That was a BEAUTIFUL story, Jenny.

Thank you for the PM's because I doubt I would have found it by myself.

You recreated the feel of 1920's Bengal so beautifully. I have a definite weakness for historical romances and you did exceedingly well here.

Your descriptions were as lyrical as ever. And the way you developed the characters of our protagonists is remarkable.

Arnab from an idealistic revolutionary to a more practical, staid, dependable man who continues to fight for his beliefs while recognizing what he abhors, Khushi from an innocent and mischievous child to young woman wise beyond her years-- such a treat to read.

I especially liked the peripheral characters. Everyone was so very realistic! Be it Arnab's father and his set ways that flourished under the Raj, his mother who only cared about keeping her family together, Thammi-- who despite her years and frailty was as sharp and perceptive as someone half her age, even Pranab with his infatuation with Khushi-- how natural and how unfortunate!

And I especially liked how non-preachy you were. It is very easy to forget that we're talking about another era where attitudes and thought processes were so very different. I loved that Arnab was uncomfortable with child-marriage with all the natural conviction of a young man who is educated and has seen some of the world, and at the same time understands the custom and accepts the young girl he has been tied to.

And I'm glad you ended it the way you did. We will never know for sure if Arnab and Khushi survived the revolution or not-- or even the journey. But that isn't important to me. What is important is that for a few moments, they escaped the turmoil around them and within them, to find peace in each other and come to terms with what they mean to each other.

I will always believe that however long they lived, they lived happily and together, drawing strength from one another.

Thank you writing such a beautiful story and sharing it with us. I love all the historic details you provided throughout the story. And you wrote about a topic that was so common in that time period but now considered such a tabboo in a very intelligent way; instead of turning away readers, you really captivated us with your story!

I loved this slow progression from an arranged marriage to an everlasting love between Arnab and Khushi. And the last chapter just really spoke of their love and longing for each other. I don't even know how he thought it was feasible to leave Khushi again and just be happy with these once a year meetings. And I'm so happy that Khushi stood up for her feelings and for her love, and is willing to go on this journey with him; she is now mature enough to understand that living the life of a fugitive will not be easy but it's better to be on the run with each other than stay apart and not know how the other is doing.

I'm glad the Pranab issue was taken care of by the elders. It would have been a shame to have him ruin Arnav and Khushi's relationship in any way. Whatever happened to his wife?

Looking forward to reading the epilogue!

Beautifull story coming to an end . I am so sad 😭

Girl u have done justice to all the characters that u have portrayed in the story. I am so happy to read a love story in the preindependence period and u have written it so beautifully.

I loved khushi more in this story seeing her transform from child in to womanhood.

Khushi was so adamant that she wanted to go with Arnav and I am so happy for her. I really think she made a wise decision of going with him.

Good decision of sending Pranab to Londan.

All's well that ends well.

Can u plz make Arnab prove his innocence .
