Harry Potter and the Return of Voldemort: edited the post on page 32 - Page 50

For the time being though, he decided to put it out of his mind. Time flew for Tom so fast that they reached May with a brutal season of exams. As the first years went through their first tests, the fifth years tackled their O.W.Ls and the 7th years fought through their N.E.W.Ts, Harry's plan became profound. The DA had made all arrangements, everything was prepared that was required for an abrupt apparition to the mountains for over a dozen Army members.

"We should reconsider it once more." Tom voiced his concern for the hundredth time. "Wouldn't it be easier if we just arrested Malfoy? It would save us the trouble of a chaos." Tom said not wanting to have another encounter with Riddle. The last one had been quite painful. Today was finally the day before Riddle's meeting with the giants and Harry had called Tom and Ginny so they could leave for HQ.

"And what are we going to tell the wizarding world? We're arresting the newly appointed head of the law enforcement department because he' working for Voldemort, who's supposed to have died 20 years ago?" Harry answered nearly fuming

"But we'll make Malfoy confess."

"And you think he's going to give in?"

"If he's that hard to break, we'll use his memory to expose him."

"Tom, you don't understand. Memories can be plotted. We'll suspected for doing so."

"Think of it this way, who are they going to believe, The Harry Potter or Malfoy?"

"Look, a lot has changed in the past 20 years. Malfoy is now as respected as I am and I dare say he's earned it. Only recently, when I took Hermione off the Ministry he was made the new head of the department of law and enforcement and now if we try to expose him through his memories people will suspect us to have plotted it all against Malfoy out of sheer resentfulness and jealousy."

"Ok. But even if we get hold of Riddle, he's not going to confess either."

"Tom, we don't need him confessing yet. We want to put him into Azkaban so he doesn't carry his plans off of immortality and the destruction of muggles and muggle borns. And if he's gone Malfoy will give in himself and then we'll have something to boast about."

Tom didn't argue with this. After all, he couldn't ignore facing Riddle forever. He knew that Riddle's powers could only be penetrated by him.

"You won't be alone, Tom." Harry said who seemed to have read his thoughts. "The whole of the Army will be there."

Tom, nodded knowing deep down, that none of their spells would work. He had for years at Hogwarts heard of the famous Harry Potter. He had been depending on him and Harry had proven to be stronger than either him or Riddle but the fact that Riddle had beaten him in the end had been quite unsettling. He had no idea what he would do, if he ended up being the only one who could match Riddle.

Tom apprehension and fear are understandable.

As Tom, Harry and Ginny apparated to the HQ, the Army greeted them warmly. Tom who had been feeling rather gloomy moments ago now felt a little more confident than before. The Army's support meant quite a lot to him. But as he saw all of their smiles and confidence in him, he realised something. The moment they all would apparate to the Himalayas and see exactly who the new Voldemort actually was, these smiles and confidences may not be as intact.

i understand tom's worries but i'm sure harry and the elder wand are a great match for riddle - especially with the army's support...

this battle will be quite interesting though since riddle and harry don't have the same connection harry and voldemort had...
