Chapter 5

Taani's pov

Every girl remembers their first crush.

The guy who made your day better just with one smile. The guy you had been thinking about him the whole day just because he said HI' to you. The guy who made your heart melt and make your knees feel weak.

For me; that guy was Aryan

He was sweet, he was funny, he was cute and nice.

Only he was nothing but a heartless player. One who like to play games with your heart.

I watched him to use same tactics to get every girl. The way he smoothly talk, his body language...the whole lot. One by one he'd win every girl and one by one they'd all lose.

And then he saw me.

But I already knew the rules to his game.

It was a basic concept; pull and push. It reminded me of physics.

Pull her in; make her fall for you; use her and then throw her away.

He flirted with me; I flirted with him. He stopped; I would stop. It was like I'm girl version of him.

And he wanted more.

So he did something no one had ever seen him doing; he asked me to be his girlfriend.

My thoughts were broken by Rey,

R : you okay?

T : I need to leave,

I stood up to run from his house. I needed sometime to be alone. But I never made two steps away. Rey grabbed my arm and turned my body around so our chest were pushed against each other. I felt a sensation which I have experienced when I was with Aryan. but along with some pleasant senses.

R : I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up any bad memories or hurt your feelings.

His eyes. God, the intensity was thrilling. They looked so serious and passionate.

Right now I couldn't say anything so I just nodded. A moment passed by.

Suddenly Rey's excitement reappeared, "Do you want to finish watching movie?"

I smiled thanking that he broke the ice. Then scowled in disgust,

T : hell no.

My room was directly opposite to his. His window right in front of mine.

I could see directly inside his bedroom. Hell, I could even get inside his bedroom by using the branch.

Who can design such a house? Don't they understand the meaning of privacy? And on the top of that an old couple used this room. Now I understood why Rey went to all the troubles to get them out.

Poor boy.

I woke up, feeling to go back to sleep again.

Today was the questioning day. I really wasn't looking forward for it.

At school our Princi's assistant was calling up names one by one.

I sat beside Shivam, who was looking a little nervous and tense. I put my hands over his.

Me : hey, you alright?

Shi : Yeah but have you seen everyone's face as they came out of the room?

I nodded. They all looked pale and sick.

Me : you have nothing to worry about Shivu; you're innocent.

Shi : yeah, right. He relaxed little. "Don't call me Shivu."

"Taani Shikhawat" the crowd turned to face me. I gave Shivam's hand one last squeeze before I walked up towards the door.

Halfway there, Rey came out of the room.

Our eyes got locked and then he smirked.

"Good luck Shikhawat." He said and moved.

"Where were you after the school Wednesday afternoon?" one of the officer asked me. Currently I was sitting uncomfortably on a wooden chair, as the three officr along with the princi were sitting on soft sofas.

Me : I went to library to finish off my homework.

Off : do you normally do your h.w. in library?

Me : no but I have just moved houses and I couldn't find my laptop so I went to library. I answered normally.

Off : What time did you leave the library?

Me : the same time it close- around six.

Off : did anyone see you leaving?

This is were I started feeling sick.

Me : Yes, the librarian.

The officers exchanged glances. When I heard my princi speaking,

"Ms. Shikhawat is one of our most outstanding academic achievers; I believe that this questioning session won't lead us anywhere." My princi remarked. I literally wanted toi jump and hug her. But that would really look weird.

"Well then Ms. Shikhawat you may return to your class." One of the officer said.

I immediately walked out before they change their minds.

I had English class.

It was the same teacher who send me to detention room. So I straight away went to detention room as I wasn't interested in her class.

"Little girl! We missed you." Swayam greeted me as I shut the door behind me. I passed the unconscious teacher-in-charge and sat in one of the seat in front of them.

Vic : so what happened in the questioning round?

I still don't think he trust me. Some part of him keeps doubting I wouldn't tell. So I kept a serious expression.

Me : They figured out I was lying. I got scared and told them it was you five. They will be coming any minute to arrest you guys for destroying school property.

Again this was another picture moment to be taken.

Rey did not look least interested.

Swayam looked taken aback, like he actually believed he was going to get arrested.

The other two... happy? But y? did they want to get expelled?

And Vicky.. aww poor Vicky looked like he was going to cry any moment.

I was controlling myself from laughing at heir faces. They look so funny.

Rey hit Vicky at the back of his head, making him wince in pain.

R : She is just kidding guys, honestly man grow up.

I couldn't help but laugh out holding my tummy and put my hands on mouth not making any noice.

Sw : That wasn't funny Taani.

Both Nilesh and Aman looked disappointed. That made me laugh harder.

Me : yes it is really funny.

I was having my sandwich with my friends and listened to them talking about the questioning

Shi : God they sked me 23 Q.! 23!

Char : I felt like I was going to faint.

Sha : I felt like freaking Law and Order.

Me : for me it was alright.

They all looked at me like I was crazy

I said, "I mean...it..was..bad."

Just then Rey entered the cafeteria and headed towards his seat. On the way he did one of theose cute boyish head nod towards me.

Honestly I kind of forgot to breathe.

Suddenly Charlie spoke in astonishment - OH MY GOD!! That was for you, wasn't it?

Rey gave you whats-up' nod to you, didn't he?

Me : May be

Cha : is there something going on between you two?

Beside me, Shivam tensed a little.

Me : What? No! are you kidding me? He's just my neighbor.

Cha : Oh my God! Rey is your freaking neighbor?! You lucky little bi-

Sharon cut her off,

"You've a boyfriend." But I would be definitely coming at your place. Shje continued looking at me.

I was in my room replying some text.

I sat up and noticed the room across mine. Rey was asleep. He looked so peaceful and innocent in sleep. It look like his bad boy never exist.

But right before I decided to sleep, I noticed something shining in Rey's room as the moonlight hit its surface.

It was my diary.

My heart began to drum against my chest, my breath - not so regular. My diary was right beside his bed, right next to his head.

If it was anything else I wouldn't have really cared. But it was way too different.

This has to do with my past.

Everything I know, everything I've discovered... they are all written on a page hidden in my diary.

And I was going to get it back.

As I carefully opened the window the cold wind made me shiver.
