Khushi is the person who could see through the things shashi wanted her to..what if she couldn't come in flying colors?what if she was dejected if she couldn't do justice to the degree she is forced upon ?
May be shashi is quite sure that khushi would !

Coming to the update ...long overdue heart felt discussion between papa and khushi..

Waiting for the guest house meeting..

So sad that it's coming to end..

In these last few chapters I feel you have put in a little of yourself, your thoughts, beliefs...the serenity of nature, the joy it can give, the peace of doing service, something meaningful, parenting.

I tried to post a quote but it turned out to be a blank post ! 😲 😆
I guess I need to work harder and with more determination at learning how to post pictures and quotes with the same amount of zeal and determination as Khushi did in achieving success in her goal ...

"Life is all about how you choose to see things . You can complain about your boss or you can thank God about your job . You can complain about mowing the lawn or you can thank God that you have a yard . You can complain about the price of gas or you can thank God that you have an automobile ... "

Khushi took her fathers decision for her with a positive attitude and chose to make the most of what she was doing whole heartedly ... there really is no joy bigger than seeing your hard work bearing the fruits of all that you have toiled for diligently over the past few weeks ...
Shashi and Khushi's interaction was really heart warming ... Shashi's guilt at making her give up something that was a passion was so palpable but she realised the reason behind his decision ...

"I understand why you kept insisting that I think beyond fancy dreams when deciding what I wanted to do in life...
I have seen too much to be satisfied with writing alone. I know more than what would allow me the comfort of a good night's sleep unless I do something about it. There is too much misery and destitution in this world for anyone to be able to ignore...
I have tasted the drug that is service... "

Am sure that just those words alone must have made Shashi a very proud man ... making him realise that his little girl was little no more and was all grown up and mature to face the world squarely ...

Thank you Twiggy ... feeling really sad to know that just two more chapters left for PJ to end ...
Hoping that you will write some more ...

Thanks, Kishmish!

You are right, Shashi is a proud father 😊 And yes, Khushi has grown up.. its a bittersweet feeling but there is no escape from it.

Oh, and that quote hold so true. In everything, we can either focus on the good things about it or find things to complain about. Like they say, happiness is a choice :)

This one brought tears to my eyes. Perhaps I relate to this as a parent. I dont know, but then I honestly don't care... :)

It made me miss my own home, my parents and siblings. You know, your update made me feel every single mile that stands between me and my natal family. What is with your writing Twiggy! Isnt it strange that we miss our own most during reunions! Those innate contradictions we hold within ourselves as human beings! :)

But the most remarkable thing about this update for me was that interaction between father and daughter. What a lovely man! Yes, his daughter continues to confound him but he is able to swing with her to all the surprises she throws at him. I understand his promise to stand by her. And I think Khushi will hold him to that promise soon enough. :)

It is also remarkable that the things that we sometimes THINK important no longer hold the same significance when life thrusts new lessons on us. I believe that is what Khushi was trying to tell her father - not that her love for writing is any less, but the enormity of what she saw in the eyes of those villagers - their deprivation, penury, hardship.. these are life's hard truths shift our axes and change the way we see our selves and the world around us for ever. Now, her writing will be informed with this new found knowledge - making her a better writer perhaps. :)

I loved how you left everyone with their dignity - Khushi with her new bodhisatva, her father with a new found appreciation for his daughter, a sister who sees the hero in her sibling..

Kya bolun ab Twiggy? Rula diya in a nice way.. :)

Spot on, MB!

@Bold: Exactly, I myself couldn't have articulated it better. Life is never the same; things will change whether we like it or not. The only way to live is to embrace those changes and take whats good from them.

And thanks for noting that in the end, no body was wrong and no body was right. Everyone was right in their own place, and has learnt from their mistakes.

Always love reading your comments; I read that and I feel like I have managed to communicate what I wanted to. What better relief than that for a writer? Thank you, really 😊

I don't have the proper words to say what emotions this story and especially the last few chapters generate. The crux of this story whether it was Arnav's struggle or shashis or Khushi is something most of us struggle with at some pointer another and the way it was portrayed with both sides and no right or wrong...loving it

The homecoming was a very blessed affair. It was nice of you to bring in some sister bonding, and Payal's words although with a hint of abruptness were the perfect boost Khushi could get, despite the high she was on after the successful accomplishment of her work.

I was expecting Garima to come and talk top Khushi; after all, her apprehensions were much more heightened that Shashi's, and because women are more comfortable with talking, I thought she would be the one to voice her fears for her daughter. Shashi of course had the most endearing heart-to-heart. It was easy to imagine the varying emotions that he experienced; the gratification that he experienced at the end was much needed. I especially loved the part where Khushi explained as to how they have always been on the same page, and only the one occasion where they had differing views, things went awry.

Only one chapter left? There are many things I'm looking forward to the closure of.
