Hey,

I have been wanting to write to you since a long time but then got caught up with something or the other. So today I am here, complementing one of my favourite authors. I am loving this story, FYI... J

Your every story is different from the previous one. And well that makes you the BEST :) I m loving this Arnav. The characterization is very amazing. In fact I totally recognize from where he is coming from. When life subjects you to trials and turbulences and you find no reason for the series of events occurring in your life, to the point where you lose control...you become objective.

You start perceiving things at a very different level...the relevance of many things, beliefs, actions becomes negotiable. You start listening to yourself. You want to hear your heartbeat, look around you, finally see what matters to you the most...

Arnav has very well made everyone around him know where he is coming from...and at the same time he is sensitive enough to keep in mind Khushi's beliefs and wants to give due respect to it...that shows the strength of his character.

Jenny your Arnav and Sandhya's Arnav are both different yet alike. Strong personalities but very humane. And they are aware of their priorities and best they know where to place whom...which unfortunately most of us lack.

The complexity of their character is what beautifully defines them...

Life doesn't come easy to us and that is what I foresee in Arnav and Khushi's story...so I am hooked (with a prayer) to see what next...

Thanks for the pm...

Happy writing!

Sorry for being so late but I finally un-res my comment here.

About the teaser, Mrs. Raizada I feel it's Lavanya.

They are still married. And from that prospective Khushi is the other woman. Though I don't like that term for her but it is true.

That's why Astha said to start the new relation while the old one existed at least in the eyes of society.

K,
butting in here, love your's and jigs comments.
marriage is also about tolerance, patience, empathy, commitment, endurance...
no matter how much love exists, is it ok to up and leave because of extremely trying periods? some do. I have never understood this. but I do realize that its not always moments of bliss that keep relationships together. it's each individual's tolerance level and the level of commitment that also comes into play.

Loving the inputs you guys are giving. In everyday busy lives we hardly think about such things deeply and its nice to dig deeper into these thoughts which makes way to a whole new world of understanding relationships around us.

Thanks to Jen and SF, this discussion began because in SF, a weak relationship broke making way to a more stronger relationship and if we look around we find such instances happening everyday around us.

The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon.

Jen, thanks to you for writing "Saffron Fields" and giving us so much to think about.

Coming to thinking...

How many people would have supported Arnav & Lavanya relationship if Kushi and Lavanya roles are reversed? (i.e. Arnav & Kushi married for Aarav and he is still alive or not) and Arnav & Kushi in the process of separation and Arnav & Lavanya are in relationship. Would we still support Arnav & Lavanya or want Arnav & Kushi to reconcile as wedding is utmost sacred relationship etc.?. What will be our perspective?. Does names and characters hold so much importance to change our POV?

Very tough question Jay. For IPK fans, we cannot even think of the idea of Arnav and Khushi separating. If the roles were reversed, I am not even sure what would my opinion be. On one hand I would want Arnav to move on and on the other I cannot imagine him leaving Khushi and moving on.

But lets say their names are not Arnav, Khushi and Lavanya, then I would want Arnav or whatever his name will be to move on and find love elsewhere.

No need to apologize for referencing "Memories" my dear 🤗

As far as marriage goes, since it pertains to both stories... in my humble opinion and being married to the love of my life for the past 14 years is all dependent on how strong your love for the other is but it has to be reciprocated and both the husband and wife need to be in it 50/50. It is hard work to keep the love and relationship going, but communication is big factor to make it successful. Marriage requires work, and it's not always perfect... no matter how much you love each other. But isn't that in any relationship? It's never perfect is it...

In SF... Arnav and Lavanya's relationship, there wasn't love, at least I do not see it that way. He felt obligated to marry because of the baby. She might love him, but if it's not returned what is the point? In life you should love and want to be loved in return... don't force someone to love you, because that is not how it works...

In Memories...though I haven't started the SS, my vision for that story is to showcase, a married couple finding their way back to each other after drifting apart. Something that happens everyday, but it's their love that will help them get back to one another... though they might be feeling the void now...

This is my opinion, I hope I do not offend anyone...

Jigs... I agree with you...
In SF Lavanya was living in a fool's paradise to think that her action of tricking Arnav to marry her would automatically bring him to loving her...
Its his innate good nature that he accepted Aarav as his even after knowing that he was not and that the link in their marriage was Aarav and nothing else...
