Part 3
Sanyukta walks in with an injured hand, no one understands what could have happened in such a short time. Sanyukta explains her injury saying that on her way to the station she was passing the lab where someone has dropped some tools by accident and she went to help and her hand got cut on a sharp edge, she it bandaged and drank water and came to visit her team in the meeting, she said. Also explaining the delay for her arrival as she just went to get water.
But she was in for a bigger shock when she found out about the hand written reports and the random selection of people for the presentation. They all headed back to the hostels to figure out a solution for all the extra work that was heaped upon them. Sanyukta was about to tell Randhir and Parth that she can't write the notes due to her hand when Kaustuki stopped her. She reminded her that Randhir will taunt her very badly if she informs him about the injury. She asked her to think calmly about another solutions. Just then Manasvi suggested that she can write the notes as her writing is kind of similar to Sanyu's and since they share the same room and would work there, no one would know.
Sanyu was worried for Manasvi as there was a lot to write and Sahil and Yoyo's report was very long and detailed. But Manasvi asked to relax and that she would manage fine by herself. The next day as per their discussion Sanyu told the team that she was fine to write the reports and she would write every night so that ep they can continue planning for the presentation during the day. Randhir was shocked by her answer, he had seen the bandage on her hand. He didn't think it was fair for her to write the reports and do the shared work with him. He decided that he should help her.
Randhir goes upto Sanyu and asked her if she is ok with handling all the work by herself. Sanyu was shocked for a moment, Randhir was the last person she expected to show some sensitivity. She thought she was hearing things and asked him again. Randhir realised what he had said and quickly covered up by saying that girls can't multitask and he doesn't want the presentation to be ruined because of her. Sanyu couldn't believe her ears, that MCP idiot she thought. She sharply replied that she was perfectly fine on her own and that she would never ever need his help. Randhir cursed at himself for framing his question in such a way. He took a final glance at her hand and with a heavy heart continued on working.
Meanwhile, Parth realised what the problem was and decided to ease Randhir's mind a little, he assigned half on Sanyu's work to Manasvi so that she could write the reports without extra pressure. Little did he know that Manasvi was the one writing and this was a plan of the girls to stop the boys from doubting them. Parth calls manasvi and asks her to do Sanyu's work. Kaustuki and Sanyu looked on shocked. Poor Manasvi, Sanyu was feeling super guilty as her friend would have to suffer because of her. Randhir saw this exchange, for once in his life he could have hugged that little brat, Parth. Now Sanyukta's wouldn't have all that extra pressure on her. In his little happy dance inside his head, he completely missed the interaction between the girls.
That night in the girls hostel, Sanyu was talking to Manasvi, she was convinced that this plan wasn't going to work and wanted to tell the boys about it. But Manasvi stopped her saying that it was completely fine and she doesn't have to feel guilt and also that Sanyu would've done the same for her or Kaustuki. But to make her dear friend feel a little less guilty, Manasvi asked her to help her with the speech for the presentation, just in case she got picked as she knew that Sanyu loved writing speeches. To this Sanyu happily agreed. The girls set out to finish off their respective tasks.
On Thursday,
The team was nearly done, with everything and Vardhan sir had called the entire team to the classroom. He wanted to conduct mock test. He said that he was going to pick random people and ask them question, he mentioned that this kind of preparation was necessary as he didn't want his students to be shocked or nervous when one of them gets called out tomorrow. The whole class nodded. Just then the girls, knocked at the door. Vardhan sir would've scolded them but looking at their faces and condition he truly felt sorry. Sanyukta looked like she just ran the Olympic race, Kaustuki was barely able to stand and Manasvi , that girl was leaning on the door about to fall asleep. He was proud of them for working so hard and working very long hours by the looks of them without proper sleep.
He asked them to take their seats and began the lesson. He called Sahil first, though he fumbled and mumbled, he gave the right answer. Jiggly was up next, after contemplating for a while he answered Vardhan sir's simple question with a very complex answer. Randhir answered his like he just had a book in front of him and he was reading off it. That's how precise it was. Parth answer couldn't have been any more accurate or simple. Kaustuki answered with a tinge of unsureity even though she was right. Sanyukta's answer just flowed like a river, it was well prepared and perfectly answered. The confidence in her answer didn't match her usually confident voice. She sounded tired and in need of a coffee. Vardhan wasn't even sure if he should ask Manasvi a question. She has her eyes closed and was leaning against her arm on the desk. But he didn't want his team to have it easy. He asked her his question in a slightly louder voice in an effort to wake her up.
He also half expected her to ask him to repeat the question, but what happened next surprised him and the whole class. Manasvi answered his question in such a quirky and studious way that he was shocked. Though she was yawning after every sentence. Vardhan was truly impressed at the efforts of his team. He asked all the boys except Parth to leave and take rest. He called the girls forward and told them that they need to be fresh and active for the next day and advised them to get some sleep. As they were leaving he talked to Parth, he told him about how impressed he was with the team.
He also firmly told him that there was a difference between making your team work efficiently and over working them. He also told him that the work was not distributed evenly. The girls seem to be more tired than the guys. He left Parth in a wondering state. Something struck Parth and rushed out the door. Parth caught Manasvi just as she was going to go to her room. He waved of the other two girls and said he wanted to talk to her. He asked about her behaviour in class today. Seeing her clueless expression, he asked why she was so tired and sleepy, "tumhe Sanyu ki tarah extra work bhi nahi hain, usse toh report bhi likne hain, agar voh theek hain to tumhe kya hua? Kaunsa itna bhari kaam kar rahi ho ki, Vardhan sir ko answer karate tumhe need aa gayi?" If you have a problem with the work load you should talk to me, agar tum minimum kam bhi bina effort rakhe nahi kar shakti toh dream team main kyun ho? With that he left.
Sanyu and Kaustuki were in tears. Randhir who was watching this from afar didn't understand why they were so sad. He didn't find anything wrong in what Parth said. Sometimes the workload is so high in their team that they miss some sleep but they shouldn't be in a position where you can see their tiredness. Vardhan sir saw the whole exchange between his team, he knew that the boys were in for a shock.
Manasvi went inside with a heavy heart and teary eyes. The girls hugged her very tightly and Sanyu didn't stop saying sorry. Manasvi told her that it's completely fine. The boys were giving the girls a cold shoulder, they didn't want a repeat of last time's presentation. Sanyu felt a little hurt to see Randhir's behaviour, he was never friendly to her but he was a little bit nicer to her these day. To see him back to normal hurt her a lot. But she was more surprised to see Parth being so rude to Manasvi. That girl was barely holding back her tears. Sanyu was about to tell them the truth but Kaustuki held her hand and Manasvi shook her head saying no!
Meanwhile, in his room. Vardhan sir was thinking about last night's incident...(to be continued)
