This update gave us a glimpse into the Raizada family.
Aarti, cold and cocooned in her shell. Was she like this even before the disappearance of Anjali. Probably does not matter as the kids has seen this Aarti majority of their lives.

Looks like she has adorned herself as the caretaker of family culture and traditions, but at what cost.

Arnav remembers his mother as someone who would walk away with hurt for even the slightest failure of her kids.
Somehow as of now I can associate Aarti with just coldness.

Anjali's disappearance has indeed wrecked this family. Actually it has wrecked both the families (Khushi's family too). Aarti, somehow has neglected her other children either grieving for Anjali or looking for Anjali or cursing Khushi.

Her husband seems to have moved away from his wife and from his duties and responsibilities as a father and a son.

Arnav seems to have grown up overnight to look after the family matters.
And the shocking revelation for me was Akash. Alcoholic, divorced - he seemed pathetic.
And from the way he spoke to his mother, I have this bad feeling that Aarti was responsible for his failed marriage and his alcoholism.

From the looks of it, Aarti has destroyed her entire family grieving for one of her missing daughters.

And she wants to destroy Khushi's life too now. I cannot control but laugh at that statement she made. Instead of first fixing her family's problems, she is bent upon destroying someone else life, what a woman indeed!!!!!

Loved the pics Sandhya. Indeed what an experience it must be to live amongst so much greenery and nature.

Arnav's family equation is so different from Khushi. . They both lost someone/something precious on that day.. Where Raizada lost their daughter, Gupta's lost their home. . Gupta's love for each other bind them together and gave courage to move on.. Where as it is more difficult for Raizada to carry on with their lives.. No knowing where anjali is, is she still alive or not??.. I can't even understand the pain, a mother is going through all these years.. But I think its not fair of Arti to completly shut her family, her husband and her children to her pain.. Her anger and hatred is only breaking her family..

I liked Manorma. . She seems to be a compassionate and lovely woman.. And shares a great bond with her mother in law.. Not like Arti for whom her ego and status war is everything. .

Akash is really a mess.. From the looks of it, he doesn't go along with his mother.. Well he is not wrong in this.. His mother is unbearable..

Loved the update. . Continue soon. .

The pictures convey what a beautiful place you have chosen as the setting for this story.
The Raizada family appears shattered beyond any hope of repair. Aarti's seems like she is encased in ice and has no normal motherly nurturing capabilities in her. I wonder what kind of a mother she was even before Anjali's disappearance. I recall that she was not very receptive to Khushi even before and wondered if she was like that due to the class differences or was there something more personal?

Arnav and Akash seem to have grown up in this toxic environment where the parents are not there for them. I am waiting to find out why their father is not there and what are the issues with him and Aarti's. It was very telling that Aakash has taken to alcohol to drown his sorrows and Arnav seems burdened with family and business responsibilities. Their grandmother and aunt appear to be providing the only emotional support they have.

It was interesting that Arnav is thinking he should have recognized Khushi and the reference to the eyes...what is their past interaction and impression of each other?

You have a thing for Porsche Cayenne...Admit it?!

I am not going to turn this to 'bash Aarti' post, although my initial reaction was to do just that. But only a mother can feel what it is to lose a young child, rest can just empathize. But twenty years is a long time isn't it? To let go, to gather the pieces of your life, to concentrate on what is left, but somehow she doesn't want that wound to heal. She wants to keep that pain afresh, so may be, blaming an eight year old and keeping that grudge alive, helps her to do just that. Probably, this constant reminder gives her a hope that her daughter is still alive. But I do find her character rather conflicting, on one side we have a mother who doesn't want to give up on her lost daughter and on the other hand the same mother is cold and distant to her teenager. Yes tragedies do leave a nasty mark on your soul, but can a mother forget that she is a mother to two more children? May be its too early to discern what Aarti is all about...will wait patiently.

I feel for Arnav, the burden on his shoulder is immense. The business, the dysfunctional family, the responsibility of holding everything together. How long can one go on? I now understand his need to be left alone with mother nature, the only source apart from Sumitra which provides him that much needed tranquility.

It pains me to say this, but I think for once Arnav's mom is right. I think Anjali is alive. What a sad family this is. All their money wasn't able to help them. They lost one child to tragedy, another is a drunk divorced heart-broken mess and a third is killing his essence in the hopes of being accepted. I love Manorama and Mahinder. And Dadi.
Khushi's family is amazing. Would love to see their reaction next. Of course, it's going to be more normal there than the Raizada household.

Aarti is a very bitter woman. In fact, she is so overcome by bitterness that she has failed to be a mother to her two boys. And that has had a huge impact on both Arnav and Akash. Arnav is still trying to please his mother and keep her happy. Akash is now a cynical person, probably growing up with unhappy, broken parents and then the divorce.
What a difference an attitude can make? Losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to a mother. Probably because Anjali was never found it has not brought closure and she still believes she is alive somewhere (and maybe she is). But that does not justify her being so selfish and taking out all the anger, bitterness on her sons due to her own They are grieving for their sister's loss too!

Arnav seemed to be reacting to his mother's anger and outburst and I didnt get the feeling that he was angry with Khushi or blaming her. It was sad to see how he controlled his emotions and tried to please his mother - probably what he has been trying to do all his life! He did wonder what Anjali would have felt.

Like Akash already - he is cynical and broken after his divorce, but seems really interesting. Hope you have a parallel story of Akash and Payal.
