Part 5
What do you do when you are Sanyukta or Manasvi and you have a party to go to, with a person for whom you may or may not have more than platonic feelings towards and no time to shop? Both the girls were in this exact same dilemma. They they did what they should do in this situation. Raid the closet. Not theirs, they were not planning on wearing regular clothes! With an evil smirk and a knowing glance, they raided Kaustuki's. Kaustuki was just standing there helplessly. After a solid two hours the girls finally decided on their outfits. It was 4 already the part started at 6.30. They better make an entrance. Today was their day to go all out.
According to everyday stereotypes, girls take longer to get ready but the boys room looked like a tornado hit it. There were shirts, jackets, jeans, shoes belts just strewn everyone. Randhir, Parth, Jiggy and YOYo were looking for this to wear. Jiggy finally decided on an outfit. YOyo was looking at Jiggy's so he can wear a better one. Parth was holding up two shirts a bright blue and a black. Randhir meanwhile was looking for a blue shirt as he knew that Sanyukta's favourite colour was blue. He realised he left that shirt at home, the last time he visited. He looked across the room and saw Parth deciding which shirt to wear. Randhir saw the blue, and with a determined mission he asked Parth to wear the black, and asked him if he could wear the blue. Parth enquired why, and Randhir almost said Sanyu's name but stopped himself he covered up saying that blue looks good don him that's why! Parth understood why he wanted the shirt and gave it to him.
6.00 pm:
The boys were ready were anxiously waiting for the girls outside the entrance. Randhir wore a blue shirt with black jeans, Parth wore the black shirt with blue jeans and Jiggy wore a green shirt and YOyo for some strange reason wore dark purple. They were all waiting impatiently with bated breaths. Meanwhile the sponsors invited all the students and asked them to congratulate the dream team. Just as the boys were looking around for the girls. Mr Mittal announced the panel was extremely impressed with the dream team but wanted to give special mention to three people who stood out because of their hard work, team spirit and pure Intelligence.
While the girls were getting ready this morning they got a message from the peon that the panel wants them to come later in the party as they want to specially appreciate them infront of the students of FITE. The girls were backstage and were very fidgety and nervous, suddenly Mr Mittal announced their names, so boys and girl please welcome the three girls who completely bowled the whole panel. Miss Kaustuki Sherpa, Miss Manasvi Ramachandran and Miss Sanyukta Agarwal. The three girls very nervously stepped out holding each other's hand. The moment they got on to the stage they were met with a pause and an applause. The pause because everyone was staring at them with open mouths. Kaustuki was looking beautiful in a one shoulder knee length purple dress. Sanyukta looked stunning in a sleeveless grey top and a form fitting long blue skirt. Manasvi looked gorgeous in a black top and a short flared maroon skirt.
They walked down to the boys. Jiggy dragged Kaustuki immediately to the dance floor. Soon the music started and people were encouraged to grab their partners and dance. Randhir and Sanyu looked at each other and mutually moved towards the dance floor, while going Sanyu tripped and Randhir caught her in his arms. She steadied her balance but he didn't let go, he held her tighter and moved rhythmically to the music. Manasvi was just standing there with Parth, neither said a word until they heard a noise Jiggy and Kaustuki knocked over a table as Jiggy couldn't coordinate his moves and kept tripping on Kaustuki's feet. Seeing them fight Manasvi started laughing, those two were hilarious when they fought. Parth pointed out Randhir and Sanyu who were completely unfazed by the whole thing and were busy swaying to the music looking into each others eyes. Manasvi was about to agree with him but realised that she wasn't talking to him.
Arey yaar abhi bhi baat nahi karoogi? Ab toh gussa thuk de, please! Meri life thodi boring ho gayi hain. YOyo ke silly jokes par hasne ke liye meri partner Jo nahin hain hai na? Manasvi couldn't help but but slowly smile. Soon that smile went into a full fledged laugh. Parth extended his hand for a dance. She took it, he pulled her closer, looked straight into her eyes and said Sorry! All of Manasvi's anger just evaporated with that one word that he uttered with every fiber of his being and she knew he was sincere and it was coming from the bottom of his heart just by the way his voice sounded. Both the couples at that moment forgot all their fights, their differences, their problems, their surroundings. They were lost in each other eyes, feeling content. They were in a place when the whole world just felt happier.
But soon their bubble was burst and the music stopped, it was like everyone was in a hypnotised state and someone snapped their fingers. The party was coming to an end and everyone was slowly making their way back to their dorms. Not a single person said a word. They were lost in their own world. Manasvi was thinking about Parth's sincere apology and how comfortable she felt being so close to him. Sanyu couldn't believe that Randhir was so gentle and caring towards her the whole night, the way he held her hand, the way he guided her on the dance floor. She felt a new found respect towards him that night, but respect wasn't the only feeling she felt!!
Meanwhile, the boys were laying down on their beds. Sleep wouldn't come to them, their mind was raided with the thoughts of the girls, they saw their feminine side today. They were used to the strong, straightforward girls that fought everyday against the world to be considered as an equal to a man. They saw a side where the girls tensed up on being close to one during the dance. They saw how nervous they were when they stepped on to the stage. They saw how one small compliment made their cheeks turn pink and lips turn into a smile. They realised how much their feeling for the girls changed over time. They realised how much the girls meant to them
That's it's again!!
