Chapter 3

Anti-terrorist squad headquarters, Delhi.

"Sleeper Cells! Even though its not new to our country, we have been trying our best to destroy it everytime they rise. The best way you ask? That would be terminating their root, that's the one who monitors them or the one who initiates their rise. So we have been quite successful in this for past years. But this time, things are a bit scary" senior inspector Ajay addressed to his 3 team mates.

"But sir, what is this sleeper cells? I cant believe they still exists after our previous mission few years ago. It was successfully destroyed isn't it?" Inspector Tara asked him with a frown.

"Ofcourse it was tara, that was initiated by the terrorist group that attacked Mumbai back then, this one is new. Or shall I say one of the oldest? This group had been very silent for more than 15 years now. Plans, training's, operations, bomb manufactures have been going on for over a decade albeit very secretly. It was 2 years ago we got a hint about this, but there was a shoot-out at that time and we believed we had destroyed them!" Ajay sighed.

Raj who was sitting next to Tara narrowed his eyes "Believed? You mean they weren't completely destroyed back then?" he questioned.

Ajay sighed further as he turned on the projector. The first pictures were of the Mission that was executed two years ago by ATS. The stills were of wrecked warehouse on the hills of Manali. More than 100 people were killed by the police. They had got a confirmation that there were nearly 60 girls who were trained to become the sleeper cells'. The mission was successful. If only that was the case!

"As you can see, the mission was successful. But there were 3 escapes!" Ajay's voice showed clear signs of guilty.

"What was this mission about?" newly joined inspector Prakash asked him.

"it was Drug Mafia. Only later we found out there was more into it!" Tara informed Prakash.

unconvinced by the answer prakash looked at Ajay hopefully.

"2 years ago, these terrorists plotted a plan. Simple as it may sound but dangerous. They were amidst us, like every normal people! Few worked as Rj's, few as Pizza Delivery Boys, few as sales persons in Malls and few as professor. Their target was - Innocent yet fragile, Intelligent yet crazy 16 year old girls. Since these jobs had direct interactions with public they could easily attract girls. It wasn't difficult for girls to fall on their trap. Once they were friends, they would feed the girls with drugs" Ajay paused to gulp some water. Everytime he thought how these boys trapped those innocent girls, his blood boiled. It enraged him.

"how? I mean didn't those girls understand they were being drugged??" Parakash voiced.

Scoffing Ajay continued "that was the trick. For example, Pizza guy fed his girl with pizza's that was drugged! Some with drugged chocolates? Drugged juices? Girls wouldn't understand. The drug was that efficient. Worst thing was these bas***ds had great Engineers in their hands who formulated these drugs specially for the purpose! For few months these terrorists dated the girls and made them hunger for the drugs. And then they suddenly disappeared leaving these girls baffled and desperate. Once the girls reached the stage that they couldn't live without these drugs terrorists took them away. To the place were they could tame these innocent girls into dangerous sleeping cells!"

Tara shut her eyes close! Two years and it still felt like yesterday. She couldn't forget the look on those girls faces. It still haunted her!

Prakash cursed under his breath. Was humanity so scarce in this world?

"we have got a news that the person who initiated this is still alive. He has successfully tamed more 300 such sleeping cells, both boys and girls! We have to find him and kill him. And also the three escapists of that mission. According to the source one of them is terrorist who had disguised himself as an RJ. Apparently he had some sentiments over the girl he had brought, he let her escape along with his friend. So we need to find the three of them!" Ajay took a deep sigh handing over the case files to his team mates.

"Girl could be the victim." Tara stated only to get a glare from Ajay in return.

"She was! Not anymore. She wont remain as a victim for two years especially when he helped her flee! Tara stop using emotions in your profession. Meeting Dismissed!" Ajay stormed out of the room. Tara sighed and followed him.

"What if she did?" Tara asked spotting ajay in the balcony.

Ajay looked down "Even then we have to find her! The drug is not normal one, its highly dangerous. Unless she is some Angel to resist her cribbing nerves!!"

"She could have got treated for it? Rehabilitation may be?"

"if that was easy then we wouldn't have taken risk of killing those 50+ girls two years back tara!" Ajay turned to leave.

"I still regret it! And I know you regret it too. And so our chief!"

Her voice struck straight to his heart. She continued "chief is unofficially in this mission isn't he?"

Ajay nodded "yes. He still cant get over it. He was suspended year ago, I thought he might have given up. But he is still on it. May be he has found the girl too."

"then what are we waiting for? Lets get details from him!" tara exclaimed.

"he wont give us, unless he is confirmed. Till then lets continue with our way."

Tara nodded. Ajay further added "lets just pray that she is a victim, if not there will be a destruction, more than any of us can imagine!"

As ajay left tara wondered "who would be the girl? how would she be?"

F.I.T.E College, Dehradun

"Are you insomniac?" Kaustuki asked as Sanyukta came out of washroom.

"What?" Sanyukta looked at her surprisingly.

"You didn't sleep last night. You kept roaming around and you even cried in your sleep!" Kaustuki pointed.

Sanyukta hid her grasp and answered "I had a nightmare.. er.. and new.. place.. so.. sleep seemed to be fighting with me!"

Kaustuki could see the awkwardness in her voice so she didn't push it further.

"hey! Lets check our college today whats say??" Kaustuki beamed. Sanyukta smiled and noded in return. She mentally prayed that it would be a good day.

Three final year students were lying on the ground with their body parts distorted. Was he an alien or something? Yo Yo and Jiggy gulped as Randhir walked towards them.

"Bro Bro!!! hold on!!! We.. err.. we wont rag you anymore!!" Jiggy shivered covering his face not wanting to be blessed by the punches.

Randhir smirked "you don't have that guts either! Next time, if I find any of you on my way, I wont spare your 206 bones! Trust me when I say that!" randhir growled.

"We... uh.. err.. Understood Randhir Bhai! Just.. leave us please!!!" Yo yo struggled under his hold, Randhir twisted Yo yo's arm "Don't Mess with me next time. Okay?"

"okay okay Bhai!!! Tussi great ho, now let me go!!!" yo yo stuttered as the pain took over his hand. Randhir released him instantly. As Randhir walked off yo yo stared at his retreating figure.

"Muje Ek teer pe do nishaane maarne ka man kyu kar raha hai?" Yo yo asked his friends rubbing his arms. Was that a plan cooking in his mind?

While jiggy gulped he turned to find two girls walking around the campus merrily. They were noticing every edge of the college and that did catch Yo yo's attention. When Randhir walked out of the corridor, the girls walked in. Yo yo's friends straightened themselves to start with their usual plans only to be stopped by yo yo. "not so soon guys!! First lets get first aid, lets have fun later okay boys??" As everyone nodded, jiggy seemed to be taking the view of the beauty that was walking infront of him. Was he falling in love at first sight only? Interesting!

"Sanyukta.. you look around I will collect my documents from the office and come back okay?" Kasutuki asked as they reached the admin of office. Sanyukta nodded and started reading the notices in the bulletin board.

There she found the reflection, reflection of a guy who was standing at a distance. He was staring at his phone. Probably seeing a picture. For unknown reason she felt she was seeing herself. Not months back, she was standing just like him, in some corner gazing at a picture that turned her life upside down. Shaking her head sanyukta reminded herself, past is gone and present is what she has to make it. When she looked up she didn't find him. She turned around and he was gone. She couldn't even note his face. Huh? She hated men, remember? Sanyukta mentally slapped herself.

That's when she heard a scream. Kaustuki?

Sanyukta ran in the direction of the voice. Only to hit someone. Both crashed to the ground with a thud. As sanyukta winced in pain she heard him swear. She met brown orbs as she looked up to see the person who dashed her. "What The Hell!?" both said in unison.

"Gosh! Cant you see where you are going?" he yelled.

Sanyukta gritted her teeth "same goes for you!! Ha! Whom am I kidding? You guys do it on purpose anyway!!!"

It was his turn to grit teeth "have you seen yourself in mirro? Please!!! Don't credit yourself so much! You are not even worth enough for me to dash you on purpose!" he looked at her in disgust. Sanyukta bit her lip holding back the rising anger.

"How dare you!!! You mannerless-" sanyukta stopped in mid sentence as she heard kaustuki scream again. She got up instantly.

"Oh Miss!!! Were do you think you are going? Pick up my books which is on the floor by your grace!" he mocked at her.

Sanyukta glared at him. She had no time to fight. She saw that already few people were watching them. She didn't want to be centre of attraction either. The more she kept low, the better.

There is a proverb anyway "for a favorable situation there is no harm in worshipping a donkey!" saying so mentally she grabbed his books and gave it to him. As she hurried towards her friend she heard him say "That's what you deserve. Badi aayi!" as much as she wanted to walk back and smack him she had no choice. She mentally noted to avoid him for the rest of her life.

But has the fate ever listened to anybody?
