I just couldn't control my hunger. The pizza I (her look) had ordered for was to be delivered with 30 minutes then where the hell was that silly pizza delivery boy? Food was a major problem when parents are out of town and you have to survive on restaurant with your elder sister. Slowly reaching out the bed I sat on my study table. A message dropped in the inbox of my Facebook account. "Hi Kria, I think I know u" I wasn't near to any clue of who the person was.
I tucked my fingers on the keyboard of my laptop replying, "I guess I don't know you" The door bell of my house rang twice, it had to be the pizza boy. I went to door to take the delivery of dinner for me and my sister, Saurbee who was presently out of the house but had asked to save some bites for her. I came back to my room taking two slices in my plate. Another message dropped in my inbox. "Do you live near Devka Road, Daman?" Taking another bite I replied, "Ya, I do." His question session began and to each question my reply was yes. The last question he asked was, "Were you a part of Teen Science Club Daman?"
"Ya but for few months" I replied. "I was also a part of it, I guess now you must have remembered." came as an instant reply from him.
I did, memories of my 9th came back to my brain when I was a part of Teen Science Club, Daman for a couple of months. I remembered of boy in my batch, Reyaansh Singhania who was always lost in the books. He was the favorite of our guides. His interest was for science was at a serious level whenever we were given an assignment or project, word problem or any other question he was the first one to solve it. His expressions while solving made the people around believe that it was last competition which was compulsory for him to win as his whole life mattered on it. I was amongst those who had joined that club for fun as I wasn't ever interested in sciences. The basic concept of science went over my head. That time we never had a conversation not even a hi' or an eye contact, he was busy in exploring new theories and I passed my time sleeping on last benches. My interest was towards Journalism so I left it after attending few months.
"Yup I remember" I typed coming out of the past days. We continued with our chat talking more about our present days. "I guess you're in 11th now" he asked and obviously I had to be as we were of same age. "So why did you left the club?" I straight forwardly answered him back the actual reason, "Because I wanted to join Journalism Club but for that I had to clear a small entrance test. After clearance when I got a chance to join it I backed off from Science."
"I know that" How does he knows about it? "Actually many of my schoolmates were there and the way you slept in lecture given by guides gave a clear knowledge to every member of the club of how much you like science." I laughed a bit at imagining the way I slept those days during the class. The lecture time was my favorite as I completed my left over sleep. "Okay, so you're still a part of that club?" I asked. "No, I left it after 10th boards. So do you still drive that yellow bi-cycle on which you used to come?" He remembers about that bi-cycle which was my means of transport then. "No, I look funny now riding a bi-cycle."
"That time also you looked funny and you may not be knowing many members which included your gang made fun of your bi-cycle." I knew people cracked jokes on it but my gang also I didn't know this. "How can you say that, Reyaansh? You were busy dating your books and completing projects." He was so engrossed in doing work that he never bothered to look around, talk to others or even to know to names of his batch members the how he knows. "I accept I was busy working on projects and all but while working my ears were open. Your bi-cycle was known as eco-friendly taxi there and your friends called you the worst cycle rider as hardly anyone's parked scooter or bike would have been left out which were not hit by your cycle and fallen."
"Oh! Couldn't you tell me about it then and there? Why you told after 2 years?" When it was time to tell me about it he enjoyed listening to the jokes, giggling over them with his screw driver, nuts and other machines and now he's telling me. "Well I didn't say a word because if I had told you then you would have broken their legs and your friends would have turned me into pieces. Staying away was best." What he said was also true I would have chopped them but now if would chop them up at this time for a 2 years old reason, it would sound weird.
The door bell rang again and it would undoubtedly Saurbee di. "Reyaansh, I need to go. Byee." I messaged him and logged out to spend some time with my sister.
Next day when I logged in there was already a message from him. "Hi Kria" I typed half of the message when Saurbee di asked for my laptop's charger. "Di plz and what happened to yours?" Her charger was with her classmate. I hate this habit of hers, firstly passing on her things to everyone who needed then asking for mine. "Di not at all this time, I won't share my charger with you" I was firm at my words but she was my sister that too elder one two steps ahead of me. She took off the charger from mine and plugged in her laptop. "Kria, I've important work. Plz for 10 minutes"
"No" I took off the charger from her and plugged in mine. She was angry now "Kria don't be stubborn, give it here" as if I cared. My ears behaved as if I was deaf, this increased the bar of her anger. She pulled out the charger, I held her hand. "Di it's my charger." She took the charger and jumped off from the bed to the other side. "But my work is much important" I walked to her side with and intension of getting my thing back but we both needed it.
She pulled it from plug and I from the wire which was more visible more like a tug of war. In the greed of charger we actually broke the pin of the charger. "Oh! No" I cried out, that's why it is said to be patient and have control on your greed. She took her bag and I tied a scarf around my neck before we left for the repair shop. The person who had to repair the charger scanned it, "Two days." he announced.
"Damn!" I cribbed. "Come on! Kria. It's only two days" The problems had chose my life to enter? Two days without laptop. We both sat on two ends of the couch having no other option except staring at each-other's face. "Saurbee di next time we won't fight, promise me" I forwarded my hand to take the promise from her. She narrowed her eyes, "Last time also we had promised but let's make another promise. This time pakka wala promise karte hain... har baar apna hi nuksaan kar dete hain."
The next two days had created too much trouble for us. Nowadays every other work requires laptop and trouble was created by our self. I thanked god truly from my heart when the charger was back again in my hand. Plugging in the charger in my laptop, I logged in my id where too many messages were there to reply. It also included few more messages from Reyaansh. When I clicked on the dialog box of his name, there were 18 messages from him in two days. It was a bit surprising for, I read all his messages which had in them Hi Kria, How are you? When are you online? Lagta hai aaj online nahi aayi, next time aane ka irada kab hai, Hi whenever you come online do message me, I want to talk to you plz reply when u r online, Yaad se message karna and the last message he sent was, I got to know a secret about u I wanna confirm from u that is it true?
Secret? What type of secret he knows about me? I thought and replied him back, "Sorry dude mere laptop ka charger kharab ho gaya tha and its temporarily repaired it anyway u tell what u wanted to know."
