Chapter 29:
Taani was so much annoyed. Today was the day of inauguration. She knew, she has to look presentable. But, Maya was making it too much. The inauguration was going to take place around 8:00pm in the evening. But, Maya had pulled Taani out of her bed at 7:30 am. They both had gone to do shopping and all stuff. Taani was completely pissed at Maya.
Finally, around 12:30pm they came back. They took a nice lunch and rested for some hours. Then, again Maya started eating her head.
Taani just took a shower and came out of the bathroom. She was only in rob. As soon as, she stepped out, Maya came into her view and pulled Taani with her. She made her sit in front of the mirror.
"Now, just relax and let me work up with my magic." Maya grinned at her, as she started drying Taani's wet hair. First, Taani protested that she can do such things by her. But, Maya didn't let her.
Around 5:30. Maya left Taani to wear her outfit. Maya had picked up everything for them. Maya, herself went to get a shower.
Taani gulped as she opened her closet. Last time, when Maya had chosen the outfit for her, the possessive Rey had come in front of her. She smiled slightly as she remembered their little moment. But, then again, sighted.
She gripped the handles of the door of her closet and exhaled a deep breath. In swift moment, she pulled the doors aside and looked at her outfit. Well, relief washed through her as she found that it was a saree. She tiptoed and took it outside the closet.
Taani thanked god as she looked down at saree.
" Time to get ready.." She whispered to herself.

Rey sighted as he pulled his jacket up.
Rey's outfit:
He took his watch and tucked it around his wrist. He shook his head as he looked down at the beer bottle which on his table. He took it and opened the lid, he poured it in a glass and gulped.
He wasn't completely drunk. This was just a first take. He was getting depressed since that night. One minute, Taani is very close to him. And another minute, she pushed him away from her. He was tried, confused, frustrated. The only option is to get a glass and make busy yourself with alcohol.
He took one sip and sat on the bed. He was about to take a second one, when his phone beeped a message.
Maya:
We are ready, whr r u? Waitin in lobby.
Rey sighted as he read the message. He put his glass on the table and took his cell and left the room.

Taani and Maya were waiting for Rey. Taani looked at Maya who was looking perfect in her red saree. Her figure was perfect with perfect curves. Maya turned to her, worried look on her face. Taani looked at her confused.
"Taani, I need to go. Steve is also coming. I will come with him." She informed him. Taani looked at Maya with more confusion.
"Steve is coming? Is there any problem?" Taani asked. If Steve was coming, then something must be up.
Maya smiled at Taani and shook her head. "No. In this event, Media is also involved. He is the head. Remember? Media just want one thing and then they will do a big-bang show. So, Steve is there, in case anyone tried to mess up." Maya informed Taani. Taani nodded, she was unsure of what Maya told him.
"You come with Rey. Okay?" Maya asked. Taani's eyes widen at Maya. But, there was no choice. She nodded weakly.
Maya nodded and left Taani alone.
Taani bite her lips as she realized that she was going alone with Rey. Of course, Maya was going to join them. But, a minute with Rey alone was making her nervous.
She turned and bumped with a wall. She was standing here like some minutes, how can a wall can be built up in some seconds?
She looked up. Her eyes got widen, that wasn't the wall.
"Rey.." She whispered. She gulped as Rey's eyes remained on. She lowered her gaze.
Taani's outfit:

Rey's eyes weren't moving anywhere but on her. "She can't get more beautiful than this.."He thought to himself.
Her hair were curled softly. They framed her face perfectly, giving her face an angelic look. She had a pair of diamond ear rings which suited her like they were meant for her. Her eyes were as usual twinkling. A slight blush on her cheeks. Her plump lips were painted faintly with red color, making them attractive.
The saree clung to her tiny body perfectly, her curves were completely in show. Her flat stomach was visible from the transparent material.
As, Rey was drinking her beauty,nervously, Taani put a tendril of hair behind her ear. The bangles around her wrist, made a slight melody sound. Rey snapped out of his trance and cleared his throat.
"We should go.." He murmured. As he waited for Taani. Taani nodded and they left the hotel.
Rey helped Taani sitting in car and they drove to the event.

Taani bite her lips as she saw the crowd along with media. The car whirled around the small fountain which was situated exactly in front of the main entrance. The car stopped in front the entrance. She could see the media vans were parked in a corner. She could also hear the flashed of cameras. She gulped nervously.
She glanced at Rey who was looking down at her. He looked around, his expression was hard. He glanced back at Taani, his features softens.
"You will be fine." Rey murmured. Taani nodded. Rey opened the door and came out of the car. He walked around the car, and came to Taani's side. Everyone's attention turned to him. He opened the door for her and extended his hand in front of her. Taani wasn't looking anyone. Her eyes were down. She put her hand in his, and stepped out of the car.
Rey closed the door behind, he didn't let her hand go. His thumb was circling at the back of her hand. Taani eyes looked around. Rey could feel her tense beside her. He pressed her hand, Taani looked at him and nodded. They started walking towards the entrance.
The flashes started flickering on them, making them almost blind. All the reporters were circling them, asking them questions. But, none of them asked about the scandal which was a relief for Taani.
Soon, bodyguards came and circled around them, making way for Taani and Rey from the bunch of excited reporters.
Taani sighted in relief as they walked away from reporters. Instantly, Rey's hand left hers. She gulped as she looked down at their hands.
"Let's go." He said, his tone wasn't rude or cold. But, it wasn't like usual. It was emotionless. They walked inside. Taani gasped as she took in the surrounding.
The hall was large, it was equal to the football ground, if we include the sitting part also. Chairs and round tables were decorated with roses.
Rey cleared his throat, Taani looked at him. "We should go and meet some people." He murmured. She nodded. But, before she could even take a step, Rey pulled her back by her elbow. Taani's back hit his chest.
Rey removed his hand from her elbow and put his hand on a small back of her. She shivered, as his palm was on her bare waist. She looked up at Rey who staring down at her. His breath fanned the side of her head. Rey signaled her by his eyes.
Taani looked around. Every men had a woman in their arms. Some of them she recognized. She gulped and nodded.
"Come on." He murmured. His breath tickled on her neck. She shivered.
The night is going to be long...

Taani smiled as they approached one of the known businessman. The man was in his 50s. He smiled at Rey and pulled him into a bear hug. He broke the hug and pat on Rey's back. He looked at Taani and raised his eyebrow at Rey. Rey cleared his throat. The old man smiled warmly at Taani. Taani smiled back.
"Taani, this is one of the closest friend of my dad, Mr. Nadish Rai." Rey introduced.
"And, Uncle.. This is my secretary, Taani." He introduced.
"It's a very pleasure to meet you, sir." Taani smiled at Mr.Rai.
"Same here. It's very pleasure to meet such a young and beautiful lady." He smiled warmly at Taani. Taani smiled back.
Suddenly, an old lady came and grinned at Rey. She pulled him in a tight hug and kissed his cheek. She turned to Taani and smiled.
" This, Mrs. Rai." Rey introduced. "And.. This is Taani, my secretary."
Mrs. Rai smiled at Taani. " You are a beauty sweetheart." She smiled warmly at her. Taani blushed.
"Thank you.." She murmured. Mrs. Rai turned to Rey, " Is there something between you two?" She asked.
Rey quickly cleared his throat and Taani looked down. Mr. Rai laughed loudly. "You both go and join the dancefloor before she starts her FBI session." Mr. Rai joked. Mrs. Rai glared at him.
Rey wanted to come out of the akward situation as soon as possible. He put his hand around Taani's shoulder and nodded.
"Sure.." He smiled at the old lovely couple. He turned to Taani and extended his palm towards her.
"Will you dance with me?" He asked.
Taani looked at Rey who was staring at her. His voice was sweet, but his eyes were telling nothing. She wanted him back the way he was. She wanted to deny and wanted to hide somewhere, so she can cry.
She glanced at the couple standing there, grinning at her. She smiled weakly and put her palm in his. They walked to the dance area. Taani could hear the faint music. Many couples were present on the dance floor. Taani gulped as Rey laid her to the centre of the dance floor.
She put her hand on his shoulder, his hand around her waist. He was silently staring down at her. She gulped and looked straight at his chest. She didn't want to meet his eyes. They didn't say anything to each other. Silently swaying slowly on the faint, soothing music.
Taani bite her lips. She was having hard time. The close proximity between them was driving her insane. His hand was on her back, on her bare flesh. She could feel the tingles were running through her skin because of his touch. His arms were perfectly around her. By each second, she was melting in his protective, strong arms which were gently around her.
She cleared her throat. Rey looked down at her, his eyes flickered to her red lips. But, he shook his head mentally and looked in her eyes.
She cleared her throat again. " Rey, I am feeling uncomfortable.." She lied. She wasn't at all uncomfortable. His arms around her was the most comfortable place for her. Rey narrowed her eyes down at her. His jaw was set tight. His arms loosened around her. Taani quickly slipped out of his arms.
She wanted some time to come back to normal. The look in his eyes told her enough that Rey was hurt, anguish. She left the dance floor. She didn't look back. Without anyone's notice, she entered on the back stage of the hall and started looking for restroom. Since, the event was nearing to, back stage was empty. She passed a door, she took some steps back to check if it's washroom. But, it wasn't. But, before she could proceed. Someone put a hand around her mouth and pushed her in.
She heard the door locked behind. Fear gripped her. She quickly turned. Relief washed through as she saw Rey.
But, she gulped as she studied him. He was surely on fire. His eyes were wide, his features were hard, shoulders were completely tense. She gulped as he glared at her.
"What happened, Rey??" She asked, in a small voice. She looked down.
She was about to look up, but he was quickly in front of her. He gripped his shoulders. She winced as his fingers were digging in her flesh. He pinned her to the wall, and quickly pressed his body on her.
"Reyyy.." She complained as she tried to wiggle out from his grip. But,he was practically on her. She couldn't. She looked up at him but quickly gulped. He was glaring down at her.
" Taani. Clear me everything." He hissed on her face. Taani gasped. She looked at him frantically with wide eyes.
" Clear me everything damn it. Do you know what are you doing to me? You are making a joke of me." He hissed. His voice was stony. She shook her head.
"One minute, you care for me. And, the another minute, you say you hate me..Do you know how much it hurts??" Rey hissed.
Rey left the grip on her shoulders and put his hand on the either side of her head. Taani looked at his face. His eyes were dull, face was tired. She was going to loose it. She can't do that. She has finally somehow managed to put those walls around her heart, he can't break them. He can't.
"Rey, leave me." She murmured. Rey's eyes snapped at her.
"Leave you? Huh??" He chuckled without humor in it. Taani put her hand on his chest and tried to push him away. But, he didn't bulge. Taani was trying, but Rey was looking down at her, her struggle.
He gripped her wrist and quickly put it behind her back, his another hand snaked around her waist, leaving tingling sensation on her flesh, he pulled her towards him. Taani gasped.
Her breath was uneven. "How are you feeling now, Taani?? Uncomfortable??" He hissed at her. She was squirming under his grip. She threw a disgusted look at him. It actually angered him more. He twisted her wrist behind her back, her another hand was trying to push him. But, it wasn't working.
"Don't give me that look, Taani." Rey glared at her. His jaw was clenched. The pulse was bulging out of his skin on his neck. He tightened his grip on her wrist and she cried in pain. He leaned. Her breath hitched in her throat. She gulped as he eyed her lips then his eyes flickered to her.
"Come on Taani, feeling uncomfortable??" He asked. His breath was fanning her face. Taani scrunched up her nose, as some smell hit her nose.
"You were drinking..." She whispered with disbelief. He looked at her with hard stare. "Yes. It helps me to forget about you." Her breath hitched in her throat. Her attempts to get free from his grip got slow. She studied his face. She gulped as his lips were mere inches from hers.
He leaned more towards her lips. Those trembling lips were parted. His breath on her face made her shiver. She closed her eyes. The heat radiating from him engulf her, intoxicating her by his warm body near her. His breath was on her lips, she could feel it. A shiver ran down her spine. Her body was numb.
He looked up at her, observed her. With trembling lips, uneven breath and closed eyes. Her hairs were framing her angelic face.
Last time, he looked at her. He slowly released his grip on her wrist and pushed her on wall, harshly. She gasped as her back collided with wall. She opened her eyes.
"I could have taken you right here, Taani. But, I want you to respond. I don't want to impose on you." He hissed. His voice was breaking.
"Bas..Taani! I am tired... I just don't know.." He paused." I can't take this anymore." He ran hand through his hair and took one step back from Taani, creating the distance between them. He looked at her, hurt was evident on his face. She looked away. Her eyes were clouded with tears. Rey ran his hand through his hair frustratingly and turned on his heels and opened the door, barged from the room.
Tears streamed down from her eyes. Each and every word of him was breaking her down. At this moment, she felt like she was going to loose him. Forever. The way he looked at her with hurt in his eyes, sobs came through her mouth. She can't lose him. She can't. The thought made her cry harder. What if she lose him?
Taani closed her eyes. She exhaled some deep breaths as she was having problem in breathing. She controlled her hiccups due to crying and franticly, came out of the room.
She looked at her left, no one was there. Her heart was thudding in her ribcage. She looked at her right. She gulped as she saw his figure, marching quickly.
She took the hold of the plates of her saree.
"Reyyy..." She shouted his name and started running.
Rey stopped in his track, he didn't look back. His palms were in tight fist. He closed his eyes and snapped open quickly.
"Reyyy.." He could hear her. But, he started walking straight. He can't do this, anymore. He had confessed her repeatedly.
Taani put her hand on his shoulder , made him stop in his track. She came in front of him.
"Reyy.." She whispered, while panting for breath. But, he ignored her. He walked past her. She quickly followed him and stood in front of him. He was about to walk again. But, she placed her hand on his chest, exactly on his heart. That made him stop.
Taani gulped as she could feel his rapid heartbeat under her palm. Rey looked down at her hand, then slowly turned up at her.
"Rey listen to me.." Her voice croaked. She gulped while breathing heavily.
"There is nothing left to hear." Rey murmured. But, before she could say, she stepped in front of him.
"Rey..Please-" But, before she could say anything , he stopped her. He removed her hand from his chest.
Taani's eyes filled with tears. Not because, he walked past her. Because, his eyes were filled with sadness. His eyes were filled with tears also. She closed her eyes and let tears fall.

Rey left the event from backside gate. A large lawn was behind the hall. No one was there. He sat on the one of the benches and put his head in his palm, his elbow on his knees.
He didn't want hear anything. He wanted nothing. He rubbed his palms on his eyes, wiped his eyes which were constantly forming tears in his eyes.
Suddenly, sky flashes with lightning and thunder roars above them. Rey felt a hand on his shoulder, his head whipped around, Taani was standing there, looking down at him, tears in her eyes.
Rey quickly got up. Taani's had left hanging in air. She took her hand back as she gulped. She walked and stopped in front him.
Rey looked down at her, he just stare at her. There was another loud roar of thunders. The sky was dark black, with those crystal white lightning. Taani shivered as the roars came repeatedly.
But, the man in front of her kept staring at her. She gulped and came more close to him. Rey just looked down at her with his intense stare. Another roar came with a more bright lightning.
Taani jumped. She bite her lips as tears streamed down from her cheeks. She looked up at Rey.
"I am sorry, Reeyy.." Her voice was breaking. She was verge on busting in fit of tears. A sob escaped from her throat.
Rey took one step and cupped her cheek. She put his palm on the back of his hand and closed her eyes, let tears stream down on her cheeks.
"Shhh...I don't want to lose you Taani. I want you." Rey whispered. Taani shivered as the wind howled, her hair blown in different directions. Suddenly, rain started to pour.
Both were standing , alone, all wet gazing at each other with so much intensity. Taani didn't say anything for what he said.
The only three words left from her mouth.
"I love you.." She whispered as another roar from sky appear. This time the wind howls more forcely, rain started pouring heavily.
"What??" Rey immediately whispered. " I love you, Rey. I love you." She whispered and flung her arms around his neck, buried her face in the crook of his neck.
Rey's hand were on his side. But, as soon as Taani hugged him. She burst into tears. She was crying in his neck. Instantly, his arms went around her tiny, bare, wet waist. His another hand rest on her bare back. He pulled her close to him as much as he can. He closed his eyes and buried his face in her wet hair.
They stood there hugging like eternity. Taani was crying softly in his neck. Saying 'sorry' repeatedly. Rey opened his eyes and broke the hug. The rain was still pouring with same pace.
He cupped her both cheeks. She was still sobbing. Her lips were trembling, her hairs were sticking to her neck, the side of her face. He pulled her towards him, she put his hand around waist, pressing them tightly on his torso.
He looked down at her, tears brimming his eyes. "Say again.."He whispered. Taani left a soft sob. Her hot tears were mixing with the cold rain droplets. Rey gently ran his thumb on her cheek.
"Though the rain is here. But, your tears can't hide from me.." He whispered. His both cold plams were on her cheeks, making her warm.
"Say it again, Taani!" Rey whispered. Taani closed her eyes and opened them. " I love you, Rey. I love you so much." She whispered, her voice was breaking.
Rey leaned and put his forehead on her. " Really? You love me Taani? You don't hate me??" Rey asked, while gazing down at her with love.
Taani shook her head slightly. "No.. I don't hate you Rey." She said, as new tears formed. "I love you." She whispered again.
He smiled slightly down at her. He leaned more down, their noses were touching each other, their breaths were mingled.
"I love you, Taani." He whispered. He kissed her nose quickly. " I LOVE YOU.." He said.
Taani raise her hand from his torso and put them on his hand, on her cheeks. Her lips formed a small smile on them. "Say it again.." She whispered.
"I love you, Taani." He said, smiling down at her. Her heart fluttered at his words. "I love you too.." She whispered in a small innocent voice. Both smiled at each other. Rey looked in her eyes. Taani had a small smile on her lips.
"I am not going to let you go away from me." He whispered, the possessiveness was dripping from the tone of his words. Taani took his palm and pressed her lips on his palm.
"I am not either planning to leave.. I have enough... Staying away from you. Not anymore." She whispered.
He pressed his lips on her forehead and sighted.
"Same here. " He whispered as he quickly planted a kiss on tiny tip of her nose. Her nose was all cold. He chuckled. She buried her face in his chest, flung her arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around her tightly. He held her tightly against him.
Taani sighted as Rey's finger skimmed on the nape of her small back. She put her chin on his chest and looked up at him. His finger ran up from her waist to her neck, then cupped her cheek.
Rey tucked those bundle of strands behind her ear. His knuckle caressed her soft cheek.
Rey watched as one of the droplet was running down from the tip of her nose, then to her lips. His eyes followed the droplet. Her lips were slightly parted.
"Can I kiss you, Taani??" Rey asked.
Taani gulped. She quivered in his arm. She unconsciously wet her lips and bite them. Rey silently groaned.
Rey leaned. "Can I?" Rey whispered again. Taani gulped. The rain was not on his fast pace. The rain was silent, just perfect for the moment.
"Yes."She whispered.
As soon as that word left from her mouth. He pushed her towards him, close as much as he can push her. Their eyes locked for a moment. Rey leaned and Taani's eyes instantly got closed.
Rey leaned down closing the distance between them and gently pressed his lips to hers. The kiss was so much gentle, tender that Taani's heart flutter. Their eyes were closed, cherishing, enjoying the most beautiful moment for them. The wind blew lovingly around them, rain pouring slowly making the moment perfect.
His lips were smooth against her. The kiss made Taani breathless. His luscious lips traced the every inch of her lips. Taani's arm tightened around his neck, pulling him down more. Rey tilted his head and deepened the kiss. He nibble on her lower lip, making her moan slightly. Her hand gripped the handful of his soft hair.
Taani broke the kiss as she felt the absence of oxygen in her lungs. She was panting heavily. Her eyes opened, Rey leaned his forehead on her. He was also panting heavily. Their body was pressed to each other's tightly.
Rey gulped as he watched Taani calming down from the panting. He leaned and again stole a quick kiss. He can't get enough of those plump, inevitable lips. Rey pulled back and grinned at Taani. Taani slowly opened her eyes and smiled at him. Her lips were swollen but still attractive. Rey groaned, his eyes flickered to her eyes. He ran a thumb on her flushed cheek, making them dark scarlett.
Suddenly, Taani sneezed. Taani cursed mentally herself as he removed his arms around her. But, soon he removed his blazer and put it on her head, and pulled her again her arms.
"No need to get disappointed sweetheart.. " He chuckled. Her heart warmed as she loved the way he called her sweetheart'.
But, then next sneez came from her. Taani cursed under her breath. Rey chuckled and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Let's go back to hotel. I don't think, people are interested to see us in such avtar." Rey joked. He pulled Taani on his side and they started walking towards parking lot through secret way.
