I maybe expressing controversial view here and you know I'll never expect you to agree with me Twigs. It is just another point of view that struck me and I feel the need to express it.

What Arnav is feeling ...the guilt, the helplessness is very natural. After all a life was lost and he can never have an answer as to whether or not that would have been different if he had moved faster on the case. Hence for me Arnav's reactions are bang on.

It is Khushi's rush that I'm a bit confused about. I can understand her wanting to comfort Arnav. I can understand her to not allow Arnav drown under his guilt. I can understand her pointing to Arnav that he did his best and there are situations that are out of his control, hence he cannot blame himself.

But what i cannot understand is that she is expecting him to get over her guilt...now. her irritation and irksome reactions are saying that to me. If Arnav didn't gel guilty and if Arnav got over his guilt fast is when Khushi should worry because it shows the person's callous nature.

What she needs to give Arnav is time to recover. Time is the healer and I'm not talking months and years. I'm talking days. She, as his partner of course should be there reminding him that he couldn't have done anything differently to save Lavanya but he can help Aman.

But then again, I don't blame Khushi. Coz she is a young girl herself. and the impatience and irksomeness come with the age. That is where Arnav stands tall for me in this story. Taller than all else. Despite his problem, he is there for Khushi. Asking her about her calls and discussing about it. He is the most giving person in this tale and I love him for that.

Great job Twigs.

P.S - Great banner Heaven :)

Finally !

Edited :

With all their imperfections set aside this couple is just perfect for one another in every which way.
To see Arnav consumed by guilt is but natural and also to see Khushi trying her best to calm him down is equally expected.
And amongst this restlessness too see them both loose their cools momentarily only to grab each other in the very next instant is quite wonderfully written.
Lavanya and Aman succumbed to both external and internal pressures , and somewhere i too feel that Arnav took too long in taking a decision but that does not mean that he is responsible for the consequences of some one else's actions.

That was some counselling! It was much needed and Arnav true to his nature was feeling guilty and he needed Khushi to prod him out of it and get over the melancholic feeling he had fallen into. And Arnav true to his nature was happy for Khushi and was urging her to grab the chance even though he was down in dumps!
Lovely update dear, one that s worth pondering over.

This is one of those time which they warn us about. Letting your professional life effect your personal life. But it's inevitable. It's something which can't be avoided if you have a heart.

Regret and guilt is what he feels but whatever advice i wanted to give him is already given by Khushi. She has touched upon very important points.
The best part is that he wants to get out of it and is hanging on to the hope and strength which Khushi is offering him.

It was so beautiful to see his genuine happiness on Khushi's success. Despite the fact that he was at his lowest, he rose above it to encourage her.

Why did everyone know you updated and not me? I am going to sulk now. 💔
Isn't it ironical! The day Khushi's dream came true, was the darkest in Arnav's life.
Feel sorry for Lavanya, but as Khushi said it was her choice to give up on life and die.
There are times in life when nothing goes your way. But you don't give up.
Suicide is the coward's way out.
And Aman is angry with life in general.
And he is making Arnav the scapegoat by putting the blame for the whole mess on him.
Hopefully Arnav will now be able to get him out on bail and hopefully get Lavanya's in laws put behind bars.
I love this Arnav. He loves Khushi and he loves selflessly.
Even in these dark times he is genuinely happy for Khushi.
I just hope he finds the strength to fight back.
And I'm sure he will.
After all, he has Khushi by his side.

And I loved the banner, Heavenji.

Res
And like so many of us do at times, he finds himself at the precipice of guilt. But at every point there is decision that can change your course - it may not take you back to where you started but it can bring you closer to where you were headed in the first place.

I am so glad to see a couple as evolved as this,Twiggy. I know for a fact that couple with years of togetherness and understanding struggle to find what this pair has - the ability to be there for the other completely and for always bringing in their words support, hope, warmth and the occasional shake-up. It isn't always easy but it is almost always worth it.

I hope the fears and self doubt are short-lived. The guilt may never go away but the time to do the right thing is almost always now.

Beautifully introspective chapter, Twigs.

I love how she told him to put the guilt aside and focus on what can be changed to bring justice to the victims of this tragedy. You did a great job depicting how it was La's and Aman's decisions to take the course of action they did, Arnav was not there to pull the trigger for them - his only fault was the delay in being ready. He is at the brink and can either jump further in the abyss of guilt and self pity or make the leap to correct the wrongs that were done, making sure history does not repeat itself and that another La does not suffer the daheej injustice that some backward thinking people still believe in, that another desolate brother does not go to jail trying to avenge his sister's death. I think we may be underestimating this self doubting Arnav, if he has the strength to be the pillar for his family, then I am sure he will pull through. Everyone is allowed to fall apart after such terrible news. It is what he does next that matter.
He was so happy for his Kushi's chance of getting her dream come true despite everything he was going through. She was there to remind him of what was important to him and to them as a couple.
