CHAPTER :5
The next few days, sameera visited RM daily. At first in the after-noon, on the pretense of
kindly just accepting the idea suggested by her dear jethji, shyam of her selecting her wedding
accessories and all the other required things in RM as it would be better for everyone owing to
the lack of free time for the upcoming ceremonies. During her visits she tried her level best
to act,
move,
Behave,
Talk,
and
live like khushi. The family members who had never got a chance to interact her previously or
even known about her except some causual aquainting meetings thought that she is just this
way from the start - talkative and bubbly...but for khushi , her chirpy-bird attitude and
carefree behaviour came as a shocker because the most shy and sensitive girl she had ever
seen in her life was suddenly trying to be all funny and chattering type.
as for sameera, she was so damn adamant in her mission to suceed, though it was difficult to be
out of her comforting zone and split herself as a complete new being but she tried! treid with
renewed determination everytime her brain adviced her to give up. She deliberately cracked
jokes over few things here and there while her biggest goal remained to divert the family's
attention from khushi and her antics.
The feel of enviousness had gripped her soul very harshly..., the intensity was sooo
much that in the next few days, she dint thought twice before lashing out at khushi if the poor
soul tried to even present a few suggestions of her own in the matters concerning the
approaching wedding.
At first, it was only khushi who noticed her rude talks as sameera made sure that she gets the
clear idea of her unwantedness in any of the upcoming function. Khushi felt bad, though she
never told it to anyone, not even arnav, with whom she would share each and everything. But in
2-3 days, even the elders started noticing the inappropriate behavior of sameera with khushi.
This kind of attitude from the soon to be daughter in law of raizada khaandaan was of course
not welcomed by the residents...and bade papa found it difficult at times to control
himself from giving his "sameera bitiya" a much needed peace of his mind.
Taking full advantage of their polite behavior and arnav's absence as he would be working hard
on behalf of both of them, she would try to administer the course of the entire wedding event as
per her own wishes and rules. Any one suggesting even the nastiest of things was acceptable but
a single word spoken from khushi, even though she would speak taking in arnav's likes would
be straightaway rejected.
This continued for a whole week. Anjali and shyam wont be present to notice such peculiar
things. It would be only bade papa and badi maa, and khushi would shush them up by the end of
the evening for the sake of arnav's happiness. The reason khushi gave for explaining sameera's
wrongly overdone attitude directed only towards her was that she was just way too excited as
she had always been on the professional grounds and never got the chance to participate or
enjoy weddings and other fun filling ativities. She was a harvard graduate afteralland being
supported by nothing except scholarship and her own skills, sameera had managed effectively
so far...this itself proves the sacrifices she must have made on her leisurely ativities.
Bade papa and badi maa though slightly doubtful about arnav's decision with the consideration
of sameera's attitude and tone while speaking to khushi, would still get convinced everytime
khushi talked to them at the end of the evening before the younger generation returned from
their tiring jobs. But khushi herself would be lost in deep thoughts, thinking about the change of
personality that sameera had underwent in such a short duration of time.
To avoid any further clashes and the explaining part, which she had to do now regularly incase
her bade papa and badi maa gets too angry with their soon to be bahu and decided to call off the
wedding, khushi decided to again start with her practicing at the hospital. When the wedding of
her and vivek was fixed, she had taken leave and decided not to cancel it after the shagun
ceremony of sameera as she knew everyone else had got their jobs and someone had to be
there, to support the elder couple with marriage preparations. But now that she knew that
SOMEONE was more than willing to fill in her space and do her part of the role...she
cancelled her leave application and started visiting hospital from the next day onwards.
Arnav was completely unaware about the happenings between sameera and khushi in his
absence as khushi would be at her possible best mode (the happiest one), when he would return
at late evenings. She would cheer him up and instantly her magic works on him becoz he will
forget his fatigue and tiredness and then would spend an hour or so chatting away with her just
like old times. Khushi never let sameera's misbehavior affect her relation with her bestie. She
would entertain him with her cute antics, making it difficult for him to control his laughter. They
would, like always dine together, enjoying each other's company to the fullest.
But in the midst of it, he failed to notice her poignant look at the mention of afternoon incidents
and ofcours the GRAND wedding preparations discussed by the entire clan as well as
mentioned by sameera in her never ending sms texts... yes! sameera was texting him every
now and then. although she had taken care not to bug him again with her late night phone calls,
she would but very exitedly and continuously message him showcasing all her ideas on their
wedding and the arrangements she had made so far ...he would reply sometimes or many
times not! But this wont stop her at all from flooding his inbox in her over excitement.
During night as sameera would lay on her bed...she never forgot to question herself regarding
her own behavior with khushi. Not that she hated that sweet bubby bestie of arnav...she had
always loved such humans whose mere presence would be enought to fill in the entire place
with blooming happiness, their selflessness and innocense would be attracting her the most and
she would try to savour every encounter with them...
And this same happened when she had met khushi for the first time!!!
sameera had an instant liking towards this very cute and extremely gorgeous besite of arnav.
But then gradually as khushi's visits ofcourse on arnav's insistence on their office increased,
sameera started noticing that arnav behave sooo differently with khushi unlike his regular
self. He would do the unexpected of things in khushi's company, the arrogant ASR would be
transforming into a loving arnav with am ease so difficult to achive by others but for khushi, it
was so simple!!! all she had to do was - smile her famous and very infectious kind of smile and
there the mighty ASR would be melting away in puddles!!
For a straight forward person like sameera, this was a very big shocker!!! She had always seen
arnav as an extremely silent, hardnosed and hardworking man but with khushi , he was
altogether a different personality. There wont be a crease on his forehead even at the failure of
any deal when khushi would be beside him, sharing her medicinal experiences. All these things
built up a wall of insecurity and inside her owing to the fact that she always had loved arnav,
and wanted him for herself from their college days.
But soon this insecurity was brushed off and replaced by anguish and pain which never seems to
fade out of her as she realized that her dream may never come true. Arnav never looked at her
just the way she wanted. And amidst her misery, she would do nothing but to cry for her bleeding
heart, imagining arnav spending his precious time with khushi. the vivid images that her mind
would visualize was the main cause of her intolerable kind off behavior now with khushi.
sameera was guilty for hurting khushi with her curt tone and harsh words but she cant help reacting that way owing to all the times she had cried her hearts out for arnav's negligence towards her and her love.
Her mind was trained in producing and potraying various vivid images of arnav laughing, talking, joking, eating, chatting, and the most trouble-some of all - hugging khushi close to himself. A joyous Khushi had many times, in her happiness kissed arnav on his cheek which would be the most infuriating sight for the green eyes sameera if she ever got to witness it out of their office premises or inside arnav's cabin sometimes.
Those images would then serve as a reminder to increase her willpower manifolds! and such intolerable friendship of the two bestie's would automatically transform her guilt feelings into a fierce rage, and her determination to occupy all that belonged khushi would only grow more and more, stronger.
