Chapter4: Search & Realisation

"Randhir I needed a favour from you. I..."

Randhir cut her sharply.

"Can't you see I'm busy? Besides, Jiggy might be free now so go and get all the favours you need. Please just get out if here".

"It's been 5 hours since Sanyukta is missing Randhir" Kaustuki confessed.

The pen from Randhir's hand dropped, straight on the floor.

'She's got to be kidding' Randhir's head shot up see Kaustuki. She was at the verge of bursting into tears. So this clearly was not a joke. And suddenly it all made sense. That was why she did not show up in the library for the past few hours. How careless could this trouble magnet get, when she was always prone to injuries In every trouble.

He instantly turned his laptop on to trace her phone. Damn it. The phone was switched off.

"Where was she going? When did you last see her?" Randhir's voice sounded distant to himself

"She went to check out some books in the market. I insisted her to wait until tomorrow but she said she was in a hurry therefore left all by herself" Kaustuki was now crying.

Randhir left everything the way it was and headed for the market on his bike.

Dragging herself against the harsh winter thunder, Sanyukta finally managed to reach the road, only to find it completely deserted.

The road was passing through from the middle of the forest. She decided to walk along the side and let the winds lead her.

She was walking for half an hour now when she suddenly heard a roaring sound coming from the back. She turned around and noticed a bike coming towards her.

"Alright Sanyukta, time to seek help. It's now or never" she thought out loud.

It was not until the back abruptly stopped besides her when she noticed it was Parth. Oh, finally someone was here to help her.

"Parth" Sanyukta cried out loud.

"Sshhh calm down Sanyukta. We have been crazily looking around for you. Could you not bother call or even text anyone about your condition. If Dean comes to know that you have stayed out for this long, he might rusticate you" Parth shot out as soon as he found her.

"Parth help me, please help me. Someone has been trying to kill me. I don't know anything about them. Please help me".

"OH MY GOD, how did you even managed to run. Could you not have returned back to FITE, it was half an hour away. We are now 2 hours away from Rorkee. Come sit and let's move on before it starts raining" Parth spoke, concerned.

Sanyukta tried hard to sit on the bike. No help was provided by Parth.

'Oh if only Randhir was here' thought Sanyukta sadly.

At last, she managed to somehow sit on the bike and gripped Parth from shoulders.

It had been a 30 minute ride when the bike suddenly came to a halt. It had broken down and now they needed to find a shelter as it was pouring heavily.

After some time, they managed to find an old wooden factory. They ran inside. The surrounding was pitch black. Parth found some hay and pieces of dried wood to lit up the fire. It was only then when Sanyukta saw a huge scar on his right cheek.

"How did you end up here though Parth. I'm sure nobody would have an idea where I was? My phone was left behind" asked Sanyukta quite surprised.

"Well I had gone to meet my CITE friends when Kaustuki called. I headed out into this direction hoping to find you" answered Parth uneasily. It had been a while now since Parth was having mood swings and acting all irritated. Though, the answer was not very convincing. As CITE was in a complete different direction.

That was not the only thing that surprised Sanyukta. The small scars but deep scars were what surprised her the most. She had a feeling she knew what they were off but asking Parth would mean irritating his bad mood more.

It was not until she unintentionally touched the wound on her right shoulder and checked the scar, it scared the daylight out of her. She was a foolish not to realise the obvious. The realisation dawned upon her. She was breathing in the same room, As her secretive wannabe killer!
