A friend of mine who graduated recently too said the same. For us Indians, graduation ceremonies are nothing great. For some, it is THE thing. To celebrate what they did and to encourage them to return.

It is only when you see and hear such things that you realise what a cushy life we have, right? The world indeed has a lot of amazing people.

Sorry was off attending a high school graduation of two of my teenagers' best friends. MY FIRST EVER HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION

I would ofetn smirk and snigger in a very arrogant way about WHY such a tamasha is needed for a high school milestone. Today I realized more then 60% will never see the insides of a college. TODAY WAS IT for them
Honest, decent, hard working kids that will never be able to afford college due to the punitive costs. Its a terrible tragedy.

On the whole it was a fabulous ceremony, two kids spoke the first one spoke about his inspiration his older sister who also went to the school, and how his sister graduated high school went on to get a elementary ed degree from Utah, married a student who was getting his Accounting degree, and how she supported him by working when he went on to do his Masters and and law together

She had two boys, and at the age of 22 was diagnosed with a rare form of lympho sarcoma, returned to the city continued to volunteer for her favorite high school until last year helped the girls dress up for prom by having them come over to her house, got 5 rounds of chemo a week some times, only to to succumb end of last year, at the age of 24 leaving behind two toddlers😭

The boy broke down and cried, and said "We dont know how much time we have left, must all do good"😭SUCH A FABULOUS HEAD ON SUCH YOUNG SHOULDERS I THOUGHT

I bawled my head off (Hershey wouldn't appreciate it I know😭)

And then at the end when I realized for most of the kids, this is it

I cried again

The high school is not like the Thomas Jefferson High at Langley Virginia which is like the MIT of high schools. Its in a blue collar neighborhood. Its considered to be a FANTASTIC school... I have no regrest sending my teenager there.

On the whole a fabulous evening👏👏

One more reason why i just adore coming back to SoSy is the way you share immediately what moves you...yes we all are unaware how much time we have left and a kid to share that and the reason ...very moving...makes the listener and readers want to emulate such work...these are the real life heroes not ones that don a role...play a sport or lead an organisation...it is such remarkable humanbeings who with their heart full of care and compassion make a difference to others who need a standing ovation...thanks for the share Nisha...fabulous reading

And about the Hardy Boys!! Shudder. Now I will always view such stories with suspicion!! 😊

And the mansions list. The only thing that struck me: the books with a ladder like the one R&B showed II in Paris. And a view of the neighbor's balcony from their window.

Graduation ceremony did not excite me

But telling people my majors did!!

I dnt know why.. Birtdays, annivedsaries, parties... These dont excite me at al

I get ready to impress myself. I do that very rarely

As far as prejudice is concerned I just hate it I have friends who are Muslims so many at times they have stood by me and supported me stronger than any hindu would do.

We get many things easily. We are excited only about things that we worked really hard for. That's why fruits of hard work are sweet, they say 😊 Aaj subah ka gyaan 😆
