Sorry couldn't update earlier as I had many reasons and don't wanna waste time typing them.😛

As I had mentioned earlier, Sanjeevani is for a reason😉 and, oh well, read the note at the end as well.😆

Part 38

The surgery started. Niki was anxiously waiting outside the OT door for the bulb to go off. Rey was constantly by her side. Later he was called to finish the details of the form. Sharon and Taani then went beside Niki and stopped her from sulking. The bulb turned off and doctor came out. His mask was still on.

Dr. Armaan: Bone heal kar diya hai. Patient ko ward mein shift karne ke baad app mil sakte ho.

He excused himself. Shivam was taken to the general ward. Rey came to them and informed that he had to go out to get some medicines. The ward was quite empty with very few patients so the team eased around Shivam and was chitchatting. A female doctor came to examine Shivam and also to inform the schedule of his medicines. She was pulled by a gang of doctors.

Dr. Muskaan: Ritzi, Armaan surgery ke baad nikal gaya hai aur abh tak nahi lauta. Dr. Kirti abhi rounds pe aati hogi, uske saath saath humari bhi band baja degi.🤢

Dr. Riddhima: Armaan ko toh abh tak aa jana chahiye tha. Mein check karti hoon, tum sab yahan sambhalo.😕

Vicky: Kiske saath flirt kar rahe the ki Niki ne tumhari taang tod di?😆

Niki: Shutup Vicky!😡

Shivam: It was just a small accident. Tum sab yahan kyu ruke ho? College?

Rinni: College toh kabka band hogaya.

Shivam: Rinni, what I meant was, since we had decided to sincerely attend lectures aur abhi next day hi bunk kar rahe ho tum sab

Nil (dramatically): Abhi friend ki aisi halath hogi toh classes kaun attend karega?😛

Shivam: Yeah right! Tum sab yahan meri wajah se nahi ho tum sabko bunk karneka reason mila isiliye yahan ho.

Simmi: Humne kab kaha ki hum tumhari wajah se yahan ruke hai. Hum toh bus Niki ke liye yahan hai, right Niki?😉

Niki: Guys yaar, tum sab aisa kyun behave karte ho Shivam ke saath?

Taani: Niki relax, they are just joking.😊

Shivam: Niki?

Niki: I'm good.🤢

Suddenly Dr. Riddhima landed up beside them with Rey, who was wearing a lab coat and a stethoscope was hanging around his neck. The team was eyeing him from top to bottom while he just gestured them to be quiet for the moment.

Dr. Kirti: Dr. Riddhima! Aapki duty toh Path Lab mein thi na?😳

Dr. Riddhima: Haan voh actually voh.. haan.. actually meine Dr. Armaan ko galati se wrong injection bottle de di thi so yahan correct wali dene aayi thi. Haan isiliye yahan pe hoon mein.

She handed over an injection bottle and a syringe in Rey hand.

Dr. Riddhima: Injection de dena.

Rey (smirking): Sure!😈

He then looked at Shivam and then at the syringe in his hand and gave an evil grin to him. The others tried hard to control their laughter on seeing Shivam's horrified face.

Dr. Kirti: Dr. Armaan aapko ek injection dene mein itna time kyu lag raha hai?😳

She was approaching them when her pager rang and she left. The doctors and also Shivam had a sigh of relief while the rest of the gang burst out laughing.🤣

Riddhima (To Rey): Thanks. Tumne humari jaan bachadi.

She took the injection from his hand and gave it to Shivam.

Swayam: Rey tum yahan aise?😕

Dr. Rahul: Ye tumhe kahan mila Riddhima?

Riddhima: I'll explain. Mein jab bahar gayi tab dekha ki Dr. Kirti yahan aa rahi hai rounds ke liye. And then I spotted him jo peeche se thoda bohot Armaan jaisa dikhta hai.

Rey: Yeah and then she asked nahi 'ordered' me to wear this (pointing at the lab coat) and come with her.

Riddhima: Sorry. But at least hum bach gaye.

Shivam: Aur mujhe almost upar pahucha diya. Ek non-doctor ke haath mein injection, vo aur koi nahi but Rey! Mujhe toh laga ki Rey aaj uske saare badle leke rahega mujhse.

They all burst out in another round of laughter.🤣

Riddhima: You guys carry on, mein Armaan ko dekh ke aati hoon. I'll send him here to check you.

Sharon: Rey, that was fun!😆

Taani: Absolutely!😆

Shivam: No it wasn't!🤢

Rey completely ignored Taani and laughed at Shivam.

Rey: I didn't do it purposely.😛

Niki: You could have said no.😵

Rey: I didn't want to.😆

And the laughter continued. After about an hour or so a well-built man came and stood behind them and cleared his throat.

Gang: KARAN SIR?😲

He got a bit scared and looked behind to find no unfamiliar face. He wondered whom did they call out so loud to?

Rey: Sir aap peeche kyu dekh rahe ho?😕

Simmi: Exactly sir? You forgot us?😕

Armaan: Tum sab iss patient ke saath ho right?

Sharon: Sir you really forgot us?

Neha: Neha upset that you forgot us sir.😒

Taani, Niki, Shivam, Aashi: Karan sir?😕

Dr. Nikki: Sir? Armaan tum professor bhi ho kya?😆

Armaan: You mad? Patients sambhale nahi jaate aur bachon ko padhau, no ways!🤢

Riddhima: Toh fir yeh sab tumhe 'Karan' sir kyu bula rahe hai?

Rey: Because ye unka naam hai.

Nikki: Iska naam Armaan hai. Dr. Armaan Mallik.

Sharon: No it's Karan Mallik.

Girls (dreamingly): The hottest professor!

Riddhima (possessively): Iska naam ARMAAN hai!😡

Armaan: Meri lady gabbar shaant ho jao.😆 (to the gang) Mein Armaan hoon not Karan.

Nil: But aap..

Vicky: Same dikhte ho.

Simmi: Same haircut..

Rinni: Tattoo bhi same hai.

Armaan: I know sab same hai but mein Karan nahi hoon.

Riddhima: Karan kaun hai?

Armaan: Mera twin!😛

Nikki: Yeh kab paida hua?😲

Armaan: Actually yeh mujhe bhi nahi pata. Palki ne atchanak paida kiya! (sorry couldn't help it🤣)

He looked at everyone's faces which gave a no kidding look and he spoke.

Armaan: He is my twin but we haven't met nor seen each other after seventh grade. Reasons are too deep and too boring. So tum sab uske students ho?

Gang: Haan/No

Armaan: Haan ya na?😕

Taani: I mean hum charo (Taani, Niki, Shivam, Aashi) ke college join karne se pehle he left.

Armaan: Oh.

He checked Shivam and found him stable enough but asked him to stay in hospital for a week. He then left leaving the gang with themselves.

Taani: Aap sab kya soch rahe ho?

Swayam: Abhi tak yeh baat digest nahi hui ki yeh Dr. Armaan hai aur Karan sir nahi.

Rey: True. I mean pehle jab unhone pehchana nahi I was completely shocked.

Sharon: Now I miss him.😒

Taani: Aap sab unse kaafi attached the?

Sharon: Aaj yeh jo hum sab saath hai, aur vo dazzling weakling wali border nahi hai humare beech, sab unhi ki vajah se hai. He started to erase this divide and look we are all together now.😳

Rey: I miss those days.

Swayam: Me too.

Vicky: Kaise Karan sir ne humari help ki thi humari girls ko patane mein.

Neha: Kya?😲

Swayam: Neha relax, Vicky tumhe hi patane ke liye help le raha tha, mere aur Rey ki tarah.

Vicky: Swayam, Rey just humare saath tha, vo koi tips nahi le raha tha.

Swayam: I know better Vicky.😈

Vicky: Rey kise patana chahata tha? (after thinking) Kriya ko?Rey, dhokebaaz, mujhe laga tha ki tum meri help kar rahe the!😲😭

Rey: Vicky chill.

Taani was feeling awkward in all this conversation. Seeing Rey all cool when his secret of taking tips to impress Kriya was out, surprised her even more. Earlier when Kriya was here he felt a bit uncomfortable with talk regarding her until Taani herself told Rey that she trusted him and he need not feel awkward around Kriya. Trust, she thought, why did I mess us up?

Niki: Guys it's getting really late, you all should leave.

Rey: Nik even you are leaving.😳

Niki: No I'm not, someone needs to be here with Shivam.

Shivam: Niki iski jarurat nahi hai, you go.

Niki: No!

Rey: I'll wait here then. Sharon take her with you.

Niki: But.

Rey (sternly): Nik.😳

They left biding adieu to Rey and Shivam. Since Shivam was not sleepy they both talked randomly. After about fifteen minutes.

Shivam: Taani tum gayi nahi?

Taani: Haan voh I thought I should wait here for the night.

Shivam: Rey waise bhi ruka tha, tumhe rukne ki jarurat nahi thi.

Rey: Shivam I'll be back in sometime.

Taani: Rey.

Rey stopped in his way before rushing out. Tears threatened to spill out of Taani's eyes seeing his ignorance. Shivam held her hand and made her sit on the table beside his bed.

Shivam: I don't know what has happened between you two, but give him some time. Meine observe kiya hai ki jab bhi vo tumhe dekhta hai, uski aakhon mein pain nazar aata hai and then he gets angry. Which is quite weird.

Taani: After insulting his love I deserve this.😭

She burst out crying while Shivam tried to calm her down. They were oblivious to the shadow who heard their conversation.

The next morning the gang came to visit Shivam. He convinced them to leave saying he was completely fine. After a lot of argument he managed to send them off. Now only Niki was with him while the rest were at college.

Taani: Rey.

Ignoring her, he kept on walking.

Taani: Rey stop.

Seeing that he wasn't listening she pulled him inside the fire exit and closed the door.

Rey: What?😡

Taani: I.. I needed to.. talk.. to you.🤔

Rey: I'm not interested! Don't you understand?😡

He banged his fist on the wall behind scaring her. She had never seen him this angry. He walked out leaving her weeping. She too got up after a while, wiped her tears and promised herself that she won't back away seeing his anger and will win him soon. She knew by looking into his eyes that his love for her hadn't changed even a bit but he was restraining himself. She had to break the chains that he had locked himself with. She didn't know how, but she had to.

Rey went to the hospital and noticed Niki and Shivam busy with their cute mushy talks. His heart became heavy seeing them and he quickly rushed out and went to the terrace. Niki noticed his retreating figure and walked behind him.

Niki: Yansh?

Rey: Nik leave me alone please!

Niki: Did you fight with Taani?

Rey: Leave I said!

Niki: Answer me dammit!😡

Rey: Yes! You have any problem with that?😡

Niki: What's wrong Yansh?

Rey: Listen Nik I'm not in the mood to talk. I'll end up shouting at you as well. So please leave-me-alone!

Niki: You are as it is shouting. Now speak up!

He knew he couldn't ever escape her hence spoke up.

Rey: Am I right Nik?😒

Niki: What do you feel?

Rey: After that night when Taani accused me and questioned my love for her, I just don't feel right. I'm trying hard to be normal but just the mention of her name or by seeing her in front of me, all those words flash in my head. I can't get them out. It feels like she just said that she trusted me but she never did. That day she accused me for the second time. The first time she did, it didn't affect me as we both didn't know each other well enough, but this time.. I wish I wake up realizing that it's just a bad dream. My heart aches to be with her but her one sight brings the pain back that I'm trying to erase. I'm distancing myself from her before I lose control over my anger and end up doing something that I shouldn't. Now tell me, am I doing right?😔😒

Niki: Yansh, like I said before, don't ever push yourself. Time heals everything and I'm sure it'll heal you too.😊

Rey: But will I ever forget what was said?😒

Niki: I can't assure you that but you will definitely not feel sad about it with time😊

Rey: Nik I feel lost.

Niki: You better come back before I file a complaint in lost and found department saying 'My Darling Brother is Lost. Please Find Him.'😉

It worked. Her cute antics made him forget about his sorrows and smile warmheartedly. The smile really reached his eyes.

Niki: This smile suits you, don't ever lose it!😳

OMG emoticon filled update after a really long time.😛😆

Now coming to what I was saying.

Rey and Taani won't be back together in just a fortnight. I mean he is hurt he will take time to come out of it. Just because he loves her a lot, it doesn't mean he will forgive this soon.
