niece as well as the determination to protect her. What else could an aunt want for her niece?
"Won't you both take my blessings?" Buaji asked, keeping a straight face.
Khushi looked up at Arnav before they both stepped forward and bent down to touch Buaji's feet.
"Khush raho nandkisore (May you be happy)" she blessed.
And when Arnav and Khushi straightened back up, despite Buaji trying to keep up her stern face, they both saw the smile itching to peek out of her lips and her eyes were twinkling with happiness.
"I am trusting you with my niece," Buaji spoke to Arnav. "And you better bring her back to me safely," Buaji warned.
Payal on the other hand, had recognised her sister's love immediately. She hadn't needed much assurance in the first place, because while she had been rejoicing seeing her sister after so long, she had taken notice of the man who was watching the scene with a small smile on his lips.
She had noticed the way his eyes were trained on Khushi only, and more than that, she had noticed the way his eyes shone with love as he watched the various emotions play about on Khushi's face. She had seen the way the happiness of Khushi's eyes were reflected in his own - and when Khushi's eyes had filled with tears, Arnav's eyes reflected that pain.
And that was enough for Payal to realise that this man, whoever he was, loved Khushi beyond limits. And Khushi was extremely lucky to have found a man like him.
"My sister is too innocent for this world. She sees the good in everything and everyone and can be easily taken advantage of. Please take care of her..." Payal said.
"I know Payal, I've learnt that much about her during the small amount of time I've known her. She doesn't realise the extent of cruelty that can go on in this world... But I promise that every danger that comes near Khushi will have to pass through me first. And I will never let the danger reach her ever - no matter what," Arnav promised, confidently.
Khushi watched on with pride seeing the way Arnav had handled Buaji and Payal so easily and confidently.
The man she loved was mingling with her family and slowly earning their trust - what else could any girl want?
"I'm sorry Buaji, Payal. I know you are getting to see Khushi after a long time, but I can't let her stay here any longer."
The moment his words were out, both Buaji's and Payal's face dropped.
"Please understand - it's too dangerous for her to be here for long. We don't know who might be lurking around here, and the longer we stay, the bigger the risk gets. Please bear with me for some time and soon I will return your Titaliya to you safely. Please?" Arnav requested politely.
"We don't want to take any risk with Khushi's safety either," replied Payal. "But can we please get one last hug before you go back?" Payal asked Khushi with tears in her eyes again.
"Is that even a question jiji?" Khushi asked, before she threw both her arms around her Buaji and jiji, hugging them both close to her as she cried with them.
"Okay you need to hurry now," Buaji said a few moments later as she pulled away.
She took hold of one of Khushi's hands and placed it in one of Arnav's before saying gently, "Go now."
Arnav simply nodded at Buaji and Payal before walking out of the door, taking Khushi along as Buaji and Payal watched them leave sadly.
Soon the couple hit the road, well on their way to Aman's house.
But some half an hour later, while Arnav was still driving, Khushi said suddenly, "Arnavji please stop the car."
"What happened Khushi?" he asked, worried.
"I said stop the car Arnavji," was all she said in reply.
(Continued in the next post)
Arnav immediately pulled over, "What's wrong Khushi?"
Without a word, Khushi got herself out of her seat and onto Arnav, so that she was now straddling him, and then started raining kisses on his face frantically.
Arnav's arms had automatically wrapped around Khushi's frame despite being taken aback with the sudden show of affection - not that he was complaining though. He just sat there relishing her love, letting her take full control of him as she kissed him to her heart's content.
And when she finally took his lips into a passionate kiss, he was a goner. He couldn't help but lose himself in the love she was giving him...
When she finally pulled apart minutes later, he asked breathlessly, "What was that for?"
"Thank you," she said just as breathlessly, leaning her forehead against his. "Thank you for taking me to see my family. I can't even express how happy I am right now Arnavji... I... How do you do it Arnavji? Do you have any idea how much I needed this? Of course you do - you always know what to do to make me happy... Sometimes I wonder what I've done to deserve you Arnavji... I just... Gosh I love you so much... So so much..."
Arnav smiled, feeling elated hearing her heartfelt thank you. He could conquer the whole world and lay it at her feet for this one smile of hers. "I love you too Khushi. More than you will ever know..." he whispered, placing a tender kiss on her cheek.
Before they could relish their moment any more, the shrill ring of Arnav's phone disturbed them.
"Must be Sheetal," Khushi muttered, feeling annoyed at being disturbed.
Arnav fished out his phone from his pocket and to his amusement, it was indeed Sheetal who was calling.
"We're on our way Sheetal," he said before Sheetal could even say hello on the other side.
Sheetal just replied, "Oh okay - see you guys soon then" and with that they both hung up.
Soon they were on the road again with Khushi back in her seat, when suddenly Arnav exclaimed, "Damn it!"
"What happened?!"
"Khushi we forgot to buy Sheetal a dress! Shall we quickly go and get it now before heading to their house?" asked Arnav, ready to change his route.
Khushi narrowed her eyes before saying, "No one is buying anything for anyone," she said sternly.
"But Khushi,"
"She wanted us to buy her something so that it could distract me right? Well I don't need the distraction because I am more than happy right now because you are next to me. Yesterday just feels like a mere nightmare - a figment of my imagination... And any sadness left in me vanished the second we met my family. So just tell her I don't need the distraction."
There was no space for arguments and her tone said that very clearly.
Arnav was The ASR, but when it came to Sheetal's matter, he knew better than to argue with Khushi.
This morning, he had told Khushi not to over-react when it came to Sheetal and he is still sticking with that decision. But somewhere inside, he knew that Khushi's reasoning for this denial of hers is valid from her point of view, and that's why he didn't argue with Khushi on this matter.
Somewhere between helping Khushi come out of the trauma' and getting her to go shopping to distract her, both Arnav and Khushi knew that Sheetal had her own selfish reasons for doing this.
Sheetal wanted to have a dress that was chosen by Arnav - or at least partly by Arnav. After all if both Arnav and Khushi went shopping, Arnav would of course participate in at least helping with choosing the colour, design etc. So this was Sheetal's opportunity to fulfil her desire to have a dress gifted' to her by Arnav. If she was really and truly only worried about Khushi, she could have asked Arnav to take Khushi shopping to select shirts for him, or even dresses for Khushi herself. But why for Sheetal?
These thoughts hadn't really occurred to Arnav yesterday, but when he slept over the matter, considering Khushi's words of not being able to trust Sheetal,' he realised that Sheetal might actually have her own selfish motive behind this caring act of hers.
But that didn't mean Arnav was against Sheetal now. He came to the conclusion that all this was only happening from Sheetal's side because she didn't know about his relationship status with Khushi. And how could she? They hardly even saw each other now, owing to the fact that Arnav and Khushi stayed in the penthouse all the time.
So he told Khushi about his thoughts on Sheetal this morning, also bringing up the fact that Sheetal didn't know about them.
So that's why he decided that today, when they go to Sheetal's house, he was going to talk to her alone and let her know about his and Khushi's love for each other.
When they finally reached Aman's house, there stood both Aman and Sheetal, waiting to welcome these two inside the house.
Sheetal was disappointed when she saw that both Arnav and Khushi's hands were empty, and this didn't go unnoticed by the couple.
"Umm Sheetal, the thing is both me and Khushi got up really late today so we didn't have time to go shopping - if we had then we wouldn't have reached here on time," Arnav started.
"Haan Sheetal Di, and anyways I'm perfectly fine now. I'm over everything that happened yesterday - I mean, Arnavji came at the right time to save me. And, I've come to realise that when he is here, I have nothing to be scared about because he will always come to save me. So what should I be worried about?" Khushi said cheerfully. "But thank you so much for caring about me Di - it means a lot to me," she said.
Sheetal just gave a fake smile before saying, "That's good Khushi - as long as you are happy, what else could we all want?"
Khushi didn't fail to notice the fakeness of that smile, which only made her opinion of Sheetal stronger. But she also didn't forget Arnav's words - give her a chance.
Soon they all sat down on the dining table and they had lunch peacefully - Sheetal didn't try any of her seducing tricks today to the relief of both Arnav and Khushi. Sheetal was too pissed to do any of that, so she just sat through lunch with everyone else, plastering a fake smile on her face.
Khushi really and truly tried during lunch to start a normal conversation with Sheetal, to try and remove that palpable tension between them.
Arnav didn't fail to notice her effort, and it made him feel happy as well as proud that Khushi was taking his words seriously and was trying to give Sheetal the chance that she deserved.
But Khushi's attempts were turning futile as Sheetal thwarted her efforts, giving very short answers and ending the conversation where possible, but still maintaining the politeness' in her tone.
This also didn't go unnoticed by Arnav, and that's when he decided that the talk couldn't be withheld any longer. The sooner he got it over with, the better for all of them.
As much as he wanted Khushi by his side when he told Sheetal about them, he didn't think it would help Sheetal to have Khushi next to him- it would only cause her more pain and he didn't want that. He still cared about her like a brother would for a sister, and he wanted to cause her as little pain as possible in this process.
When lunch was finally over, Arnav asked, "Sheetal, can I please talk to you for a few minutes?"
"Sure," Sheetal replied - and for the first time since they came, they saw a true smile bloom on Sheetal's face. "What is it?"
"Ummm..." Arnav for the first time looked nervously at Khushi, before continuing, "I need to speak to you... Alone..."
Khushi's eyes shot up at that, disbelief written over her face, while Sheetal sent a sly smirk her way.
Arnav's eyes pleaded with hers to understand him, to help him.
Khushi nodded ever so slightly, reluctantly giving in - she trusted him, but she still didn't like the fact that he chose to keep her away from this matter. And Arnav knew this too, but he was doing it for the best.
Arnav and Sheetal went upstairs towards one of the rooms, so that they could speak in private.
Aman was confused but he wasn't concerned otherwise, because he knew Arnav very well and he knew he had nothing to worry about. If Arnav wanted to talk to Sheetal in private, it must be important, he decided.
So while Arnav and Sheetal went upstairs, Aman and Khushi started talking, getting to know each other more. And it was funny because even after knowing each other for a few months now, the two had never really interacted that much. But now as they talked, they were finding that they actually could become pretty good friends at this rate.
As soon as Arnav and Sheetal entered the room, Sheetal made to close the door, but Arnav stopped her.
"It's okay Sheetal, no need. I just needed to talk to you about something and I thought it would be best to do it alone, that's all."
Sheetal felt a tad disappointed with that, because when he'd said he wanted to talk to her, she'd built up a few dreams herself of how she wanted these few minutes to go... Maybe he'd confess that he loved her? Maybe he would grab her and kiss the daylights out of her? Or maybe she could get the chance to seduce him?
But her hopes were dashed the second he told her not to close the door.
"Sheetal..." he started. "I've always admired you for the relationship you had with Aman - the way you care for him, the way you look after his every need, the way you support him almost like a mother."
Maybe I was wrong,' thought Sheetal. He is praising me so much and he just said he admires me!!! Maybe he is going to confess after all,' she thought gleefully. And then I can take my own time to explore that sexy body of his - gosh how would it feel to have him inside me?' she thought. Her mind conjured up so many erotic images of them in different positions, the mere thoughts almost making her wet with need...
"And I guess in these two years I've known you, I myself started considering you as my sister..."
And that was the moment her world came crashing down, shattering her dreams into pieces.
She felt like the ground beneath her had disappeared.
Sister.
Sister.
SISTER!!!!!!
That was the only thing that echoed in her ear.
The man she wanted considered her as his SISTER!!!
There was no insult that could be worse than this for her.
All this time she had imagined them being together in so many different ways, and when she finally thinks she is going to get him he decides to throw this bomb on her?!
Arnav was looking elsewhere the whole time he was talking, because he wasn't sure if he'd be able to continue if he saw the pain on her face.
He continued, "I... I n-never realised that you had developed feelings for me... If I had then... I would have definitely cleared things up before your feelings grew for me... I'm really sorry if I've ever acted in such a way that gave you hope... I've never had any feelings for you except what a brother feels for his sister... I'm so so sorry Sheetal."
"I only realised yesterday that you had feelings for me Sheetal, so I decided to clear things out with you..."
"But that's not the only reason, right Arnav?" Sheetal interjected.
"Meaning?"
"Meaning that there is another reason for you doing all this. A reason called Khushi," Sheetal said, her voice cracking at the last part.
And don't think Sheetal was crying because her heart was broken - she was crying because she felt humiliated and more than that, she was vexed that she couldn't get what she wanted. And that was Arnav.
And all this was because of a girl who had come yesterday: KHUSHI.
That bloody bit**,' she thought. This is all because of HER,' she thought. I won't let her get Arnav. He is MINE,' she decided at once. There is no way I'm letting that bit** win. Arnav will be mine in the end by hook or crook,' she thought.
When Sheetal first saw Arnav, she had purely fallen for Arnav's looks. But eventually his good heart, and the sense of mysteriousness around him made her like him and feel curious about him, and she mistook this curiosity as love.'
She herself didn't know when her liking turned into an obsession.
The more she saw him, the more she would admire him. And soon all her thoughts became revolved around him - or more like, all her thoughts became revolved around sleeping with him.
All she could think about day and night, was how it would feel when he touched her, kissed her, buried himself deep inside of her. Would he dominate her in bed? Would he make her scream his name all night? Would she get to hear him groan her name as she pleasured him?
These were the kinds of thoughts that always ran in her head - and soon all that was left in her for Arnav, was pure lust and obsession. Nothing more. Nothing less.
And when Khushi had come into the picture, Sheetal felt threatened and it all became a competition for her: Who would be the one to get Arnav?
And now as she saw how close she was to her defeat, angry tears ran down her cheeks.
Arnav on the other hand felt extremely bad, hearing Sheetal's words. After all, she was right - Khushi was the reason he was telling Sheetal all this. Heck, he wouldn't have even realised Sheetal's attraction if it hadn't been for Khushi!
But there was no point in hiding this fact from Sheetal - it would be better to clear all misunderstandings today once and for all. It would hurt her at first, but she would eventually move on knowing he can never think of her in that light.
"I'm sorry Sheetal... But you are right... I'm in love with Khushi - she makes me feel happy, and she makes me want to feel. Ever since I've met her, I've actually started living my life... And she makes me want to live happily - she makes me want it all... And if that's what you call love, then I'm madly and deeply in love with Khushi."
"I'm sorry for hurting you Sheetal, but I've just never looked at you as anything other than a sister... But you're a wonderful girl and I'm sure - in fact I know you will get a much better man than me. So don't waste your tears on me..."
Sheetal had felt like breaking something the second she heard the words love' and Khushi' in the same line. But she didn't show it on her face.
If she was going to get Arnav, then she was going to need tactics - and those tactics did not involve showing her hatred towards Khushi and his so called love.
"I..." she started, trying to controlling her tears and make an I'm so heart-broken' face. "I guess I always knew I didn't have a chance," she said, her voice cracking.
"Sheetal," he said, taking a step forward, his voice filled with pain for her. He just didn't know how to console her...
"I guess... Your love was never in my fate... It was always in Khushi's..." she sobbed, making Arnav take another two steps closer, hesitantly placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry Sheetal. I wish I'd known before - if I had, I never would have let your feelings get this far. And you wouldn't have been this hurt. But I guess it didn't work out that way... I've found the love of my life and I know that you will too soon enough, but for that you need to move on..."
"It hurts Arnav," she said, as she slumped onto his chest, crying her heart out.
Arnav made no move to hug her, but he also didn't push her away - he just let her get it all off her chest.
"I'm so sorry Sheetal. I'm so sorry. But Khushi and I owe our lives to you. Yesterday, if you hadn't been there to almost kick me out of the house and order me to go and find Khushi, maybe I wouldn't have found her on time... And... gosh I don't even want to think about the rest... You saved Khushi, Sheetal. Even though you knew somewhere that I liked Khushi, you still made sure that I saved her. And by saving Khushi, you saved me... This shows just much of a beautiful person you are, inside and out..."
By this time, Sheetal's sobs had quietened down, as she listened to him praise her.
"We both owe our lives to you Sheetal. Even though we've had some miscommunications between us, you will always be my sister. I know it will take time for you to get over all this, but I will wait for my sister. And then we will start fresh, okay? And meanwhile Khushi and I won't rest until we find the world's best man for this wonderful, selfless, beautiful woman in front of me..."
And with that he placed a tender kiss on her forehead. His lips had hardly even made contact with her skin, his lips were just hovering over her forehead in affection - in fact the kiss was almost not there. But that was enough to set Sheetal's body on fire, and set another woman's heart on fire.
Khushi had been wondering why they were taking so long and so she thought to check up on them.
She excused herself, telling Aman that she needed to go to the bathroom, and then went upstairs.
It's not that she didn't trust Arnav - she was genuinely confused as to why they were taking so long.
As she came upstairs she heard faint voices - one of Arnav's and one of Sheetal's.
The door seemed to be open too so she went closer, and when she was close enough the first thing she heard was, "this wonderful, selfless, beautiful woman in front of me."
And what she saw after that made her heart burn - not in jealousy, but in pain.
She saw her man - was he even hers in the first place? - almost pressed against another woman while he kissed her. It may only be on the forehead, but did that matter? No! Because he was kissing another woman, regardless of the location - and that too a woman, who was in love with him!
Tears pricked her eyes as her heart felt like it was being squeezed mercilessly. But she refused to let those tears escape her eyes. No. She wouldn't cry for him - she wouldn't cry for that man who had broken her trust without even caring for a second.
Just as Arnav started moving away from Sheetal, he felt a light breeze hit him in the face.
"Khushi," he whispered, sensing her presence around him.
He turned to the side, only to see Khushi standing there looking at him and Sheetal with a blank look on her face. The only thing giving away her pain was the sheen of tears, glistening in her eyes.
And that's when Arnav looked down to see his close proximity with Sheetal, and realised what Khushi must be thinking seeing this scene in front of her.
He looked back at Khushi, desperate for her to understand. "Khushi it's not what you're thinking. I swear!"
If Khushi had cried, or screamed at him, or even if she'd come and slapped him he wouldn't have worried.
But she just turned around and walked away, without a word.
"Khushi! Listen to me! Khushi stop!" Arnav called desperately as he ran after her.
But she didn't look back even once.
Meanwhile Sheetal stood exactly where Arnav had left her, smirking evilly, silently rejoicing that her plan had worked perfectly.
Aaand this is where I will stop today - finally I got that precap out of the way and I've written almost double what I normally write for an update.
