The LAST Chapter
The cadets come back to the camp site following Shalini, who had been fuming with anger. How could Bhargav do such a thing? Taking untrained to hideouts of Spies was not ok. They weren't trained face spies yet. Plus, he didn't even get superiors permission.
Upon reaching the campsite, she ordered the cadets to go freshen up and she went to have a little chat with Bhargav.
-----In Bhargav's tent-----
Shalini: "What was all this, Col Bhargav?"
Bhargav: "Dr. Shalini, as far as I remember, mein ne permission nahi di hai, app ko mujh se sawal jawav karna ka..." (Dr. Shalini as far as I remember, I haven't given you permission to question me.)
Shalini: "Aur mujhe app ki permission ki jarurat bhi nahi hai, kyu ki aab aap meray senior nahi rahay, balki hum ek hi position pe hai." (And I don't need your permission because you are no longer my senior, in fact we are the ranking now)
Bhargav: "DR. SHALINI"
Shalini: "Aawaz neechay. Pechle baar jab aap ne Mentorship camp organize kiya tha, tab kya hua hum mein se koi nahi bhula hai, marag iss baar aaisa kuch nahi hoga. Aap ne jo aaj kiya us ki koi jarurat nahi thi. Soch kya rahay thay aap, In cadets ko uss wakt waha lee jahay ki koi jarurat nahi thi. Thank god uss wakt waha koi nahi tha. Agar woh waha hota aur uss kay cadets ko kuch kar diya hota to...kuch socha tha?" (Keep your voice down. No one has forgotten what happened the last time you organized a mentorship camp, but this time nothing like that will happen. There was no need for you to do what you did today. What were you thinking? There was no need to take these cadets there at that time. Thank god there was no one in that hut. If some had been there and attacked the cadets then...have you thought about that?)
Bhargav: "Dr. Shalini, yeah Indian army kay honay walay officers hai. In hay aaisi situation se deal kaarna aana chaea. (Dr. Shalin, they are the future officers of the Indian army. They should know how to deal with these situation)

Aur hai, yeah mat socah na ki you can get away with what you did today. Abhimanyu will be notified of everything" (Exctaly, they are future officers. They haven't even completed their 1st year of training and you want that all of them behave like experienced officers. And don't think that you can get away with what you did today. Abhimanyu will be notified of everything)
Shaad send the rest of the day wanting to talk to Asha to figure out what exactly was happening, but he never got the chance as one person or another was always with him. He didn't want to tell his friends to leave him alone so he could talk to Asha alone, but he knew this would be followed by uncontrolled teasing. So he waited patiently.
The sun had started to set and the mentor-cadet pair started cleaning up their tents and packing up. They arrive back at KMA that evening just in time for dinner. While all the cadets sat and ate their dinner, Shaad motioned Asha to following him outside.
Shaad abruptly stood u saying he was done eating and headed out. A couple of minutes later Asha pretended to do the same.
------Asha and Shaad on the field------
Shaad: "Asha, yeah sab kya ho raha hai. Aap ne kaha ki Rajveer sir whai hai, magaar waha toh koi nahi tha" (Asha, what is going one. You said that Rajveer sir was there, but he wasn't)
Asha: "Bohot lambhi kahani hai. Lights out kay baad Alekh sir kay kamray mein aa jaana, saab saamaj aa jhaea ga. (It is a long story. Come to Alekh sir's room after lights out and you will understand)
------------Faculty meeting--------
Abhimanyu: "Officers, welcome back. I hope this mentorship came was a learning camp for the cadets." (He looked directly at Bhargav) "Mujhe pata chala hai ki kuch logo ne protocol thoda hai aur iss kay baray mein mujhe full report chahiye. (Officers, welcome back. I hope this mentorship came was a learning camp for the cadets. (He looked directly at Bhargav) I have found out that someone has broken protocol and I want a full report on that)
Shalini: "Sir, it will be on your desk by tomorrow"
Abhimanyu: Good. Ek aur baat, jab aap log camp pe that tab suriji ki tabieet kuch kharab ho gayi, iss liya unhone 2 hafto ka chutti li hai" (Good. Oone more thing, when you all were at camp, Suriji got a little sick so he had taken 2 weeks break.)
Huda: "Sir, woh theek hai na" (Sir is he ok?)
Abhimanyu: "Absolutely, he just needs some rest. And we will have a substitute for him while he is..."
Before Abhimanyu could finish someone opened the door. Standing there was a middle aged man. He had beard covering his face and had long hair. He walked inside the room and closed the door.
Abhimanyu: "perfect timing, hum aap hi ki baat kar rahy thay. Yeah hai Veer, aaj se do hafo tak yeah mess ho handel karragay" (Perfect timing, I was just taking about you. This is veer, and for two weeks he will be in charge of the mess)
Huda: Welcome to KMA
That man looked towards Alekh and gave a small wink and Alekh couldn't stop the small smile that came into his face. This exchange didn't go unnoticed by Huda.
Abhimanyu: "All right, now I want to hear all of your latest progress with your cadets"
-----------Later that night--------
After the lights went out, Asha got up from her bed.
Ridhi: "Asha, tu kaha chali. Lights out ho gayi hai" (Asha, where are you going. The lights have turned off)
Asha: "Bas kuch kaam hai" (I have some work)
Ridhi: "Aaray mager"
Prerna: "Tu jhaa, agar Lolita ma'am aa gayi to hum cover kar lengay" (You go, if Lolita ma'am comes then we will cove)
---------In Alekh's Room------
There was a small know on Alekh's door and he went to open it, to find Huda standing there.
Alekh: "Jaldi aandar aa jaa. Agar Mogambo ya MC ne dekh lengay to locha ho jhaea ga. (Ccome in. If that Mogambo or MC sees us, then there will be a problem.)
Huda without any questions slid in and waited for Alekh to close the door.
Huda: "Quidi, yeah sab kya hai, Tu ne mujhe yaha kyu buliya." (Quidi, what is all this. Why did you call me here?)
Alekh: "Thoda sabra rakh." (Have Patience)
After about 3 mins there was another knock. This time it was Asha, Abhimanyu and Veer standing at the door.
Huda: "Asha, Abhimanyu sir, Veer, aap sab yaha kya kar rahy hai" (Asha, Abhimanyu sir, Veer, what are you all doing here.)
Asha: "Sir aap ko sharm nahi aati, aapne mentor ko naam se bulatay huya." (Sir aren't you ashamed of calling your mentor by his name)
Huda: "Mentor!"
Veer: "Yes Cadet Huda, Mentor"
Saying this the men slowly started to take off his fake beard, and much to Huda's surprise his mentor, his Rajveer sir was standing in front of him. Though he looked much different, much older and not just in sense of age. He looked as if he was tired. Tired of waiting, tired of wanting, tired of being patient, tired of longing. Yet his eyes held a kind of spark---a spark filled with confidence, determination and Pride.
Huda, unable to believe his eyes looked at Alekh who just gave a slight nod and his one nod was enough for Huda to break down as he hugged his mentor, teacher, inspiration and friend.
Rajveer also couldn't hold back the tears that rolled down his eyes. After a while he detached Huda from him and held on to his shoulders and looked at him with such pride.
Rajveer: "Bas Huda."
Huda wiping his tear: "Sir aap, kaisay...Quidi"
Rajveer: "Bohot lambhi khani hai, agar sab yahi hai toh kya suru karay" (It's a long story, if eyeryone is here then we can start)
Asha: "Papa woh accutally"
Rajveer: "Kyu koi aur aana wala hai kya...?" (Why is someone else coming?)
Before Asha could answer someone, once again, knocked the door and Asha went to open it. It was Shaad standing there with a worried look.
Shaad: "Asha aap ne hum mein yaha kyu buliya? Sab theek hai..." (Asha, why did you call me here? Is everything...)
Shaad could not finish because he saw a man standing inside. The man he thought he would never see in his life. The man his ammi and abbu respects the most. The man that Shaad Rajveer Ali Beig was named after. The man that he aspired to be. The man,
Without his control, Shaad's leg automatically started moving toward Rajveer.
Rajveer: "Shaad...Ali and Pooja's son...Correct?"
All Rajveer could do was to pull the young man into his arms and embrace him. Rajveer was reminded of the time when he had hugged all of his cadets one last time and a lone tear dropped from his face. Shaad was also crying and everyone in the room had tears in their eyes.
Asha: "Ab bohot hua. Bohot rooh liya hum sab. Aap ne hissay se bhi zyada hum ne aasu bahaya. Aab aur nahi. Aab hum se se koi nahi roga. Agar aab koi roaga to woh log" (Enough is enough. We have all cries a lot. We have cried more than our fair share. Now no more. Now none of us wll cry. If eanyone will cry then it will be them)
Everyone in the room gives a small room in agreement.
Shaad: "Rajveer sir magr aap yaha kya kar rahay hain. Asha ne toh kaha tha ki aap jungle mein thay" (But sir, how are you here. Asha told me that you were at the jungle)
Rajveer gives a knowing look to Alekh and Alkeh gives a nod. A warm smile fills Rajveer's face as he puts his hands on Shaad shoulders and led him to the couch.
What everyone fails to notice is the blush that appears on Asha's face after she witnessed the exchange between Rajveer and Alekh.
After everyone settles down and starts Rajveer narrating his story from the day he died' in the jeep Crash.
Rajveer: "Us din jeep mein aag lagne se pehle hi mein waha se kudh chukka tha. Siyad blast ki impact ka vhaja se mein bihosh ho gaya. Jab hosh aaya to mein ne aap ne aap ko ek bed par paya, Lucknow mein. Kuch wakt baad waha kuch logo aaya. Un no ne mujha batiya ki woh army ki secret assassin hai. Woh log pura ka pura janawar hai. Un ki paas dil hi nahi hai. Un no ne mujha batiya ki mujhe aab un logo ka liya kaam karna padaga ku ki un logo ne meri jaan bachiya hai. Main ne saaf saaf na kaar diya, magar unlogo ne kaha ki jab tak mein puri tara se recover nahi kar layta, woh log mera dekh bhal karangay. Kuch hafta baad mein theek ho gaya. Mein waha se nikalne hi wala tha jab un logo ne mujha kuch photos dekhiya. Woh photos tum sab kit hi. Tum sab ki har kadam ki photos thi, phir un sab ne mujha dhamkiya ki aagar mein un ka liya kaam nahi kiya toh woh tum saab ko jaan se maar...Woh log mujhe missions par bhej ne laga. Haar mission ek hi tarah ka hota hai...kisi ki jaan lena, magar mujha un no ne khabi bhi koi galab kaam ka liya nahi bola. Haar jis ko mujhe maar na tha, who sab corrupted tha. Corrupt ministers, corrupt officers."
Rajveer looked around the room to see that everyone had become emotional. Asha placed her hand on top of Rajveer and nodded her head for him to continue.
Rrajveer: "Phir mujhe pata chala ki Naina ne meri aur Navin ki case reopen kar diya hai. Mujha pata chala ki Naina ne meri aur Navin ki case reopen kar diya hai, aur mein ne Decide kiya ki mein is mein Naina ki madat karunga. Mein usko chitti bhej ne laga. Lala kay baray mein, Red box kar baray mein. magar yeah baat un logo ko pata chal gaya aur un logo ne mujhe ek aisa mission par bhej diya jo bohot hi completed tha.Mission complete karne mein 1 saal lag gayay. Jab wapas aaya toh pata chala ki Naina ne aapne aap ko isolate kar diya hai. Uus ki yeah halat dekhi nahi gayi aur mein ne ussko ek aur chitti lekhi. Mein ne Nnaina ko mujh se milne kay liya Mumbai buliya. Aur woh chali aayi. Hum do bohot hi khush thay. Mar shaad bhagwan hi nahi chatay thay ki Raj-Naina khabi ek ho. Un logo ko phir se sasb kuch pata chal gaya aur iss baar mujhe ek aaisa mission par bheja ki uss mission se lauta almost impossible tha"
Rajveer paused to wipe his tears as fresh memories fille his mind.
Huda: "hir kya hua"
Rajveer: "Mujhe 5 saal lag gaya uss mission ko comple karne kay liya. Jjab mission complete hua to mein ne aaisa situstion banaya ki mein un logo ko laga ki mein maar gaya. Finally mein uss daldal se nikal gaya. Jab mein lota toh pat achala ki Naina pregnent thi. Uss kay saath job hi hua mujhe pat achala. Jab mujhe Naina kay saath khada rehana cha hi a tha, tab mein us kay saath nahi tha.
Huda: "Tab tak toh aa ki begunahi sabit ho chuki thi. Agar aap chati toh dhunia kay saam ne aa shaktay that"
Rajveer: "Hain, aa Shakta tha magar mein ne khud se vada kia hai ki jab tak mein Naina ne naam clear nahi kar leta, aur jab tak mein un sab logo ko jail nai pocha deta mein aapni vardi nahi choounga. Mujha pata chala ki Naina Shimla mein hai. Shimla pooch ne mein mujhe pata chala ki Bhargav ne Naina ko waha bhi jeenay nahi diya, aur kisi ko pata nahi tha ki Naina kaha hai."
Alekh noticed that Rajveer was breaking down and knew that he would no longer be able to continue.
Alekh: "Kuch saal baad aapun ko traffing ki khooj karne jungle bheeja gaya. Waha aapun Rajveer sir se milay. Un ko aapun ne bataya ki Naina aur Asha Mumbai mein hai. Magar uss wakt mujhe bhi pata nahi tha ki Naina hospital mein hai."
Everyone in the room had tears in their eyes. Huda and Abhimanyu were trying to controlled themselves but were losing the battel.
Shaad: "Magar aap jungle se yaha kaisay..."
Rajveer: "Sab Asha ki planning thi. Us ne plan banaya ki hum suriji aur Chuhan saab ko sab sach bata dengay aur suriji se request karangay ki ko kuch din ki chutti lay aur Chuhan Suriji kay badlay mujhe rakh le. Iss bahane mein KMA mein reah kar investigation kar shaktay hai. (It was all Asha'a plan. She made a plan that we will tell the truth to Suriji and Chuhan Saan and request suriji to take leave so Chuhan could hire me. This way I can investigate in KMA)
Huda: "Kamal hai, chera maa ka hai par deemag papa ka paya hai"
This statement brought a smile to everyone's face.
Asha: "All this senti-stuff is fine, but should we should get working. Shaad did you bring the files I asked you to bring"
Shaad took out three files.
Shaad: "Yeah teen cases files hai. Ek Naina massi ki, ek file Rajveer sir ki first case ki hai and tisre file unki re-opened case ki hai"
Asha: "Mein ne aur Shaad ne in files ko aacha tarah se study kiya hai aur in teeno files mein 2 cheez common hai. Bhargav aur Nair.
Abhimanyu took out the file he was holding.
Abhimanyu with a smile: "Aur yeah Bbhargav aur MC ka file hai jo hum ne headquarters se bina kise se poochay borrow kiya hai"
Huda, Alekh, Rajveer, Abhimanyu, Shaad and Asha spend that night looking for something that aide aid them.
--------12:30 AM-------
Asha: "Itna proof khafi hai, Nair aur Bhargav ka un assassin group se connect karne kay liya." (These proofs are enough to prove Bhargav and Nair's connection with the assassin group)
Rrajveer: "Nahi Abhilasha, we need more"
Alekh: "Aap chinta mat karo, mein ne un dono kay kamray mein bugs fit kar liya hai. Jaada deer tak choop nahi shaktay." (You don't worry, I have fits bugs in both of their rooms. They won't be able to hide for long.)
Abhimanyu: "Allright. I think this is enough for one night. We have to get some slee"
With that everyone parted their ways and before leaving, Shaad gave a small smile to Asha as if to assure her that everything will be all right. Asha, unable to control herself, blushed a little. This obviously did not go unnoticed by the four officers present there.
---------Next morning----
All cadets stood in attention as Abhimanyu made his way to the podium to make an announcement.
Abhimanyu: "At ease Cadets. Like all of you know your midterms are coming and this year we have decided that the cadets who pass will get 3 weeks break, and the cadets who don't perform as well will stay back in the academy for 2 weeks and try to redeem themselves and can go to break for a week. Dismiss.
There was a buzz of excited cadets taking about what they are going to do for 3 weeks.
After that the week was kind of scheduled.
Asha would wake up, attend classes, and study for the exams and in the night stay awake with Rajveer, Alekh, Huda, Abhimanyu and Shaad, looking through files and listening to the recording of their 2 suspects.
Finally their test day arrived. Most of the Cadets passed with flying colors and were granted 3 weeks break. That same night another important event happed.
The six were sitting in Alekh's room. It was quiet late, past midnight.
Abhimanyu: "I think this is it guys. Hum mein lagta hai itna sabot kafi hai Nair aur Bhargav ko saga dilwa ne kay liya. (I think this is it guys. I think these are enough proofs to punish Nair and Bhargav)
Rajveer: "Mujhe bhi aaisa hi lagta hai"
Abhimanyu: "Toh phir theek hai, kal hum aur Rajveer yeah files lee kar headquarters jaaeegay." (Ok than. Tomorrow, Rajveer and I will take these files to the headquarters.
Everyone in the room had a look of relief because they knew after so many years happiness was about to return to their life.
The next day everyone noticed how distant Asha looked. It was as if so much was going through her head, but none of her friends, except Shaad, knew what was wrong.
Asha was standing near the wall of fame with a Picture of Naina and Rajveer in her hands. Shaad came and stood next to her.
Shaad: "Kya soch rahi ho" (What are you thinking)
Asha: "Kya yeah sab sach hai Shaad. Peachle inti sallo se jo mein se chaha woh aaj pura ho raha hai aur ek ek khaawb se lag raha hai. Daar lag raha hai ki kahai mein is need se jaag na jhau aur yeah kwaab took na shakay" (Is this all true Shaad? What I have wanted for the past years is coming true and it all feel like a dream. I am scared that I will wake up and this dream will shatter)
Shaad: "Tum aaisa kyu soch rahi hoon? Yeah sach hai Asha. Khushiya lot rahi hai..." (What are you thinking such things? This is all happening for real Asha. Our happiness is returning)
Before Shaad could finish he saw Abhimanyu and Veer' walking toward the academy with a group of army officials following them. Shaad laced his hands on Asha's shoulders and pointed towards the entrance.
At the exact same time the rest of the cadets along with Shalini, Raghu, and Priyanka came out from the other side of the academy.
The group of officials headed straight towards Bhargav and Nair who happen to be talking, or rather yelling, at a few cadets who managed to fail the midterms.
Official: "Colonel Bhargav and Colonel Nair you are under arrest"
Both of them had a look of shock on their faces but tried to look composed.
Bhargav: "Kya mein jaan Shakta hoo kyu"
Rajveer as veer': Desh ki defence syatem ko cheat karne ka liya, investigations mein cherd khani karna kay liya, aur bhi bohot kuch hai. Batau kya" (For cheating the country's defence system, for poking holes in investigation and much more. Should I tell everything now)
Nair: "Tumari himmat kaisay hui, ek mess in charge ho kar aaisay baar karne ki." (How dare you, a mess in charge, talk to us like this?)
By now the whole academy was there to witness the scene and Shaad and Asha had moved next to Rajveer.
Asha: "Bolne se pehlay yeah toh jaan lejeea kay kis se baat kar rahay hai." (Know who you are talking to before you talk to them)
Nair: "Matlab"
In order to answer Nair, Rajveer began to take off his beard and a look of pure horror and fear crossed the eyes of Nair and Bhargav. The people in the hall gasped and began to whisper about that they just witnessed.
Bhargav: "Capt...Raj...Rajvee..r"
Asha with Pride: "Yes, Capt. Rajveer Singh Shekhawat, meray Papa. Woh Capt. Rajveer jin ko tum sab ne bohot baar marne ki kosish ki, magar khabi kamibab nahi huia." (Yes, Capt. Rajveer Singh Shekhawat, my Papa. The Capt. Rajveer, whome you tried to kill many time but never succeeded.)
Abhimanyu: "Lee jaa ea in hai yaha se" (Take them from here.)
With that the two were handcuffed and left without a fight because they both knew that Rajveer had his support system back in form in his daughter and nothing would stop those duos.
After the two were out of sight, Asha hugged Rajveer and the father-daughter cried in each other arms as their pain flooded away as tears.
Prerna: "Asha, yeah sab..."
Asha broke from the hug, wiped her tears and said with a smile: "Everyone meet my papa"
This was received by a round of smiles.
Before anyone could say anything else, an orderly came and informed Asha she had a phone call.
While Asha attended the phone class Raj got to know everyone. Though he had heard plenty about the kids from Alekh, today was the first day her was meeting them as Rajveer.
When Asha came back he has an unusual glow to her. There was sparkle in her eyes and a grin that covered her face.
Priyanka: "Kya hua, sab theek hai na"
Asha: "Di, hospital ka phone tha"
Hearing hospital, everyone turned their attention to Asha.
Priyanka: Kya hua sab theek hai na...maa..."
Asha held Pri's hand: "Di, Papa, Maa ko Hosh aa gaya"

Hey y'all sorry for the long delay. My schedule got very hectic. But hope you ENJOYED the last chapter of the book. Ii know it was all of a sudden and really jumbled together, but I knew that if I didn't finish today than I would never get around to finish this book as my schedule is unfortunately starting to get even more hectic. I am sorry to those who didn't expect just a hurried ending to the book. Hopefully I can make up for it with the epilogue that I will try to post within a month's time.
