Part 7:
The guys couldn't even describe how much fun they were having on the trip. Sanyu had never seen Randhir laugh so much in the two years that she had known him for. To her immense pleasure a lot of his laughs were because of something she said, she felt quite content that she had the ability to make him laugh. She was surprised at the rate her feelings were changing for him, over a month ago if someone had told her that she would actually feel content on making Randhir Singh Shekawat laugh, she would've chased them with a wrench. But something about him over the past month softened her feelings, he was still the MCP sometimes but he wasn't the intolerable MCP, she actually found that quite adorable now.
Sanyu wasn't the only one whose feelings were changing at a rapid rate, Manasvi was faced with the same dilemma. She always knew Parth was an amazing guy, he had a great personality and was kind to everyone. But if someone asked her to introduce him, she felt that calling him a friend would be to inadequate. He was a bit more. But she couldn't quite understand what she could refer to that "bit more" as. They were all sharing funny wedding incidents that happened in their lives. During all this fun, Kaustuki was a little bit more silent than usual, her and Jiggy had a fight before she came. Jiggy couldn't come on the trip as he had something of his own at his house. He had asked Kaustuki not to go as he wasn't coming, but Kaustuki who was so excited to see a South Indian wedding very adamantly said that she was going to the wedding. Manasvi's mum had gone through all the trouble of calling her parents and asking for their permission and providing contact details just in case. She could just back out now. That was rude. Jiggy still insisted that she doesn't go. Kaustuki just got mad and yelled at him. They started their vacation on a bad note.
On the other hand, YOyo was torn between feelings of excitement and sadness. He was excited as he had never seen Kerala or a South Indian wedding. He was quite surprised when Manasvi invited him, he didn't expect her to. She hit him on his head and said that she was offended that he didn't consider her a friend because she definitely did, hence the invitation. He was quite touched. He was sad because he couldn't see his Kaustuki so upset, that pig Jiggy was so rude to her. He made a promise to himself that he would make sure that this trip was the bestest that she ever had.
Randhir and Parth were just staring at their girls animatedly talking about what to wear at the wedding. After listening to it for about half an hour they started talking about more manly stuff to each other. Surprising ever since Randhir found out that Parth didn't see Sanyukta as anything more than a friend, he started being very civil. Infact there had become very good friends in a short span of time. Randhir could tell that Jiggy got jealous sometimes but Parth was a wonderful friend to have. Very soon they reached Kerala. Manasvi's dad send them cars for their destination. The girls went in one and the boys went in the other. Manasvi started telling Sanyu and Kaustuki how she used to visit some of her relatives here in Alappuzha. This was her favourite place to visit in summer vacation.
They all reached the house where there were supposed to stay, calling it a house would be the most understatement of the year. It was a mansion. The view of the water and the coconut trees and the house boats around was just beautiful. Not one person regretted coming there. Soon they saw Manasvi drop her bags and sprint like a bullet. They quickly saw her enveloped in a hug by this very tall man. Appa she had said before she hugged him. The guys looked at each other and shook their heads. They had been friends with Manasvi long enough to know a few Tamil words themselves. They quickly heard her "appa" talk to someone else in what seemed a completely different language. Sanyu explained that it was Malyalam and most people in Kerala spoke it. Soon the guy left inside and brought with himself a very elegant lady dressed in a simple pink silk saree. Randhir took one glance at her and knew that she was her mum. They looked soo alike that you could think they were sisters.
Manasvi called all of them forward and started introducing everyone. Amma, appa, this is Sanyu, Kaustuki, YOyo , Randhir and Parth. YOyo didn't know about anyone else but he was completely stoked when Manasvi's parents addressed them in perfect English. He was totally expecting a madrasi accent. Prakash Ramachandran, sensed his daughter's friends shock and explained to him that he had studied in London for a while and settled in Bangalore after that. He never really had a chance to develop the Madarasi accent. He further saw the open mouthed expression by YOyo and patted him on the back and invited them to make themselves comfortable.
After they saw their daughter lead them all inside, Latha looked at her husband and couldn't help but laugh. She could tell that Prakash had tried so hard to not intimidate their daughters friends but his personality might've surprised them a lot. Now that they were all here, Latha Ramachandran had gotten a clearer picture of the situation. She could see the connection between Randhir and Sanyukta that her daughter had always told her about. She thought it was like looking are herself and Prakash in their college days. But she was more interested in this boy Parth, her daughter seemed a little smitten by him. And Latha could completely understand why. She hadn't seen a more well behaved boy in recent times. She thought she needed to investigate this issue a little more. She was actually making a little plan, as she knew her daughter would come ask her for help to develop a friendship between Sanyukta and Randhir. Latha would readily agree. Those two kids should really see what others can see happening between them. But before pushing them into something they are not ready for, it is necessary to have a strong foundation. And that foundation starts with friendship. With that she composed herself and went inside to see, what she expected to be a very explosive and eventful week.
Manasvi showed the boys their room and took the girls to the room that they would share together. She quickly explained to them the rituals that would happen in the following days and made a few calls. Within, 20 minutes there was a knock on the door and she was handed a big bag. Manasvi excitedly took the bag and plopped the contents on the bed. Sanyu and Kaustuki were shocked to see Manasvi giving them clothes, that they could wear for the wedding. She told them that they were all her clothes and she wanted them two to give her company wearing the traditional outfits and that she wouldn't feel as awkward wearing them herself. The girls couldn't have been anymore happier, they were truly excited and were soon watching Manasvi demonstrating how to wear a half saree.
That's it for now guys,
I promise I will get another two updates before Monday :)
