CHAPTER 12Roshni was discharged the next day.Arjun reached the hospital in the morning and took roshni home after clearing the formalities.Roshni was fine by then but her head still had a severe pain and she was weak and needed a bit support while walking.
Arjun helped her get in the car and then into her room in his house.Roshni settled in his room and looked around.Though not too well kept,the house was fine.Arjun left Roshni comfortable on the bed and went to make her something to eat before her medicines.
Within a few minutes Roshni could hear loud sounds of utensils falling,banging with each other,Arjun's sizzling sound and then finally after lots of struggle Arjun brought her a plate full of 'khichri'.Roshni straighten to look at the mess on the plate while Arjun kept it on the table and went to get the small stool for her.
The food didnt at all look delicious,though it did bring a smile on her face.The food would have turned into a soup if Arjun would have kept it a few more minutes on flame.But Arjun seemed quite proud of his achievement and even brought a plate full for himself.He adjusted her plate and sat down on the chair next to her bed with his own.
Arjun nudged her to try it and she did.Roshni took a small bit of the so called 'khichri' and tasted it.She was about to make a face at it but then looking at Arjun and his hopeful eyes she gave a thumbs up and smiled.Thus assured Arjun took a spoon ful of the food and gulped down and stood up making some awesome wierd faces.Roshni burst out laughing and Arjun glared at her.
The next minutes went laughing and some Special Cooking Technical tips from roshni while they both gulped down the special khichri.After meal Roshni took the medicines and lied down sleeping under the effects of the sedatives.Arjun called his team and started working from home.
It was late evening when a comotion outside woke Roshni up.She stood up from the bed and walked outside to find Sameer sitting on the sofa laughing nd Arjun glaring hard at him.
'aisa kuch nehi hai Sam,tum hasna band karo samjhe ya '
'samjha na please mujhe bilkul samaj nehi aa raha,'sam said laughing,
'sam tu bakwas band kar aur ghar ja,yaha aya hi kiyu?'
'Arre bhabhi bimar hai,aur mein dekhna na aau,aisa kaise?'
'Teri to,dheere bolna nehi ata tujhe,'
'Ab kiya karu tu mujhe Roshni se milne nehi de raha,to mujhe hi kuch karna parega na'
'Sam'
Roshni understood the comotion was regarding her presence in the house.Unknown to her her cheeks were burning.She went down and walked to them.Both of them were facing their backs and didnt notice her.Sam was still laughing,
'tu abhi bhi kahega tu usse pyar nehi karta?to thik hai tu pyar nehi karta na,thik hai mein roshni se shadi kar leta hu,'
'Saale,tujhe sharam nehi ata,abhi bhabhi bula raha tha aur abhi shadi pe aa gaya?tujhe to ab samjha na hi parega,ruk,'
Sam jumped down from the sofa and almost fell on Roshni but held her in time.They were shocked to find Roshni standing there.Roshni was smiling with blushes all over her face.She looked at Arjun and then looked at Sam.
'haan to apko kisse shadi karni thi?'
'wo nehi,mein to arre tum to meri bhabhi hi ho,waise kaisi ho?chal pa rahi ho?'
'Sam mere sar mein laga hai,legs bilkul thik hai,aur hath bhi,'
'dekho roshni,mein tumhari hi bhalai ke liye kehe raha tha,ab Arjun to hai hi nalayak,tumhe direct nehi kahega,kahi iske chakkar mein tum sari umar kuwari na rehe jao'
'Sam,'Arjun shouted while Roshni was busy blushing,'tu abhi ghar ja,abhi isi waqt,'
'ja raha hu.Roshni apna dhyan rakhna haan.iska to pata nehi kiya khila dega.bhalai ka zamana nehi raha,'
'Tu jayega?'
Sam was almost thrown out.He bid them bye and went away.Roshni sat on the Sofa.Arjun came back and sat in front.
'Sorry roshni wo sam kuch bhi keheta hai,'
'really?kuch bhi?mujhe to galat nehi laga?'Roshni said smirking,
Arjun was surprised at her boldness.She was almost confessing her love for him.
'Roshni tum '
'Arjun wo kiya hai na,kuch log pyar to karte hai per kehe nehi sakte,ab sam ne kehe diya to chance chorna nehi chahti,'she said trying hard to hid her smile,
Arjun understood her taunt and looked at her.She was blushing trying to hide her face.He walked up and sat down near her legs.
'Roshni,'he chinned her up and made her look at him,
'mein is layak to nehi hu,but would you like to spend your life with me?I love you,'
Roshni wasnt surprised at this gesture.She had guessed it and pushed him for it too.She had a strange feeling of extreme happiness but she didnt know how to express it.She had tears in her eyes and a smile on her lips.Arjun sat next to her and held her in his arms.The long years of loneliness came crashing down at her.The strong arms around her were giving her the calmness and protection which she had lacked all her life.She held onto arjun and hid herself in his broad chest.
Arjun could feel his shirt getting wet and loosened his hold.He cupped her face and rubbed her tears from the cheeks.She closed her eyes and fresh tears wet her cheeks again.Arjun kissed her forehead and she enjoyed his closeness.She remained in his arms for some more time when Arjun leaned onto her ears and whispered softly,
'Roshni,tumhe kuch nehi kehena?'
Roshni shivered as his breath touched her ears and she gasped.She smiled and held him closer to her.She loosen her grip and Arjun understood she wanted to speak.He left her and she turned around facing away from him.
'Arjun mujhe nehi pata pyar kiya hota hai?Apnapan,concern,shadi,family mujhe insab ke bare mein kuch nehi pata.Meine ye sab kabhi dekha hi nehi.Meri puri duniya wo orphanage hi thi,jaha sab mere jaise the.Mere pas tab khone ke liye kuch nehi tha.Is liye daar bhi nehi lagta tha.Per ab hai aur mujhe daar hai kahi...
Tum se milne ke bad mujhe achanak itna kuch mil gaya Arjun.Payal jaisi ek itni achi behen,Sam jaise ek itne ache dost,tumhare jaisa partner.'she looked at him with tears,'mein ye sab khona nehi chahti,mujhe ab akele nehi rehena,khud garz ban gayi hu hai na?'
Roshni hid her face in her palms and started crying.Arjun held her by her shoulders and turned her towards him.
'Roshni tum na wo pit ti hui police wali hi thik ho,ye rona dhona na acha nehi lagta tumpe,'he said smiling,

'Arjun,'roshni said and started hiting him.Both held each other in their arms feeling each others presence and love in their life.

'Roshni tum rest karo mein dinner banata hu..'Arjun released her from the hug and said,
'nehi,mujhe marna nehi hai,Arjun,tum baitho mein banati hu,'
'Nehi roshni tumhari tabiyat thik nehi hai,mein ache se banauga promise,'
'nehi mujhe rest nehi karna,mein bore ho jati hu,'roshni said with a pout,
'okay chalo sath mein banate hai,'
Both smiled and went to the kitchen.They planned the menu and started working.Roshni sat on the slab instructing Arjun and Arjun was chopping vegetables.Arjun was intentionally making a whole lot of mess and roshni was continuously shouting at him.While cooking they laughed, giggled,taunted and beated each other.Their close encounters were making their hearts long for each other.

Payal was again having a tough time to sleep at night and started roaming in the garden.She looked around,the garden bench was empty today.She had expected to find Karan but he was not there today.She felt sad and angry too at his sudden absence.This feeling surprised her that she was actually expecting to see him struggling with his weakness here.But it was true.It relaxed her to a huge extend to know someone else is also weak and struggling like her.
She was happy to think he could sleep that night and would cure soon.But the next moment reality dawned upon her,he would leave the rehab soon and she would lose him for ever.But again who is he? A mere friend?or rather just no one.She shouldnt feel anything for him.A lump formed in her stomach and rose to her throat and her eyes watered.She turned to leave and banged into Karan who was standing behind silently.
Karan had come to the garden long back.He was restless and felt a severe pain at his lower abdomen.He held onto it and sat down on the ground.It was getting really difficult for him to bear and the pain was drying his throat,so he went in to drink some water.He was drinking water leaning on the wall of his room when he saw Payal come in the garden.His nerves felt a sudden relax watching her holding onto the tree and he walked out.He knew she too was in pain and he could ease her some.He had just reached her when she turned and banged on him.
'ouch,kya kar rahe ho?'
'mein to abhi aya,tum achanak ghumi wo bhi itni teez,larki ho ya bulldozer?kitni bhari ho yaar,'
'karan tum,tum kiya ho?andhe ho?dikhai nehi deta?puri garden khali hai,mere hi piche ake khara
hona tha tumhe?'
'mujhe koi shok nehi hai madam,tum aise khoyi hui thi isi liye puchne aya tha,per tum to,'
'mein to kiya?mein kuch bhi karu tumhe kiya?bare aye puchne wale?'
'kitna jhgra karti ho yaar tum?pehele kiya wo ghatiya serials mein vamp ka role karti thi?'
'karan tum na,'payal opened her slippers and ran behind karan,trying to hold his tshirt.
Both ran hitting and escaping from each other.After some time Payal suddenly felt tired and sat down on the grass panting.Karan was some steps ahead.He felt Payal's decreasing steps and ran back to her.
'Payal kiya hua?tum thik ho?'
Payal was still breathing heavy but nodded her head.She was sweating and sat down crosslegged on the grass.Karan held her hands tight,they were chilling cold.She looked at him.His face showed worry.She felt good and smiled to show she was fine.Karan had also sat down facing her.He was tensed looking at her pain and suffering.But when she relaxed he too felt light.He felt a sudden attraction to her tonight but he was afraid to accept his own feelings.He had lost enough in his life and doesnt wanna lose her more.
Payal felt his silence and looked at his hands which were still holding hers tightly.She felt a strange sensation at his touch but loved his care.She looked down and removed her hands from his slowly and shyly.Karan felt her response and looked away from her,
'tum drugs kiyu leti thi?'karan voiced out suddenly,
'kiya?'
'arre drugs kiyu leti thi??kuch aur nehi mila?dekho kiya haal bana li apni?'
'to tumhe to pata hai kiyu leti thi,fir bhi puch rahe ho,aur mein kiya tum bhi to nasha karte
the,sharabi kahi ka,'
'arre mere age piche koi nehi,mein mar bhi jau to kisi ko koi fark nehi parega,per tumhare bhai bhabhi haina,fir kiyu nasha karti thi itna,wo tumse kitna pyar karte hai,'
'wo meri marzi,tumhe kiya?mein kuch bhi karu tumhe kiya fark parta hai?'
'fark parta hai,tum meri dusman ho aur mein tumhe nehi khona chahta,bas'
'karan tum,'
and the race started again.Running behind,hitting each other and laughing their lungs out. They enjoyed each others company,their pain and suffering long forgotten.Their attraction towards each other were keeping them close but their insecurities were keeping them away from their own feelings.Thus,payal and karan hid their feelings in themselves and helped each other with the happiness they always deserved but lost with time and circumstances.
