Thanks to Dream for telling me that the characters had a comfort level despite their relationship. ^Dream!? Oh, that is the best nickname I've ever gotten. 😳 My real name is Ranjana but feel free to call me Dream. 😆 Anyways...wonderful update Mary! To begin, really liked that Astha told Shlok off in the mangal sutra scene - even I was raising my eyebrows when Shlok said she shouldn't disrespect such a sacred thread.
"I have no intention of playing good wife to your misogynistic Agnihotri family ideals"
^Have to say - your dialogues for Astha are always spot on! 👏
"You didn't have to. Your attitude said enough. How dare a small middle class girl challenge me openly? How dare she reject me? I will show her! And so you did."
^ OMG! OMG! OMG! Mary you're a genius! This line was just perfect!
Astha closed her eyes: Oh God! Put some clothes on!!!
🤣 A reaction that well befits the Astha of your FF. I'm happy she didn't start shying away and wringing her dupatta. 😆
I love Kavya, I have always wanted a baby girl like...
Shlok's outburst was so unexpected but sooo cute! 😳 Love that Astha turned red. 😆
The showdown that followed after Shlok found out the truth was amazing! I'm so glad that you didn't underplay the issue and emphasized how wrong it really is by getting Abhay arrested right away - before NA could even start the emotional blackmailing and lecture of Abhay being Jyoti's husband, etc. That's the kind of reaction that should always follow such a revelation - straight-up arrest.
Astha: As I was saying...it looks like your are not much of a misogynist after all, dear husband. At least, not where your sister is concerned. Which makes you a hypocrite. And that is a compliment when it comes to you.
^👏 Astha's one-liners are really the best thing! It's like reading a very witty social commentary on the show itself. :)
All in all, this was a wonderful update! The way it ended though gave me a hunch of how things might be in the future - so now that Shlok is not only guilty but very thankful to Astha, I think the story from now on will see Astha continuing to spew hatred at him until she reaches the point where she gets tired of doing it because she gets no negative response back from Shlok. Eventually she will get exhausted and maybe we will see her soften down. Meanwhile, I enjoy your strong and witty heroine - makes me wonder, are you an Austen fan? 😉
Regarding your note - I actually understood Shlok's characterization pretty well since the beginning. By the night of their marriage, he had already lost the vengeance that fueled his purpose and the screaming at Astha - although it seemed so evil and real to her - seemed more like a show to me. Kind of like, if I did so much to get here, I might as well give it a good finale even though I no longer feel any happiness from hurting her.
You also said your FF is not going to be very long - you aren't ending it too soon are you? :(
Anyways, update soon! 😊
