Twiggs, I'm sorry for being so late.
But AD is tough these days.
Sorry!

I loved Payal here.
She was the typical loving elder sister.
Loved this Payal.
The way she wanted to share everything with Khushi.
This showed how much she missed her sister.
And she seemed happy with life in general
Life is moving ahead for her.
She is near to achieving her goals.
And her personal life too seems to be improving.
Payal is in a happy place.

Loved the Khushi Shashi conversation.
Shashi is feeling guilty and wanted to clear things up with Khushi.
But maybe he forgot he had a very intelligent daughter who has spent the last few weeks in excruciating circumstances. She has grown up and matured. Sometimes it does us good to see how the other half live. It makes us circumspect and count our blessings. Khushi has now realised the kind of life her parents lived before making it good in life. And understood the reasoning behind her father insisting upon her having something to fall back upon if she failed at writing.

This, for me was one of the best written chapters in this story.
Sorry its coming to an end.
Hope you'll start another one once this is over.

wow!! Arnav's kanyakumari trip n Khushi's successful project work in the village was not only tremendously enriching but was life altering as welll... not to forget how well they both were rejuvenated to proceed head on post the trip!.. :))
It is like they have found the true meaning 'n' purpose of their of life...
The whole interaction between Shashi n Khushi is totally overwhelming yaa.. Only thing I want to word here is - priceless.. The said words , the unspoken emotions were depicted marvellously! It was like a very very a natural scene extracted from anybody's daily life! Just amazing!!

I tried to post a quote but it turned out to be a blank post ! 😲 😆
I guess I need to work harder and with more determination at learning how to post pictures and quotes with the same amount of zeal and determination as Khushi did in achieving success in her goal ...

"Life is all about how you choose to see things . You can complain about your boss or you can thank God about your job . You can complain about mowing the lawn or you can thank God that you have a yard . You can complain about the price of gas or you can thank God that you have an automobile ... "

Khushi took her fathers decision for her with a positive attitude and chose to make the most of what she was doing whole heartedly ... there really is no joy bigger than seeing your hard work bearing the fruits of all that you have toiled for diligently over the past few weeks ...
Shashi and Khushi's interaction was really heart warming ... Shashi's guilt at making her give up something that was a passion was so palpable but she realised the reason behind his decision ...

"I understand why you kept insisting that I think beyond fancy dreams when deciding what I wanted to do in life...
I have seen too much to be satisfied with writing alone. I know more than what would allow me the comfort of a good night's sleep unless I do something about it. There is too much misery and destitution in this world for anyone to be able to ignore...
I have tasted the drug that is service... "

Am sure that just those words alone must have made Shashi a very proud man ... making him realise that his little girl was little no more and was all grown up and mature to face the world squarely ...

Thank you Twiggy ... feeling really sad to know that just two more chapters left for PJ to end ...
Hoping that you will write some more ...

This one brought tears to my eyes. Perhaps I relate to this as a parent. I dont know, but then I honestly don't care... :)

It made me miss my own home, my parents and siblings. You know, your update made me feel every single mile that stands between me and my natal family. What is with your writing Twiggy! Isnt it strange that we miss our own most during reunions! Those innate contradictions we hold within ourselves as human beings! :)

But the most remarkable thing about this update for me was that interaction between father and daughter. What a lovely man! Yes, his daughter continues to confound him but he is able to swing with her to all the surprises she throws at him. I understand his promise to stand by her. And I think Khushi will hold him to that promise soon enough. :)

It is also remarkable that the things that we sometimes THINK important no longer hold the same significance when life thrusts new lessons on us. I believe that is what Khushi was trying to tell her father - not that her love for writing is any less, but the enormity of what she saw in the eyes of those villagers - their deprivation, penury, hardship.. these are life's hard truths shift our axes and change the way we see our selves and the world around us for ever. Now, her writing will be informed with this new found knowledge - making her a better writer perhaps. :)

I loved how you left everyone with their dignity - Khushi with her new bodhisatva, her father with a new found appreciation for his daughter, a sister who sees the hero in her sibling..

Kya bolun ab Twiggy? Rula diya in a nice way.. :)
