It was their last day now at our house, Papa and Uncle would come home today and they would all leave tomorrow morning. I sighed. I was finally starting to get to know Virat and he would go back now, I didn't know why but I didn't want him to leave yet. A knock on the door took me out of my thoughts, "hey what's wrong, you look a little off," he asked standing at the doorway. I forcedly smiled, "koi baat nahi, you can come in you know, janvar nahi hoon, I won't eat you," I said mocking him from the other day. He smirked coming in, "nahi aasman ki pari ho tum to," he said huskily. I felt the blood rushing to my cheeks as I heard his him said it. He looked at the necklace and rudraksha he got me that were sitting on my dresser, "I understand if the gifts were a little cheezy, sorry," he said, the sadness behind his voice just tugged straight at my heart.

"Its not like that at all, I loved the gifts, lekin mummy, aunty, I don't know what they will all think when they see me walking around wearing it, we are good friends lekin sone ki tofe, it must have been really expensive Virat, mein abhi nahi pehen sakti, I won't be able to lie to Aunty and mummy nor will I be able to tell them the truth, please I am really sorry but try to understand, I would care less if I got in trouble but I don't want mummy thinking badly of you" I finally said holding his hands, I didn't realize what I had said in that last sentence, I just blurted out everything that was bottled up in my heart hearing his sad voice. He smiled and barely nodded his head. I knew he still felt bad but I didn't know what else to do. There was a dead silence in the room, I turned away when I felt his hand on my shoulder.

"Manvi can I ask you a question, bura maat mana?" he asked softly, I turned around gazing into his eyes, they had a piercing gaze on me and all I could do was nod my head yes. "you said you wouldn't feel bad if you got in trouble but you were worried about me, aisa kyun," I felt my face light up red as I recalled my last statement, I didn't even realize I said it. "woh nothing Virat, aise bol diya," I said quickly trying to divert the topic. I closed the Parineeta book I was reading as saw him glance over at it. "Parineeta, you read hindi too?" he asked taking the hint that I was uncomfortable. I shook my head, "English translation hai budhu," I said laughing. My breath turned cold as he placed his fingers on my cheeks, "aise haste rehena (always stay laughing)," he said pinching the side of my cheeks. "chalo, I was going to ask if you want ice-cream, I am hungry, since you refuse to wear the gifts I gave you how about ice-cream for the lady, it could be a date" he said dramatically as he winked at me. "dramebaz, koi date wate nahi hai," I said slapping his hand as he tried to hold my shoulders. "oww," he continued his drama as he held his heart, "tumhare bate toh dil pe lagi,(your words hurt my heart)", he said still acting and I just rolled my eyes. "ab itni zid hai toh tum bhi kya yaad rakhogi, (since you are so desperate why not), but this is not a date I sternly remided him." "yes madam india, jo hukum, I think I like this sherni side of you," he said winking at me again as he started the car. I slapped his hand again, "eyes on the road mister, I want to make it to my ice-cream alive." He pouted looking at me now "oww you are stronger than you look manvi, dard hua," he said caressing his hand. I got scared and immediately stopped the act, "oh my god I am so sorry Virat," I said innocently to see his eyes just gleaming with mischief at me. "meri boli bachi, kuch bhi maan jati hai, (so innocent and nave, you believe everything)" he said pinching my cheeks again. I glared at him for his joke, "baafre gusa toh naak pe tika hua hai kya? (do you have your anger just waiting at your fingertips)" he finally said this time holding both my cheeks to which I just laughed. "oh god Virat, leave it to you to make me laugh again when I was feeling down, thanks," I said finally catching on to why he was throwing all these one liners. "Anything for you madam, chale ice-cream khane, wese mood ki bahane the ab toh such much date ho gaye (Well you know the ice-cream was for your mood but I guess since your mood is good now it's a date)", he winked again. He bolted away before I could hit him this time, and I just laughed to myself, "pagal bilkul pagal (crazy, absolutely crazy)." I shook my head at our connection and smiled at him as he came back to the table with our ice-cream, two hearts connected together with friendship, he was right. All I could do was smile at the realization of how much we understood each other.
