Tom returned to his room feeling utterly exhausted. He had only just sat down on his bed when Duds entered.
He stood up beginning to change.
"Where are you going?" Duds asked.
"It's nearly 7... And today is a week day..." Tom answered shortly and continued pulling on a fresh pair of jeanz.
"And Harry just announced today off." Duds informed him.
Tom sighed and slumped back down onto his bed.
"Good choice, take same rest."
Duds left as Tom nodded. He was exhausted and feeling sleepy. A huge encounter with a werewolf was now beginning to feel quite weird.
He lay down and in a matter of minutes slumber had taken over him.
After hours perhaps, he woke up. All he knew was that the sun was fading back behind the clouds. It was early evening. He sat up feeling dazed and weak. He felt thirsty. He felt around in his pocket for his wand and realised he didn't have it on him. At this point, he also realised that something else was missing from his pocket. It was the black stone that he had found a few days ago and decided to keep it on himself. He had meant to keep it away from students as he didn't know what it was yet.
He searched the jeanz he had taken off before going to bed. There it was. He found it. He took his wand from the bed side table, and attached an artificial hinge to the locket, materialised a chain out of thin air, put the locket in it and wore it around his neck. Now, he wouldn't lose it.
He freshened up and left his room going to Harry's office when he realised perhaps Harry had been thinking of the same thing as he stood right outside his room when Tom opened his door.
"You could have knocked, you know." Tom smiled and winked at him.
Harry grinned. "I was going to. Feeling well?" He asked as he entered and Tom shut the door behind him.
"For the last time, Harry, yes, I am. Are you happy now?"
"Very, because you and I have an errand to run."
"To where?"
"Dungeons. Greyback's coming around."
Tom's smile faded. "Who else is going to be there, other than us I mean?" he asked.
Harry smiled to see him anxious. He knew what he was thinking. "No one other than you and I. If he does let something slip about Riddle no one would know."
Tom nodded but he knew it would be hard to keep Greyback's mouth shut once he starts talking.
"Are you prepared for him?" Tom asked him.
Harry pulled out a small phial full of clear liquid. "Yes, I am."
Within minutes the two of them were making their way to the Dungeons. Once, outside Greyback's Dungeon, Harry pulled out his wand to remove the charms he had put on it. As he did, Tom noticed something. Harry's wand, it seemed different. He had seen Harry try to stun Greyback earlier in the Entrance Hall. Then, Harry's spell hadn't worked. Now, he had been able to confine Greyback with this wand. What was the difference between the two wands? For a moment, Tom felt his curiosity getting the best of him.
He knew Harry's mind was always protected with occlumency but he also knew that he could easily penetrate it and for a moment he wanted to. He wanted to discover the secret of the wand that was inches away from him...
"Tom."
Harry's voice shook him back to present and as if in a flash the lure of the wand abandoned him. He nodded at Harry's worried expression. What was he thinking? He had never used his powers intentionally. Why did he want to now? Harry would tell him all about the wand when he would want to, now however was not the time for that.
Both Harry and Tom entered the dungeon to find Greyback staring at them hungrily. He pulled at his chains and growled at them as they entered.
"Try a little harder." Harry mocked him as he sealed the dungeon behind himself and Tom. Now, if anyone even walked by it, they wouldn't be able to see any of them.
"Oh, I'll try, Potter! Let the moon rise!" He growled again. "Let it rise and I'll succeed in all my trials..."
"I would wish a lot of luck for that, after all, King Bruce and the Spider did not mention it could not inspire vermin like you." Harry smirked sarcastically at Greyback as Tom stood at his side. "But there's still time for the moon to rise, why don't you please us with a story, with the story, in fact, of how you got in and why did you try to kill Porch, what do you say?"
Greyback laughed out in an almost growl. "Mockery doesn't suit you, Potter! Try begging me for mercy, for when I break out of here, you and your sweet wife will be my first targets. "Unless of course..." Greyback's eyes turned to Tom. "your ready to sacrifice himself hero and my pre-cooked meal decides to jump in between again? Eh?" He winked at Tom who felt like cursing him but controlled himself. Harry wasn't done with him yet. But it seemed like Greyback wasn't done either. "Nevermind, what you think, I already know... guess how..."
Tom made toward him but Harry grabbed him. Greyback continued. "Nope, it wasn't your brother that spilled your chivalry to me, it was you little peppy puppet, Alexsss..."
Tom had lunged at him before Harry could stop him. Knocking Greyback's chair over, he had taken it clean off its feet and now sat right on top of Greyback. He had forgotten well about pulling out a wand. He did what he had been meaning to do for quite some time now, and threw a punch into his face. "You dare take his name again and you shall not live to see the next second!" He threatened him but to his utter shock, Greyback did not even so much as blink. There was no flicker of fear on his face, instead he mocked him further. He laughed at the top of his lungs again.
"Shutup!" Tom shouted but saw no effect whatsoever. He got up and turned away. Once his cruel laughter died down he turned back to him. "What are you?" He asked not being able to help himself.
"Misunderstood..." Greyback answered and burst out laughing again. He was tied to a chair on his back on the floor and he was still mocking them.
Tom had not seen the evil the likes of him before except of course... "My brother sent you, why?" He asked firmly.
"Oh, didn't he send a postcard?" He answered and burst out again.
"Enough! Silencio!" Harry put an immediate end to the torture Greyback had been putting Tom through. "If you want to leave, you may." Harry turned to Tom who stood his ground, gulped down and shook his head.
