Looks like tempers frayed ... Garima didnt come off very well there did she? She does seem a bit wishy washy for a mother who sired two very independent daughters. I mean - Payal is no one's door mat and Khushi certainly seems to know what she doing.. at least for whom she is doing it..

You know, I left that update thinking that Khushi's parents were entirely clueless! They have no idea what is going on with her.. While they were busy calling each other responsible for her misery, it was Khushi's crowning glory moment... at least it is on its way to its glorious moment? Hain? What have I missed here? Some one needs to call these parents to wake them up.. :)

I have to say I did enjoy that introspection on Khushi's part.. typical grassroots based community development.. Twiggy - your research is showing.. :)

How much I loved it!! You make it interesting even without bringing leads or romance in the air.
Every parents try to be the best, their child's friends but somehow along the line their concern, fears take over. You have represented this fact so brilliantly with Shashi & Garima thought process. Although I must say that they are still very cool set of parents.
There are people like Khushi who find happiness in whatever they do and try to give their best shot even if it's not their choice of field or work. It reminded me of my brother somehow. Khushi is consciously putting her work before her mauscript. I guess it's because of the pleasure she derives on seeing hope seeping in villagers again and she, like many others who have tried before her, doesn't want to let them down.
I love that even after being miles apart Arnav didn't miss wishing her on her important day. 😊

Khushi is taking pleasure in doing those things which were not close to her heart...happy in her own space

Parents are bound to make sure that their kids wouldn't land in dire situations ...forcing them into doing things which they think would make them independent ...guitars did the same..hope everything falls in place for all of them

We don't need the lead pair in the same frame as long as you churn such fantastic updates twigs!

@ Bold: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU 🤗

I was almost regretting posting these two parts in the chapter, because the second half was supposed to be the hero. This chapter was so crucial to Khushi's evolution, and I wanted to bring the contrast between the two scenes out.

But Garima infuriated so many of the readers, I feared that Khushi's "crowning glory moment" was largely ignored. SO HAPPY YOU NOTED IT! Saans me saans aayi!

And while Garima, like you pointed out, is mostly unaware of it, Shashi does have some inkling. He refuses to underestimate his daughter, right?

Garima - less wishy washy and more hysterical (in this chapter)

But really, you have no idea how happy (and relieved!) your comment made me feel.

Thank you so much 😊

1) For being kind to Garima and cutting her some slack. Its human to be unreasonable at times, no?
2) For noting that Khushi preferring her work over the manuscript was not a compromise, but a conscious choice because she has begun to derive pleasure and satisfaction from her work.

Thank you so much, aquagirl. This were the two most important elements in the chapter, and your observations were spot on 😃

You are sooo welcome Twiggy!

You know.. I meant it when I said, "what did I miss here"... :) I read every word you write my friend.. :) I don't want to miss anything you have to say.. So glad I didn't miss her transformation, her moment of awareness..

You have been telling a very different story - not your conventional FF.. and Yes! that is a good thing.. :) I have been enjoying your writing.. its very muted but that is its drama.. :)

I was so caught up with ArHi, I barely remembered Khushi has parents who are dealing with their choices too.

I remember being angry at Shashi for forcing upon Khushi his career choices. I also remember agreeing to his need to safeguard his daughter from any difficulties she may face in the future. And I am still in two minds, though I know Khushi is happy working for people, making their lives better. Poor Garima doesn't even know that. Lucky for Shashi and Khushi that she made progress with the decisions made for her. But I can't help but wonder, the destination via the road not taken couldn't really have been a disaster either. Do I make sense?

Arnav found peace and a sense of purpose with nature. Khushi did by providing people with facilities beyond what nature could provide...

''Their attitude towards governance or any external interference had come to mirror that of governance towards them - indifference." Loved this. Probably that is why Khushi is succeeding where others didn't. She made their problems her own and saw to it that the people made her efforts theirs

I agree. Parents are human only and it's difficult to separate logic and emotions when a loved one is concerned.
You are welcome 😊

My Saiyyu Rani 🤗

You do make sense...the whole question of "what if" does exist. But not everyone has the stomach for "the road not taken", hai naa?

And thank you for noting how they are both finding peace - not compromise, but peace.

And you are spot on about how Khushi managed to connect with the locals - it was a simple understanding of what they wanted - a genuine willingness to help.
