Part 6After what seemed to have been the most eventful week of their lives. They guys and the girls were a bit confused about their feelings and emotions. Just as they all thought that they need a break to get away from all this and think over things with a clear head, vacations were about to start.
Three days have passed since the night of the party, Sanyu's mum had visited the day after the party. She met Manasvi and talked to Kaustuki. They had shown her around the campus, had lunch, took her to their dorm and just sat and had a great time. They all felt a little sad when she left. Currently the girls were sitting on Sanyu's bed and munching on some yummy food that Sanyu's mum had brought along. Just as they were going to discuss about how much they were going to miss each other, Manasvi got a call from her mum. After some very rapid Tamil conversation that Kaustuki and Sanyu didn't understand a word of. From Manasvi's expressions they gathered that she was protesting against doing something and after a pause her face lit up and she squealed and said I love you Amma! Call you back soon.
They were looking at her with puzzled expressions on their faces. She explained that her cousin was getting married and her mum wanted her to attend the wedding which she absolutely wasn't interested in, but then mum suggested that she bring her friends along so that they can all enjoy the wedding. They all screamed at that. It would be soo much fun, but there was an issue, would their parents agree to send Kaustuki and Sanyu? Manasvi had a solution to that as well. Her mum was more than happy to call their parents and get their permission. Now was just the waiting game.
The girls soon headed off to class, they met up with the boys outside and were discussing vacation plans. Sanyu was looking for Randhir, Parth with a knowing smile generally said that Randhir had gone to attend a phone call. Meanwhile, Manasvi was animatedly telling them that her, Sanyu and Kaustuki were going to her counsin's wedding. They had just gotten a call back from Manasvi's mum telling them that both their parents were completely fine with sending Sanyu and Kaustuki. Though the three girls seemed extremely excited, this came as a shock to the boys. The girls would be too busy in attending the wedding. They wouldn't see them until the term started again. Suddenly something struck Manasvi, Actually guys tum logo ko bhi ana chahiye. I'm sure my parents won't have a problem. The boys brightened up at that. Manasvi asked them for their parents numbers so that she can ask her mum to call them as well.
Latha Ramachandran had never heard her daughter sound soo excited. She had talked to Sanyukta before, such a lovely girl, extremely well mannered and kind. She had heard so much about Kaustuki that she was sure about how great she was as a friend. But this guy? Parth? Completely difference case. Latha didn't want to come to a concluding or doubt her daughter but she was going to keep an eye out for thus one. She was going down the list of names that were invited, she knew Manu was inviting Randhir and Jiggy because of Sanyu and Kaustuki. Anyway pushing those thoughts aside, she began round 2 of calling parents for permission.
Later in class, Manasvi was writing a chit to someone, it said,
Randhir,
Tum vacation mein kya kar rahe ho?
Manasvi.
She threw it over to where he was sitting. Randhir felt something hit his head, he saw the chit to paper and opened it and read the message and quickly scribbled a reply and chucked it back. It said " tumhe isse kya?" Manasvi was taken back. She wrote "mujhe isse kuch nahi hain, main sirf puch rahi thi ki agar tumhe koi plan nahi hai toh , main tumhe apne cousin ke shaadi mein invite kar rahi hoon, you interested? Sab log aa rahe hai!" He got the chit again and realised he was being invited, he replied again "sab log matlab?" He wanted to know if Sanyukta was coming. He knew her parents were strict. Manasvi was getting frustrated now "oh god Randhir agar tum pooch rahe ho ki Sanyukta aa rahi hain toh Haan! Meri mom ne uske family see baat ki aur permission le li, toh ab aa rahe ho kya?" Randhir was surprised at the answer, he slowly started having a soft corner for her, she was like that naughty little sister that knew everything. With a smile on his face he replied "toh phir mujhe toh aana chahiye". Manasvi read the chit and couldn't help but smile. "Offo! Itni si jawab ke liye itna interrogation, theek hain, baaki ki details tumhe class ke baad bataoongi" with that she stopped writing and started concentrating on the last 10 mins of the last lecture before their vacation started.
After class, Manasvi gathered everyone in the canteen and told them the details. Ok guys hamari train kal morning 7.00 ko hain, theek se ready ho Jana. Aur wahan par mere dad ne humare liye cars arrange ki hain, aur phir term start hone ke two days pehle hum wapis aa jayenge. Ok? Everyone nodded in excitement. Parth asked waise yeh plan kaise bana? " voh actually kya hai ki, cousin ki shaadi hain, mujhe Jaane mein koi interest nahin hain, isliye mummy ne suggest kiya ki tum logon ko saath lekar aaon. Actually na, yeh thoda selfish plan hain, main akeli jaoongi itna bore hongi ki kya bataoon? Agar tum logon ko saath lekar gayi toh minimum masti ki toh guarantee hain na? Aur phir bhi, tum log kabhi South Indian wedding mein kabhi Gaye nahin, aur Shaadi chennai mein bhi nahi ho rahi hai, so just imagine Kerala ke backwaters, or scenery. Kitna accha vacation hoga na?"
Everyone was just undescribably excited. They all quickly rushed to their room to start packing for their trip next day. Every single one had that gut feeling, they just knew that this was going to be one trip to remember.
