Manreet, the A/N was as beautiful as the conclusion of the story!!

Finally Arnav realized and wasted no time after the realization hit.

Adding the perspectives of his and her family members added depth to the story and helped us understand their love and friendship without a single dialogue! Although Khushi remained an enigma to me as you purposely omitted her perspective which is perfectly fine. I can come up to two conclusions myself. Either Khushi was in love with Arnav but since Arnav never showed any inclination towards romantic love she gave up on him (am I stupid to think like this? ;) ) or she also realized her love towards him at the same time as Arnav did.

The last para oozes Arnav's happiness and contentment 😊

You said you were not creative but analytical. I'm no literary expert but for me creativity is when you take a mundane idea and add your flavor to it. The way you described seasons and associated them to Khushi's nature or to her life through Arnav's eyes is creativity for me..!! The way you write your sentences are enthralling for ex. "I never understood the true meaning of that expression until the day I saw Arnav approach me with his eyes dancing in upmost happiness." -- This one sentence is enough for the reader to feel Arnav and his emotions.

Loved all 4 parts. I hope you write more. If you do please let me know I would love to read it!

Cheers

K,
Thank you for the beautiful comment and praise, the fact that you and others have taken the time and effort to read my novice work really does mean a lot so thank you!
I'm sincerely glad that you liked the story, particularly the conclusion, i must admit i was perhaps the most apprehensive regarding the final part than the rest of the story, i was painfully aware that many readers wanted to witness Arnav and Khushi's journey towards love, but try as i might i couldn't bring myself to write it, for me that's another story for another day!
I'm also glad that you liked the family perspectives, I must admit they were my favourite part to write too, especially as it absolved me of any responsibility to indulge in dialogues to explain Arnav and Khushi's thought processes!
As for Khushi, I kept her an enigma because i wanted her to be whatever the reader wanted her to be, there's a certain magic in mystery and this thought attracted me into making Khushi, as you perfectly described; an enigma. This idea is also heavily influenced by a story written by Jodi Picoult called The Pact, its a hauntingly beautiful story which I would highly recommend. As for your conclusions regarding Khushi, let me just say one of them is exactly how I percieved it. I'll let you guess which :)
Again thank you for the comment

Thank you. I'll add "The Pact" to my bucket list of readng.!

Hmm, I'm going to go with my first conclusion 😉 what say?

You are right, their journey towards love is story for another day or it would have taken the beauty away from this story.!

I also wanted to mention about hide & seek, come to think of it, I think you gave a new meaning to that play with what Khushi realized..!!

Cheers

Now you have me deeply curious! What do you believe Khushi learnt that day when discussing Hide and Seek? Again this is an aspect I purposely kept a mystery but now as you mention it I am curious to know what you think!

Oh, you already mentioned it in the A/N -- "in my mind, they had a conversation about a childhood game so many of us have played, the moral of being lost and finding in each other struck a chord with Khushi that day that led her to shed some of the depression that weighed heavily on her fragile shoulders." -- I thought Hide meant for her being lost in the past and Seek meant Arnav coming to California seeking her and/or the warmth, the comfortness she feels in his proximity..!!

Ah I see!!
For a moment I thought that you had discovered something which I had previously failed to consider. It seems being sleep deprived is robbing me of the ability to realise that I have already answered this question!
Thanks K

Be it companionable silence or unconditional love, all of us want that one person who could provide us with these with no questions asked or no doubts raised. We may not actively look for such a person, but we can always desire.

Both Arnav and Khushi are lucky to have found the other in their childhood and to have found each other again after the tragedy in Khushi's life.

According to me, they loved each other for a long long long time. I won't call it romantic because till you don't yourself grasp that you want to give and receive the complete affection and pleasurable touch of the other it cannot be called that. I won't call it platonic. Because everyone around them, who thought that they would make a perfect couple, had gotten them married they would have smoothly made the required transition with each other. What they shared was just love. Bas!

I loved the interplay of seasons. Arnav met her again during autumn when winter is seeping in and various insects are struggling to gather provisions to survive the cold... that colors would be lost is already a given. He realised he loves her and you showed their happily ever after through summer. Of course, there is blazing hot sun that irritates, but there is life which shines. grows, triumphs under the sun rays. You didnt show winter... but it was understood through other characters' perspective that Arnav helped her battle the worst phase of her life. But you spoke of spring and his efforts bearing fruit, exactly what spring signifies... shedding of winter and embracing colors.

It was Arnav's journey (with a few stolen moments from 4 other characters). He lost Khushi once. He met her again. But she was lost to life. He saw to it he found her again... and this time he found her to cherish her for forever.

I am a sucker for happy endings, so thanks for this 🤗. Arnav Khushi aur unke bachche

This is such a wonderful story. So, well-written. Double bas!

PS: I only wonder... what would have happened if Abhinav hadnt died... What if both waqt and kismet wouldnt have been on ArHi's side???

PPS: Delilah... you really found a gem in the ocean. Thanks 😊

Hi,
Thank you for such a detailed comment and for taking the time to read my novice efforts, its greatly appreciated
You raise an interesting question regarding Abhinav. In my mind Khushi loved him dearly and unconditionally, in the sense a husband and wife should. Khushi is one to commit to something wholeheartedly and that is what her commitment to her husband is, she loves him dearly and protects fiercely (as mentioned in the first part) in my mind there are never two ways about the fact that she does love her husband. The deeper love she has for Arnav comes to the fore at a later stage in her life when the time is right.
As for the concept of destiny and things aligning when they are meant to be: it is my belief that some things are and forever will be beyond your control, when you realise a love, when you lose someone precious in your life, when you find everything you were ever seeking, sometimes pivotal events of realisation in life can actually be fuelled by your thoughts and circumstances in that moment in time. As people we are constantly changing and it takes certain things to fall together for you to realise something that was perhaps there for you to embrace all along. With this thought, for me, it was inevitable that Arnav and Khushi would come together when the time for them was right to do so. (even at the cost of poor Abhinavs death) Love can happen more than once and in many ways, its how you choose to embrace it in life which can affect where we stand with these emotions right here, right now.
Does this make sense and answer your questions? Apologies if this or my writing was not clear enough!!

Such a beautiful piece of writing, it was breathtaking! I read it all together and am marvelling at your writing. It was incredibly clever and refreshing...

Loved the joinery that traced their lives and love.

Love how you wrote the perspectives and view from the different people carrying the story forward while doing so and revealing so much too, it was a brilliant touch...how Arnav felt and feels about Khushi... How their friendship remains so strong, natural and beautiful with assumptions, loved how time and marriage and sorrow did not take away but added to their friendship... But most of all I loved the style and content of the POV from different family members...from sisters and parents ...I loved that !
I wonder about how strong a friendship they share...given that almost everyone made some assumptions about their relationship...not romantic but more than platonic...

I love how Autumn reminds him of his Khushi...I loved the play of seasons here, significant to me for the changes internally and externally it brings in Arnav's life..
I loved the silence that spoke volumes, I loved how this seemed the story of two regular people and a second chance for love...and hope!

Loved your unique style of writing...it was refreshing and a pleasure to read...love the end...two people who were meant to be together finally are united living blissfully ...content and complete!
