CHAPTER 1

A girl stepped out of a taxi and looked around. A smile automatically appeared on her lips. Another girl of about the same age stood beside her and said, "Ananya! Dekh tera sapna pura hone waala hai...ab kuch karke dikhaana hai." Ananya looked at her and said, "Di! Aapne mere liye bohot kuch kiya hai...ab meri baari hai." Both the girls hugged each other and Ananya went inside.

This was Ananya Rawat and her elder sister Shefali Rawat. They were standing in front of the Emerald Institute on Science and Technology. Ananya's parents died in an accident when she was just 12. Shefali raised her like a mother. They used to stay with their mother's sister till she got married. Shefali, being 5 year elder then Ananya took her responsibility and started working as a teacher. Ananya always wanted to become a mechanical engineer and today, she was going to become a part of the most reputed collage, that too, after getting first position in her state and a scholarship.

Ananya entered the building and was walking towards the hostel, when a boy came and took her bag from her hand. She was shocked and asked, "Excuse me! Aap ye kya kar rahe hain?" That boy smiled and said, "Ek larki aise saaman lekar mere saamne se jaye aur mainuski help na karun...ye mere usulon ke khilaaf hai...chaliye main aapko chor deta hun." Although Ananya didn't want anybody to help her but actually she had a lot of stuff so she didn't say no. Both of them started to move towards the hostel. The boy asked, "So? Apne man se aayi ho ya parents ka pressure?" Ananya gave him a confused look. He said, "Nahi matlab generally lakiyaan yahan apne man se nahi aati...bus isiliye pucha." Ananya nodded and said, "Mere mom dad ki death bohot phele car accident mein ho chuki hai...to main yahan apni marzi se aur apni behen ki vjha se aayi hun." The boy said, "Oh! Sorry...By the way, yahan ke bare mein kya jaanti ho?" Ananya thought for some time and suddenly asked, "Ye Akash Salluja kaun hai?" The boy looked at her from top to bottom and asked, "Tum Akash ke bare main kyun puch rahi ho? Kahin pasand vasand to nahi aa gaya?" Ananya said angrily, "Pasand my foot! Vo to bus jabse aai hun uske bare mein hi sun rahi hun. Vaise bhi mujhe ye ameer type ke larke nahi pasand. Kaam ke kuch hote nahi bus attitude dikhaana aata hai. Help jaisi cheezein to inki dictionary mein hoti hi nahi hai. Donation se admission lekar bante aise hain jaise pata nahi konsa pahaar khod liya ho." The boy smiled and said, "Lagta hai aapko koi dushmani hai Akash se." Ananya said, "Mujhe to usse milne se phele hi nafrat ho gayi hai." The boy stopped in front of her room and kept her bags there. Ananya thanked him and he said, "You are most welcome...vaise ek advice dena chahunga." Ananya asked, "Kya?" The boy said, "Itna judgemental nahi hona chahiye." Saying this he winked and went leaving a confused Ananya behind.

Ananya knocked at the door. A girl of about her age opened the door. Ananya smiled at her and said, "Hi! I am Ananya...your roommate." That girl stepped aside and said, "Of course! Aayiye miss topper...apna hi room samajhiye." Ananya stepped inside and looked around the room. Suddenly she saw something on the bed. Actually, not something but someone. Soon she realised that a man was sleeping on the bed. She was a bit taken aback. The girl saw her expressions and said, "Relax. Vo hamaare sath nahi rehene waala hai." Ananya looked at her and the girl went and said to the man, "Ravi uth! Meri roomie aayi hai...nikal bahaar." The man sat up on the bed and said in sleepy tone, "Kya khanak! Utha diya mujhe. Abhi main hamaare bache ko bus goad mein lene hi waala tha." Khanak laughed and said, "Ananya ignore him please!" In a few minutes Ravi got up and forwarded his hand to Ananya, "Hey topper! I am Ravi Desai...tumhari roommate Khanak Vyas ka boyfriend and future husband." Khanak fixed the bedsheet and said, "Hum teen saal se saath hain." Ananya smiled and said, "Thats sweet...by the way mera naam Ananya hai...topper nahi." Ravi laughed and said, "Chalo tum log baat shaat karo...main room mein jaa raha hun..Khanak pareshaan kare to bata dena...bye." He smiled and left.

Khanak and Ananya talked for a long time. Ananya told her how her sister worked hard for her dream. And how desperately she wanted to be a part of this collage. Khanak told her about her Ravi's relationship and her family. After everything, they both went downstairs to have lunch. They were about to enter the mess when a girl came from behind and said, "Hi Khannak! Tumhe pata hai, Akash ne mujhe kal lunch ke lie propose kia hai." Khanak rolled her eyes and smiled forcefully and said, "Oh! Thats a great news." Before she could say anything else, Khanak held Ananya's hand and took her in. They sat on the table and Ananya asked, "Vo kaun thi?" Khanak said, "Vo? Tanya Malhotra...Akash ki zabardasti ki girlfriend. I mean Akash uski itni bajaata hai...phir bhi uska picha nahi chorti." Ananya asked, "Ye Akash kis type ka larka hai? Jabse aayi hun sirf uski bare mein hi sun rahi hun? And jitna sunti hun utni hi nafrat ho rahi hai usse." Khanak smiled and said, "Akash ke dad ka auto mobiles ka business hai...and ek baar usse milogi na..i swear pyaar ho jayega tumhe usse." Ananya gave her a What the..' look. Khanak smiled and tapped her shoulder and went to get their lunch.

After having lunch, when they were coming out of the mess, they saw everybody running towards the ground. Khanak said, "Chalo aao, milwaati hun tumhe Akash se." Saying this, she dragged her towards the ground. When they reached their Ananya saw a beautiful stage and on it was a man standing with a mike and guitar.

Mohabbat ek jahaan hai

Ananya looked at him closely and was shocked to see the same boy who helped her with her luggage. She asked Khanak, "Ye Akash hai?" Khanak nodded and smiled. Ananya again looked at the boy.
