Prologue
The world felt cold and dark before she opened her eyes. When her eyes fluttered opened she almost wished the world would go back to being dark and cold; now the world was too bright and screeching with noises. Her head felt as if someone had hit her with a bat.
"Miss?" A man in a white coat called
"Where am I?" She rubbed her temple
"You're in the hospital." The man answered
"How did I get here? What happened to me?" She asked in confusion
"All I know is that you fell off a cliff."
"What?" She was confused about the answer he gave
"Let me give you a quick examination before we start the questions." The doctor said
He shined lights in her eyes, looked in her sinus cavities and checked her heart.
"Physically you looking good but I need to ask you a few questions."
She nodded her head urging him to go on
"What's your name, miss? You had no identification on you when you came in."
"K---, K... I'm sorry I can't. I don't know." Her eyes filled with tears
"Is there anything you remember?" He asked placing a comforting hand on her shoulder
She tried to think. She searched her mind to remember, but nothing happened. She kept drawling blanks.
"I'm sorry... I just can't remember." She cried
"That's ok! If you can't remember anything we should give you a name till you remember!"
She actually smiled at the idea
"Thank you." She said to the kind Doctor
"You said K-- when I asked so let's go through some K names."
"Kanitha?"
She shook her head
"Kanisa?"
Again she shook her head
"Kanushi?"
When said that name she gave him a huge smile.
"I like that name, it's pretty!" She grabbed his hand and squeezed as a gesture of thanks for giving her a name
"My pleasure Kanushi!" The doctor smiled at her
"My name is Dr. Siam so if you need anything call for me."
Three months went by and no one came to get her.
During those months Dr. Siam ate lunch with her everyday and the two became close. Kanushi began to see him as a father figure.
"Kanushi, I'm leaving for Thailand tomorrow."
"No, Dr. Siam you can't go!" She cried
"Kanushi, listen to me." He stroked her hair
"I have a daughter about your age and she's always wanted a sister. She wants to meet you, and my wife would love to have another child. So I guess what I'm asking is; Kanushi would you like to be part of my family?" He held his breath waiting for an answer
"You want to be my dad?" She smiled
"If you want me to." He said
"What should I call you?"
"In Thailand they call their fathers, Khun pa."
"Khun pa?" She had tears of joy in her eyes. Finally she had a family, people who wanted her!
"I have a friend in Thailand that specializes in memory, so we'll get you treatment there."
"Khun pa, thank you for wanting me to be your family." She embraced her new family member in a hug

Arnav sat at the computer looking at the new designs for the fall line. Really all he was thinking of was Khushi. He'd checked with every hospital and none of them had any record of her. He was frustrated and he couldn't believe that he'd lost her.
"Arnav?" Anjali called
"Are you ok?" Akash trailed behind her
"No, I'm not ok! I lost her!" He screamed
"I lost my wife!" He knocked everything off the table
"I lost her!" He cried
Anjali gathered her brother in her arms and comforted him the best she could. The only person who could console him wasn't here. They had no idea where Khushi was. Arnav wouldn't give up the search though, ever.
I'm sorry this part is kinda lame but i swear it will get much better when i write the next chapter!!!
